"Official" 2019 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party: Oh-So-Jolly Holiday Celebration

We thought the fireworks were a bust tonight. We were in front of Casey’s. If there were projections we couldn’t see them through all the smoke. We were very disappointed in them. We will blame it on the weather thus time.

7DMT had a posted 35 minute wait at 9:15 but seeing as the line wrapped around the stroller area outside the entrance I would guess it was longer than that.

Snacks were a nice bonus. The Tomorrowland Speedway overlay was cute. Lights were set to music.

As previously mentioned crowd felt like a regular 7 out of 10 crowd. It did not feel like a smaller crowd then a regular weekend day.

The rain makes the party a little less fun but it certainly cleared people out for the end of the night!

So far we’ve met: Jack and Sally, Nick and Judy, Aurora and Prince Philip, Snow White and her prince, Scrooge and Donald, Minnie and Daisy, Santa Goofy, Ariel and Eric, Rapunzel and Flynn, Tiana and Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Elena, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and are in line for Mickey.

glad we watched the first parade because the second was a rain version. Dessert party was nice and we enjoyed the reserved viewing but not something we’ll do again probably. The new firework show seems like it would’ve been much more impressive without the rain.

apparently there was some huge fight during/after the 1at parade. Luckily we missed it completely but lots of security!

Here’s a rundown of the night. It was a drizzling in the evening and then the rain kept picking up throughout the night. Luckily, we brought rain jackets!

We arrived at the party at about 7pm. (Today, we did mk in the morning, ak in the afternoon, rested at our room in the contemporary for a while and then walked over to the party).

We walked up the back street behind Main Street where they handed out cookies, had lots of photo ops and had Xmas music playing - very festive!

We picked up some cookies at a few places on our way over to splash mountain. We walked right on twice in a row and then went on btm and just waited about 5 mins to ride.

After that, it was about 7:45 so we decided to watch the 1st parade. We walked up to a great front row spot in frontier land - right across from town hall. I videoed and took lots of pics. Fantastic parade as usual! Loved it!

Then, we picked up some more treats as we walked over to Tomorrowland for the speedway, Space and Monsters Xmas overlays. The speedway was festive but the rain was not that much fun - although it probably helped to keep the wait time down - only about a 5 min wait. We sat in a puddle and had a driving rain in our faces. Lol. We still had fun.

Space mt was about a 20-30 min wait but we were just happy to be out of the rain for a bit. We heard that the ride was having tech difficulties but it was up and running again. Super fun with the Xmas music and Xmas lights... it was much brighter inside than usual so we could see the tracks very well. Almost seemed like we were outside!
We missed the fireworks while we were on SM but it was pouring out so we didn’t mind.

Monsters inc was lots of fun with a Xmas theme to all of the jokes.

Club tinsel was cute. We had some treats and enjoyed watching the reindeer dance.

Then, we walked right on Winnie the Pooh and under the sea and at 11:20 waited about 15-20 mins for SDMT. Our last ride of the night was jingle cruise which we walked right on and had a very funny skipper! Great way to end the wet night.

On our way out, we danced to the Xmas music in the hub and took lots of pics as we walked down Main Street.

This was such a fun way to kick off the Christmas Season!

On my phone so a quick opinion here. Rain sucked. Fireworks on Main Street were a bust but as you got away from the park they were easily seen. Just way too much smoke on Main Street at around the castle. I wouldn’t pay money for a fireworks viewing spot. Seemed like it was easy enough to get a spot.

Good news is that 7DMT was a 30 minute wait. I’ve never been able to ride this one. Most other rides were walk one. We didn’t really try to do much more as the rain got worse.
It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but I won’t do a party again.

I really want to do this again but very hesitant. It really bothers me that they sell so many tickets to these parties which makes them just as packed as normal days. I get they are all about money but for once it would be nice to go there without the huge crowds.

IMO it was crowded but not like a usual day. Walkways were crowded but ride times were MUCH less than a typical day.

So were there castle projections during the fireworks or not? From the video you couldn’t see anything!

There were; I was close enough to see them through all the smoke, since I viewed fairly close to the Partners statue. They were okay, but like I said before I think the HEA ones are much more impressive and “make it break” to enjoying the show than these.

Then again maybe it’s unfair to judge because of the inclement weather last night. I just switched on the resort tv and the WDW Today channel is listing a showing of the Xmas fireworks tonight at 10 instead of HEA. Wondering if that’s a glitch or a genuine attempt at a mulligan. I’d go but I’m not braving non party night MK crowds for it, and the rest of this weekend I’m focused on Epcot and DHS as the actual purpose of this short trip.

Thank you for pointing this out!! My tv here at the contemporary says HEA at 9pm and then Minnie’s Xmas fireworks at 10pm!!

I wonder if it has anything to do with the filming they’re doing today and tomorrow at the mk. Maybe they planned to film the Xmas fireworks last night but couldn’t get a good shot due to the weather...

Whatever the reason, I’m happy we’ll get to see both fireworks shows tonight!!

Jungle Cruise is still Jingle Cruise not during the party, correct? So we can skip that during the party and go during the day if it's busy?
