HI All- Looking at 1BR for a short stay in February with my mother and my 5 year old...and I am wondering the pros and cons between BC and BW. I know the pool is the major difference ...but pool aside (we will be there in February with not a lot of time for pool time)...which resort would you choose and why? Also- a question about 1BR villa at Boardwalk...the room description says a 5th person can be accommodated but no extra linens will be supplied. How is the 5th person accommodated? Is it a roll-away cot?
Thanks very much for you input!

Hi - I’ve stayed at both and prefer the boardwalk. I like the whole feel of it better. I like the balconies right over the best part of the boardwalk and the inner courtyard areas. It’s also a quicker walk to hs. I even like the pool better - more room to swim around and relax.

In February, the weather can go either way... some years, we’d have a high of 85 while other years the high would be 65 with the night getting very cold!

I don’t know about the 5th person... haven’t stayed in the 1 bdrms.

I've stayed at both multiple times and prefer BC. It's closer to EP, the bus area and the indoor QS location. I also find the rooms to be quieter. BWV is closer to the DHS path, but the walk to the buses is longer and there is no indoor QS.

This is helpful and might sway me to BC!

There is no sleeping surface or linens for the 5th person. You supply both. Dvc will allow some 1 bedrooms to sleep the additional 5th person, but will not supply anything for the extra person! Being an air mattress and some sheets!

we love both resorts and own at both. You can’t go wrong with either!

We’ve done both, and IMO if you don’t care about the pool BWV wins.

I think it’s got a location advantage over BC (the walk to DHS is much quicker especially from the villa side), BWV has the potential for better views than BCV, it has a dedicated MK bus (not necessarily a huge deal that YC and BC share, but worth mentioning, it does share at AK/Springs), BWV feels like a part of the main hotel whereas BCV doesn’t in the same way (IMO of course), and while some people see always having to go out onto the Boardwalk to access most restaurants/stores as a negative I love any excuse to hang out down there.

All that said BC is wonderful too though! You truly can’t go wrong with either.

It says a bit more than a fifth person can be accommodated. And by bedding it means including a mattress of any sort. And the fifth guest being accommodated is only for DVC stays, not standard cash stays through Disney Reservation Center.
1 Bedroom Villa – Standard View

View Floor Plans- Modal
Views of Resort Grounds or Parking Area
1 king-size bed, 1 queen-size sleeper sofa
5th guest can be accommodated, but please note that no additional bedding, linens or towels will be provided.
Sleeps Up to 4

I prefer BC. Boardwalk has no indoor dining. Have to go outside for everything, even the resort shop.

Hands down for me BW. Find the rooms nicer and less crowded all around. easier to walk to studios or epcot. I think I am the only person who feels the BC pool overrated.. I have stayed at both and if you plan on spending very little time at the pool, choose BW

We've stayed at both and, honestly, I don't think you can go wrong choosing either one. I love all the Epcot area resorts and would happily stay at any of them.

The BCV and BWV one bedroom are nearly identical in layout and size.

You're not the only one! I don't like the BC pool at all. I've stayed at both, and while the BC rooms are lovely I much prefer the atmosphere at BW. It's my favorite resort.

The BW 1 bedroom is about 90 square feet larger than BC 1 bedroom. If you rent through DVC you can bring a 5th, just have to bring an air mattress or something!

Like everyone else has said, BC is closer to Epcot, but BW is still close too. I wouldn't use that as a sole decision to choose one over the other.

You just have to decide what matters more to you, do you want the pool with the sandy bottom and the indoor dining at BC. Or do you want the Boardwalk with all of the stores, restaurants on there. I like the idea that I can go to the BW at night and walk around and grab a snack. I like having something unique to do, so for me its BW

You're definitely not the only one, but there aren't very many of us! I chose YC last time I stayed at an Epcot resort so we could have the mini water park. The kids felt it was a "meh" at best. This time we're trying BWI. I keep joking that we're going to the "IT" pool this time.
