Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

When we were in Epcot last month Larry Dobson, the artist of a lot of the art you see in Disney art shops, was selling and signing some of his prints in Norway. Apparently he’s there twice a month. Anyway we bought a few bits, including this print of Beach Club to remind us of our lovely stay 😊 Finally got it framed and hung today! 4CD25292-B716-4D2C-9ABC-6659768FD465.jpeg

Is there much of a difference in walking to DHS from Beach Club vs walking to DHS from Boardwalk resort?

When is your trip?

Nov 29 - Dec 7 @ YC. Our second stay @ YC, first time was 4 years ago and very much enjoyed it. We will be attending our first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. And actually we have never been to DW later then September so we are looking forward to the holiday spirit in general. This site is a wonderful resource, thanks to everyone for keeping info current.

@natebenma, on the next BOG update, could you switch us to BC for January please? A std room opened up at BC, saving us $71 over the GV at YC that we had booked. Since the weather for January is iffy in terms of extended balcony-sitting anyway, I’ll take the chance of not getting a full balcony to save a bit more money. I’ll keep stalking the discount to try to move back to YC, but for now BC is fine. Hope I get a room with a Keurig, though.

And, if I forgot to mention it, we went with CSR for April. DH says the $800 more for BC just isn’t doable unless I want to go to WDW less often. <grin> I’ll take more trips over a better hotel any day. And the Dig Site’s not bad even if it’s no SAB. At least you don’t have to leave the pool area to get to the slide entrance, which is my only SAB pet peeve.

Beautiful and a great momento! We met him and his wife and had a lovely chat with them at Festival of the Arts this year. It was on our actual anniversary and we picked out a cool Haunted Mansion print which he was happy to personalize with Happy 22nd Anniversary. We hope to catch him again next trip!

Longtime lurker, first time commenting on the BC/YC post! We'll be having our third stay at BC October 23-29, just a week to go. Can't wait!

:welcome: to posting on the thread!

I'll add your trip to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

That is awesome! I have a print of Stormalong Bay that I love and is hanging in my bedroom. Not signed though.

Let us know if you book at the Beach Club. You asked previously about the arcade- as of a couple of weeks ago, it was open and there were quite a few amusements there- I posted pictures a few pages back, maybe 1556 or 1557.

Thanks to everyone and their suggestions on YC vs BCV - we are booked for the second half of our split stay at Yacht Club in a Garden View room Feb. 26 - Feb. 29 :cool1:!

Great!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I been calling for weeks to reserve a cabana on 10/29 and one finally opened up! I am so excited. Two questions. One does the market place and YC or C have the Halloween mugs is stock and does anyone know if there is a YC specific magnet to purchase? Thanks! 10 days to go!

I got a Halloween mug in BC marketplace in September! There is definitely a BC magnet as I bought it, so there probably will be a YC too.

Chiming in about the magnet, hope too there's some YC specific ones.... I collect the year and the resort ones each time we go and place them side by side on my fridge... my OCD won't allow for it to be incomplete :rolleyes1

Quick cabana report from a recent trip. Here are the highlights:
  • We booked the full day - 10am-7pm. (The half-day booking options are 10-2 and 3-7)
  • There was an AP discount of 15%.
  • For the life of me I can't find what I paid but it was $200-something total w/ tax & discount. This was a weekday in early October, I believe pricing is seasonal (I'm sure others know better than me). I thought I had seen full day prices into the $300's+ (??), so I was happy with something in the $200's. :-)
  • We booked for our arrival day, didn't get there until 11:15'ish (I knew we'd miss the first part of our booking window). There was no attendant around, so we just made ourselves at home since our name was on the cabana (and it was the only one not occupied).
  • There is a cabana attendant and a food/beverage attendant. We were quickly served by the food/beverage CM (who was awesome by the way). Service was excellent! 1.5 hours later the cabana attendant finally showed up and was like "Oh hi xxxx family... I've been waiting on you for hours!" Inside I was like "We've been here for over an hour, where have you been?" But whatever, no big deal. We had our food and a CAT 5 and that's the important part.
  • When I booked, I requested Cabana #1 or #2. I was told when I booked that they would soon be switching to where you book the actual cabana # when you make the reservation, not sure if that is true or not, or maybe that is old new??
Anyways, some pics:

Cabana #1 is the one that faces directly towards the sandy kids area, as seen below:

Each cabana has a TV with full channel options. We kept it on the parks channel - because what else would you want to watch?

Fridge with waters, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Coke. There was a fruit tray wrapped/ready for us on the top shelf of the fridge when we arrived.

There were two cushy lounges and two standard lounges within the "blue ropes" for this cabana.

Bluetooth speaker (which I could never get to work), laminated rec guide, menu, and cabana attendant phone numbers.

A safe for valuables.

The cabana attendant stand pretty much looks into this cabana, but as noted the CM wasn't there very often.

Check out the life ring: "Beach Side Cabana Vibes" "#YBAnywhereElse" Pretty much sums up my feelings for the day!!

A dessert tray was offered in the afternoon at no cost. Having the MNSSHP special "worms with dirt" dessert was a nice seasonal touch.

So to sum up our experience.... we enjoyed it! Booking on arrival day comes with travel risks, but we fly from an airport with reasonably good on-time stats so it was a calculated risk.

Can't think of a better way to pass the day while waiting for the room to be ready.

The food/beverage attendant only serves the cabanas, so they are pretty much always around (within reason) with prompt service. We also enjoy regular pool service sitting around SAB and know a few CMs we've seen on repeat visits - but at times it can be painfully slow since they are covering so much ground.

Shade options for Cabana #1 were abundant. We could adjust the cabana sides depending on the angle of the sun when needed.

My kids are prime sand pool age and could play there for hours, so this particular cabana was perfect.

Sorry for the ramble, just trying to cover our thoughts.

Happy to answer any questions!

Glad you enjoyed it! So strange about the attendant- he didn’t leave the area at all when we had a cabana last month! He was brilliant.
And YES to thar waiter service. I was so on board with all the cocktails being delivered!
