Welcome! Hopefully we can keep each other updated on the best deals as we find them. Im booking for the last week in January and first week of February. Prices are as expected this early, very high.

Not much difference in the past week out of MCO but I was able to get a compact for Budget at DoubleTree across from Disney Springs for 209.00 for 9 days. I used the Costco discount but Im sure things will drop the closer we get to the new year.

Hi,
Renting a car for 3 weeks in January 2020. Rates right now are very high ! Looking forward to hearing codes and rates you all find as time goes on.

I have been checking Costco rates for one-week rental in second half of January. As noted above, rates are still quite high. Rates through the mousesavers 'private link' to Hertz were slightly better but still unacceptable.

I just checked for Jan 31 thru Feb 8 and the rates are still crazy high--checked thru Costco.

I'm going at end of January /early February
Just booked standard size car at Alamo
Picking up at Car Care Center and returning at MCO
1/30 through 2/4
$219.xx unlimited miles total
Used 7014615 which is a Visa code
Used coupon AU5592DJK found in back of Birnbaum 2020 book for free upgrade (I booked midsize and upgraded to standard)
Coupon expires 12/31/2020

What is considered to be a ‘weekly’ rental, returning car on MLK is pricing so high, I haven’t booked a placeholder reservation yet.

May just take ME to CC or Dolphin if price is decent & return to MCO.

I’ve been checking rates for about two weeks now and my gosh they are high! We normally pay $250ish for 10 nights but rates haven’t dropped much below $400 so far.

Just booked a trip for January 24th to 31st. Holy moly, car rental rates are abysmal. Booked a worse-case-scenario reservation today ($450 for a standard SUV, Alamo through Costco) but hoping it can only get better from here.

Thank you for that discount code and coupon. I was able to shave $100 off my rental by dropping down to a Standard car (with the upgrade coupon, from a midsize). That total is $355. I think I'll hold both the SUV reservation and the Standard for now, hoping that we see some downward movement before we travel. Our Standard SUV for the same rental duration from 3 weeks ago was $222 including all taxes and fees!!

GINAAAAAAAAAAAAA! We're going the SAME week!

1/14 for ‘one week’
Alamo
APH
Upgrade coupon (from compact to midsize)
$219

I have found nothing reasonable for a one-week rental commencing January 18. This is probably due to MLK Day weekend. I've been checking Costco and carrentalsavers, but everything is in the low 300's all-in. Usually it gets much more reasonable as the date gets closer.

Usually it gets much more reasonable as the date gets closer.

Define usually...things have increased substantially this year for dates I’ve booked (with the exception of my fall trip wherein I caught a rate change on alamo for a fullsize at $149 the day prior to departure 9/24)

Habitual checker of my rates. I also have alerts set on auto slash. I have thus far avoided off site shuttles & the lesser known vendors. I’m not above picking up a rental at car care center or the dolphin. Also, check via shaving a day or two off the beginning or end of my trip & factoring in ME or uber one way...

Nada! Well, unless you consider the following ‘a deal’ compared to current rates.

Xmas trip that is clocking in for a 9 day period (starting the day after thanksgiving) dropped to $319 the end of October.

Again, at this point, I’ll be checking rates until the day prior

Just a note about a car rental I had for the last week of October, I was on the Budget site and saw a mid-size SUV for $193 for seven days while using my phone. I waited until I got home to reserve it on my PC (so I could print it out) and the rate was $285. So, back to the phone and got the $193 rate for a pretty big Chevy Equinox. Very strange at that the exact same time I got 2 different rates.

I have 5 days Budget compact $165 1/10 am-1/14 pm. Not phenomenal, but way better than $300+ I was seeing before.

ETA: Down to $145

Booked a "hold" reservation for a full size with Avis for Marathon weekend. 1/8 8 am - 1/13 2 pm $216.57 with my corporate discount. Obviously, I hope to find something cheaper. Lol.
