No car. Is the price difference worth it?

If I did not want to drive, I would stay on property. The cost in time is just too much for me. I always stay offsite because I enjoy having a whole house/condo to getting in the parks 1 hour earlier. GPS takes away all the worry about getting there. Plus you have the cooler in the trunk for those park hopping days. Being stuck on property for the whole day without a mid-day break is too much for me.

The Disney springs resorts and other “good neighbor” hotels are probably your best bet for decent transportation but be sure to check all details.

I stayed at an I-drive hotel recently for a conference but I scoped it out for future Disney trips. They offer free shuttles to Disney, universal and sea world which sounds great BUT... the Disney shuttle runs only twice a day, you have to book it the day before and it only went to two parks (Hollywood studios and Epcot I think) so all in all not very convenient.

Once you’re outside of Disney Springs and Bonnet Creek, the shuttles are pretty scarce. Still can be a good option if you’re go-with-the-flow types who don’t have jam-packed days planned or don’t plan to return for midday rests/swims.

I think an offsite hotel with limited shuttle can be a good option when paired with Uber/Lyft. If you can make the shuttle work one way (either to or from the park), the money saved from the lower room cost can more than offset the cost of a $15 Uber the other way.

We stayed at a little place off 192 behind cheap souvenir shops. The shuttle was very limited, but the price was good and included breakfast. Plus, we were easily able to grab a couple extra pieces of fruit for snacks later. By eliminating some of the food costs associated with a theme park trip, the price was an even better bargain.

If it is only a $15 Uber trip that is not bad at all. Parking is 2x that at the parks. if you are staying on 192, just catch the Disney bus at animal kingdom to what ever park you are going to and save even more on the UBER

I just popped the hotel into Uber’s fare estimator, and was quoted under $8 to AK and DHS, and under $11 to TTC. Obviously the timing can change prices, as can the exact hotel on 192, but it’s safe to say a single Uber ride is cheaper than parking for the day, even when you add the driver’s tip.

Hello!

You could also check out "Oakwater Resort" in Kissimmee through homeaway, vrbo or airbnb. It is a smaller resort community location right behind the new Walmart on Old Lake Wilson road. 2 and 3BR units, reasonably priced. We own a unit there. It's usually about $30 for uber to/from airport, and $10 or less to/from the parks. and with Walmart right next door, easy to get groceries, water, snacks, etc.

That is good info to know. Thanks for going thru the effort
