Thanks for sharing this. I'm curious why you kept 2 roundtrip tickets + 2 hotel nights that you aren't using. Why not cancel all? (Or maybe cancel 2 and keep 1?) The promo was a good deal and I'm hoping it comes back.

ETA: Or I could be reading wrong--maybe you only didn't use the hotel?
We booked a cheap hotel that we didn't use. Sorry that was confusing!

I haven't discussed this with DH really and we're not locked down on dates so this is general research. But it would be on the table depending on budget-y things and points. But that doesn't get you any special FPs lol unless club level I believe...

I think there are only FPs on either 7 or 9 rides between the two parks. And yes, unless you're "castle club" no free FPs. Depending on when you go it could be totally worth it or not at all. How's that for vague?
We used ours twice in 2 days-at Ratatouille and at Phantom Manor. That said we only spent really about 3 or 4 hours total riding rides and between DH's neck pain and my headache, skipped most of the FP rides, so it could definitely be worth it...or not...Y'all will note my beloved Dumbo does not have FP, just saying...💜:dumbo:

Thanks to @kmc8826 for sharing the 20% discount is back for dvc merch, I finally bought the DVC dooney purse I've been wanting! It's been a huge internal struggle cause I don't spend that kind of money on myself. It ended up being 50% off and I still struggled lol! Yay, getting my first Dooney purse :jumping1:
I'd give it to my husband and tell him to wrap it up for me for christmas. :)

We gave up on Starbucks a couple of years ago. They kept messing up the orders and handing us sticky, drippy cups. DH and I bought a really nice Nespresso machine and haven't looked back. Now we favor the hotels that have these in the rooms. :rotfl: I'm not above going to Starbucks when we are traveling, but seriously the lattees at home are so much better I'm spoiled now.

Also love our Nespresso, but Starbucks is handy (and fairly consistent) when we travel.

My dh never made coffee at home, until he tried his sisters Nespresso maker. Now we have one, and he has one each weekend day. We just had to restock, and spent a small fortune on pods last weekend. There are hotels that have Nespresso makers???

We found a better coffee place in Oslo, so skipped the Starbucks there, but it does exist over there. I hear you on the trips, though. We also tend to visit Starbucks when we are traveling. It's just so disappointing compared to what I make at home.

My DH goes through several of those pods a day. Yes, there are hotels with them. Last 2 we stayed at that had them in the room (and replenished our pods twice a day) was the Park Hyatt in NYC and the hotel we stayed at in Oslo. They also brought us fresh baked cookies at night over there. :) I know there are other hotels that have them, but I can't remember which ones at the moment. I do know that it's something that makes DH happy though.

My dh would be over the moon to find one in a hotel! I am so grateful he only drinks 2 a week, they are soooooooooo expensive.
I have never drank coffee, and he hadn't either until a few years ago. So all our lives without a coffee maker, and now we have two on the counter. His Nespresso and dd's Keurig mini LOL.

Sooo kinda off topic, but discount related! I had a RMN cash back offer not track for ShopDisney. It was all real merchandise, not GCs. Waited 47 days and submitted a support ticket. I got the cash back in my account less than 24 hours later. I was thoroughly impressed! Ebates is usually instant and they follow-up with an e-mail, but considering you usually wait 45 days for RMN I am happy :-)

Did you have to pay $200 to change the flight? Or was that waived?

Even without the promotion for the SkyMiles the advantage I saw with the Delta Vacations deal was as long as you got the insurance you could cancel the package and basically get the value of both the flights/hotel refunded. I have a June trip I booked with it. I don’t know if we will go to WDW then or not since my folks are planning a Yellowstone trip then and I might have daughter/mom guilt (a powerful combination) and do that with them instead. If so, I can cancel the package. Since I paid for 5 flights and night in 2 rooms even eating the insurance cost that is still a lot cheaper than the stupid $200 a ticket Delta change fee.

Another advantage is that I have been able to save $200 on my spring break Disney trip as I called once the room discounts dropped and they could adjust the price.

I will be in Oslo for 2 days in June with my dd. Would love to hear your thoughts / recommendations about things to do / see. I booked the Amerikalinjen with URs.

Any suggestions for saks to use the Amex plat credit? I wanted to get DD some uggs but they don’t a pair I like for her. Need to use the credit so I can close the card.

If I understand correctly (which is iffy), the drawback to booking through Delta vacations is that you get a voucher that needs to be used for flight(s) + hotel. Of course, with a $200 per ticket savings on the change fee, I do see how you could come out ahead even if you booked but didn't use a hotel room.

Also, when you called to have the price of the room adjusted, did you get that refunded back as points or a voucher?

I was never a coffee drinker until I started drinking lattes at Starbucks. The Nespresso is better and cheaper than going out for them. DH drinks a few per day on the weekends, maybe only 1 on weekdays unless he works from home, but I'm ok with it. We tend to buy the sleeves when there is a deal. If you think the normal ones are expensive, price out the Kona ones when they come around. ;)
