Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

I would take Skyliner to DHS and bus to ASM, just to avoid 2 waits for a bus and because I enjoy riding Skyliner. If using buses only, AK is probably the fastest, but Skyliner option would likely be about the same or faster.

But I'm confused on the necessity. MB's are linked only to your MDE account. If your 2nd reservation is in the same name as your first, wouldn't simply doing an online check-in add the 2nd stay to the original MB?
When you have a split stay you get a set of MagicBands for each stay. Sometimes people choose different colours and in our case, we chose to pay for upgraded MBs so it was important that we get the MBs from the second portion of our stay as they were ones we had paid for. I'm guessing the OP might be in the same situation.

So when you say "upgraded MB", you're just talking about getting a fancy one, not that it would work any differently than the 1st one. I understand now.

Yes. Earlier this year they added the option to select MBs with a design on them for a reduced cost. My daughter ordered the Disney Snacks band that is normally $24.99 but I paid $10.00. I ordered the 'it's a small world' band that is normally $29.99 for $15.00. Since we'd paid for these bands I wanted to ensure I got them.

Exactly. Like @scrappinginontario , I am Canadian so our MB get delivered to our resorts instead of home. Then, trying to order upgraded MB for four people has been a real pain. Some of our nicer MB have been purchased on one reservation or on the other. I need to get the MB from our second stay so that everyone get a nicer one (none of us got anything close to our first choices, terrible customer experience).

ETA: I will definitely ask Pop if they could transfer our MB from ASMo instead of going there myself. Thanks for the suggestion @scrappinginontario

Want to take Skyliner to DHS. Staying at ASM. Any reasonable way to make that happen? Just want to ride the Skyliner :)

Bus to Epcot, walk around to the IG then Skyliner to DHS?
We need to be very cautious. Recommending this route uses a day of tickets for the guest. I don’t think we should recommend a option that includes the bus + Skyliner at Epcot. Plus, bus and skyliner at Epcot are VERY far apart.

Taking the boat from Disney Springs to Port Orleans French Quarter. If I remember correctly, the last time we did this (several years ago) there were three boat launches from Disney Springs. You could only get there from one particular dock (Westside?) Is that still the case? Trying to get there without having to transfer in route.

The boat launches were not moved at DS when the bus locations were moved. Boat launches to POFQ and POR are still in the same location.

What's the quickest way from Pop to Yacht Club? We have a breakfast reservation at 7:45AM. I'm thinking to take the Skyliner, and walk from there, but I'm a little confused about the directions given by the MDE app. It's showing a route that takes you around the front of Beach/Yacht Club to go to Ale & Compass, and lists it as a 10+ min walk. Isn't it quicker to walk along the water? Or do you have to be a guest at one of those resorts to do it?

All guests may walk along the water. My bigger concern with this plan is knowing what time the Skyliner opens since your reservation is at 7:45. I’m not sure the Skyliner will be running early enough for you to use it.

Oh boy. Never thought about the Skyliner not running that early. I just checked the current Times guide that's posted on this site: http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/p/weekly-walt-disney-world-times-guides.html

And it looks like it doesn't start running until 8AM. If I take the bus instead, should I go to Hollywood Studios and walk from there?

What time does it show the boats running? That could be another option to get from Pop to Yacht. If the boats are running that early you can take the bus to DHS and boat to Yacht.

mid boats are not running I would highly recommend considering using Lyft or Uber due to the time you will save.

DHS boats usually start 1 hour before park opening, so that would also be 8am.

I'm looking at Disney Transportation map and yikes...confusing! SO I have a few questions...
  1. If I'm starting at the TTC, what's the best way to get to Disney Springs?
  2. How often do buses take (can use answer suggested to question #1)?
  3. How long would it take to get from TTC to Disney Springs (can use answer suggested to question #1)?
  4. If returning from Disney Springs to TTC, how would I know what bus to take? There are many yellow lines in the map (i.e. so many different options to get there...I think)
Thanks!

A. How did you get to the TTC? There might be better options than:
1A. before 4 PM: Monorail or walk to Polynesian, then bus to DS.
1B. after 4 PM: Monorail or ferry to MK, then bus to DS.
2. Approximately every 20 minutes.
3. With any route requiring a transfer/connection, Disney strongly recommends allowing 90 minutes.
4. Bus to Contemporary, monorail to TTC.

Thank you. We would start at the TTC as looking at taking a Disney ship excursion which basically drops you at the TTC.

For Contemporary to Disney Springs (and vice versa for return trip), it's not a single bus?
