Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

The unofficial site is right. A room can only be one category so if you are booking a pool view room then it can be in many buildings. If a preferred building has rooms that are pool view then a person who booked a pool view room can end up in a preferred building.
We had booked a king room and were given building 14, which is a preferred building.
Thank you!

If you want to get a seat on the bus, you want to be at the first stop, the west bus depot.

As that is the first stop, there are then three more stops before the bus heads off to the park. So yes, you are possibly more likely to get a seat (especially earlier in the day) but the OP asked for fewest stops, not the best chance of getting a seat, which would mean South Depot would be better.

I was looking at the room views on TP and fell in love with the pool view from building 18! TP has it listed at "Preferred" view, but on unofficial POR site (link below) it says "Swimming Pool" view.

There are six rooms in building 18 that fall into the Pool View classification - the light blue ones below:

So yes, you could get those if you book Pool View - but you could equally get any other Pool View category rooms around the resort of course (requests are not guarantees).

I understand. Just offering another variable for OP to consider. Especially being the first off at the end of the night.

I'm a little confused about the order of bus stops.....on the first page it says, "There are four bus stops at Riverside, so if you board at the first one (either the South Depot next to the main lobby building, or sometimes the West Depot depending on the route being taken) then you may have to go round the other three stops before the bus actually departs for its final destination." Yet most later posts say that the bus mostly stops at the West Depot first. Does it sometimes stop at South Depot first?

The bus stops West, North, East, and South in that order.

A couple times when I came back super late last month they would stop at south first. Otherwise it’s always in that order.

What are the things you love most about POR? Thanks!
*The beautiful theming and landscaping. It’s a beautiful resort.
*strolling along the river paths
*Boat to DS
*The atmosphere of the resort at night esp walking along the river with the lights on, hearing the horse carriages....
*we prefer the mansion section as all the buildings face the river.
*Nice main pool, and option of quiet pool, and hot tub.
*Good food court
*Yeeha Bob
*Short walk to POFQ

Just booked a Royal Room for a girls trip in Feb. How long is the walk to the food court and transportation?
We requested Oak Manor and our room was close to the foot bridge, so not far at all from food court. We used the bus depot behind the parking lot, it is sort of in-between Magnolia Terrace and Oak Manor.
We had a garden view and it was so pretty, looked out on the fountain in the courtyard. Stepping out of our Room could see the river too.

I’m so torn, ugh. POR is our fav moderate. But I got a deal for CBR. And am curious about the Skyliner. So part of me is saying CBR, and part of me is longing to return to POR. It’s been awhile. We’ve been staying deluxe a lot the past few years, but Disney sure hiked up the room rates. So I’ll be staying moderate again.
I’ve been looking at pics of the new Reno’s at both resorts. I do wish they put in the barn door to sink area at POR.

We are there 10 days. At first I thought maybe a split stay, but I’m getting too lazy to pack and unpack. In my younger days I did splits all the time. Now I just prefer to stay put!

I did it! I switched my ressie from OKW to POR! We've stayed at FQ, but never at POR so I'm really excited. A couple of questions:
1. I booked a preferred room. I love the view of the pool from building 18. Any way they would consider giving us a pool view room (in a preferred building) with a preferred reservation?
2. Does anyone every catch fish from the fishin hole?
Thanks. I can't wait to learn more about this awesome resort!

There are six rooms in building 18 which are classified as Pool View, and which are thus assigned to guests who have booked Pool View category. However there are other rooms in the same general area which are Preferred (in yellow below):

Sorry for a similar post to others but I too am a bit confused on the bus route.

Regarding the 4 main parks, I'd like to be at the last stop in the resort (unless you guys advise that they buses can bee too full to pick us us) so what stop would I want to request to be the closest to? We have a very short trip mid-December,Don't mind being on the bus a few extra minutes when we get home at night but would prefer the shortest rides in the morning as we are NOT rope droppers LOL

Appreciate the input!
