** December 2019 Check In **

Hi. I am new to this forum, but a regular on another Disney forum. We are visiting from Dec 26th until the 31st. We are staying at the DL Hotel. I would have loved the GC; however, it was just sooo much more expensive.

This is our first ever trip to DL, and California. We hail from the Deep South.

I am so happy to find this thread, because on the other board, I keep getting told over and over that I am nuts for going during that week. It has me really nervous. :( I know the crowds will be insane, that is why we scheduled 4 park days.
Welcome to the DIS! You might want to join our 2019 Holiday Time at DLR Superthread: 11/08/19 - 1/06/20! where all the Holiday Time news is being posted and discussed. Lots of fun going on over there! Just be aware that DL experiences capacity gate closures two days on average during that week -- usually on the day the Rose Parade teams visit (the 27th?) and at least one other day -- so be careful about going back to the hotel during the afternoon if you really need to get back into DL later on, e.g. for a TS reservation. Gate closures rarely last more than a few hours, usually until the parade or fireworks end and lots of guests exit so that more guests can enter the park. Will you have MP? ("Maxpass/Fastpass: an overview and some strategy" by @Skyegirl1999 - www.disboards.com/threads/maxpass-fastpass-an-overview-and-some-strategy.3726246/) During really busy times, it can help you get a lot more done (and the free PP is nice, too). And your EMH/EE perk for staying on site will be very useful -- usually during Christmas Week, Disney extends early entry days, so check for that. You're going to have a wonderful trip!

Getting so excited!!!!!! We leave in less than 3 weeks!!!!!!!
I am busy making t-shirts and ears!

I need to find t-shirt blanks and then I’m totally getting crafty. I have a new Cricut I’m excited to use to make shirts.

So excited to be doing a partial solo trip December 11th through the 16th. Will have a friend join me on my birthday (the 14th) and another on my last day. Haven't been to DL since 2005. Have been going to WDW for the last several years. I'll be staying at PPH and enjoying EMH everyday, but that brings up a question for the friends who will be joining me on those two days. At WDW, only one person in your party needs to be staying on site in order for the entire group to enter during EMH. Is that the case at DLR as well? Can my friends, who will NOT be staying on site, be able to enter early with me? Thanks!!

I make custom ears and cinch sacks. I generally have a different themed outfit for each day. Have all six days of my trip planned out. Everything is made and ready to go and I still have 25 days to make alterations if need be. :ccat:

I'm looking forward to GOTG: Mission Breakout. Haven't been on that yet. Made these Ravager Baby Groot ears especially for the occasion. I can't wait!!

Your friends need to be on your room reservation and each have a key card to show for early entry.

I’m not crafty but I sure like to shop! Found us matching Disney ugly sweaters to wear!

Hopefully it won’t be too warm to wear them....

So looking forward to be in Downtown Disney and the ambiance as much as I want to be in DL and DCA. Going from 11/30 - Dec 4, 1 night PP, 3 nights at GCH Split Stay. Happy Holidays Everyone :santa:!

DH and I will be going Dec 14-16 and staying at the Fairfield Inn. We spent 3 1/2 days at Disneyland the beginning of November (first time back since 1993!) and enjoyed it so much we upgraded our tickets to the Flex Pass and will be traveling from Oregon.

We are doing a surprise trip for our kids (21 and 17) arriving on Christmas Eve on our way home to Oregon from a wedding in Arizona on 12/21 and staying at VGC arriving on Christmas Eve. They will think we are just driving home and we will just make a stop for a few days. Only one day in each park, Christmas day in Disneyland and the day after in California Adventure. Booked the DVC Christmas Eve dinner (which I debated as it is pricey, but this is the only time we will ever do this). I am worried about how crowded it will be. Any suggestions to make the most of the trip and special for the kids?

Have you looked into booking the WOC Dessert Party? A bit of a splurge, but worth it. And the holiday show, Seasons of Light, is such a nice one! Check out this year's Holiday Time superthread to see what is being offered and when: 2019 Holiday Time at DLR Superthread: 11/08/19 - 1/06/20!. Candy Cane dates have been announced -- I think the last date is 12/25.

Every time I go to DL or WDW I say I don't need to buy new stuff, yet every single time I do! I have three new shirts, a new christmas sweater and a jogger set with mickey on it that I've bought just in the last week! It's a sickness I tell ya! Oh and I couldn't wait to get to the park so I bought the Loungefly christmas snack backback on ShopDisney so I am ready to go! LOL 17 days to go!!!

Last week I booked a trip December 7 - 11. Initially I was going solo. Then my 23 yo son said he'd like to go, and then my 27 yo daughter and boyfriend want to come too! I'm so excited to go during the Holiday Decorations - it has been years since I have seen them. We are staying at the Portofino. This will be my third trip for 2019 - putting my FlexPass to good use :)
