Shop the Block 2019 -Bonus miles are POSTING NOW!

Hi Mort
just checking something
Did you have to buy both the Waltzing Matilda ($16.95 10 airmiles) and the Cupcake Chardonnay ($15.95 10 airmiles) for the STB LCBO to work or was just buying one of them ok?

Thanks
Mel
Not Mort but my thinking is that it has to be both for a few reasons. 1) there are single bottles of wine on the offers, but this offer and a few others are paired. I don't think they would put them in pairs on the coupon unless they wanted both to be purchased. and 2) the wording on the coupon says "x wine And x wine". The "and" made me pretty sure it had to be both to trigger the offer. I could be wrong though. I wanted the Cupcake Chardonnay for a gift and my husband wanted to try the Waltzing Matilda but we couldn’t find both.
So we bought the Fleur du Cap Chardonnay and the Fleur du Cap Cabarnet last night. We had to go to two stores to find both.

EDIT.. And i really should read to the end of the page before responding as I see you guys already figured all this out. Sorry!:duck:

SECOND EDIT .. would appear the miles have already posted . They do not say Shoptheblock. Just got 10 miles for each bottle so 20 total .

I’m going back and forth on this one....
Do I split my Blue Friday shop in 2...$50 each for myself and DD so that I can cover 2 StB coupons but then I lose the 100 mile bonus for spending $100. BTW, this is going to be Foodland and it’s waaaay out of my way to do this one....as in 30 minute drive to get there.
I'm kind of in the same boat wondering if we should do a big shop or the minimum of $50 for the coupon. I think I am going to spare my husband searching all over to make a $100 purchase on his lunch hour and just give him a $50 list and be done with it. Foodland near his work is awful and we would most definitely be overpaying for something to get to $100 and he's got like 15 minutes to do it. $50 will make it easier. Luckily we only need it on one card. I think in your case I would split.

That's how my Jacob's Creek 1.5L AND 750 mL sparkling rosé posted. Each separate, no indication that it is STB, but the correct miles. In the past, LCBO purchases NEVER recorded as the AM promotion, so I am not worried. :-) I searched online before I went to LCBO to see which store had what I wanted....because most do not have the sparkling Jacob's Creek in stock.
On another front, I shopped at The Children's Place on Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised to see the AM post yesterday. Unfortunately, even though it was a buy $55, get 5X AM, they only gave me 5 for STB (Should have been 12, since I had over $60 in purchases. A quick chat and the missing miles were added. The original is listed as ShopTheBlock :thumbsup2

I need suggestions! We plan on going to LCBO tomorrow for STB while visiting Ottawa (debating between the Aviation and Science and Technologies museum) and I want to buy two GOOD bottles of wine (ideally red wine) for Christmas gifts. I don't drink and DH only likes a few specific wines that are not in the current STB promotion so which ones should I buy? Ideally I would like to max 20-25$ per bottle.

Just stopped at LCBO to complete this offer for both DH and myself. The clerk was amazing and helped me track down the wine pairs. I bought both Fleur du Caps ($25.95 including tax), and the Cupcake/Waltzing Matilda combo ($32.90 including tax). The clerk was also at the cash when I paid and proactively told me that nothing would appear on the receipt.

I bought the Cupcake/Waltzing Matilda combo too. Nothing appeared on the receipt. Looking at the STB LCBO Coupon, both bottles are pictured, so I’m thinking you need to buy both for the coupon. To add to the confusion, each bottle *if purchased separately* also earns AMs, according to those little blue AM stickers they post on the LCBO shelves. So you could get AMs, but not the STB AMs. Could this possibly get any more convoluted? Argh!

Oops! posted same info as Debbie!

I am having trouble with HBC sign up. I created an account then went to the second website and filled it out but it says there is a problem in red but there is no red anywhere? Sorry if this is confusing. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Try fiddling with the space in the postal code and the phone number. I seem to recall someone else having this issue.

Just got back from Foodland. As usual I had to reconfigure the list once I got into the store but I still got my 2 X $50 shops done and StB coupons are noted on both receipts. Total for both purchases was $103.10 and I earned 390 miles. Some how I managed to get 6 boxes of Prime chicken in my freezer....only had to remove the box from one of them. I wanted to go to Sobeys after to cover another coupon but it's been a very busy week and I'm pooped....maybe later but probably not.

As to my previous question about those $5 coupons counting as payment or off of the subtotal.....they were taken from the subtotal. I asked the cashier and she had no idea....she understood what I was asking and clued in when I mentioned the minimum spend for the StB coupon. She tried to see what the register was doing but couldn't tell so I just went ahead with my plan to spend the $50 after the coupons came off.

I split Blue Friday into two shops. Went before work to nearby Foodland. Spent $51 and got 198 AM. Went to Sobeys which is further away after work. Spent $55 and got 153 AM. Promotion 6 was shown on both receipts. Done 4 shops on two cards. Still need to do Metro, Rexall and Sobeys Urban Fresh. Happy hunting everyone!

I am doing this for my DH and having trouble too. I think I am going to give it a few business days and then try with the AM sign up (second link) again. I guess I will do an AM chat if that doesnt work-I will tag you if it does work @peanutgirl

I see the instore shell STB says exclude shell gift cards. Anyone know if that means to exclude any gift card you can purchase in shell or just a “shell” gift card to use there ie for gas?

Both my airmilesshops posted with the 2x points, but no STB bonus points (50) Is that a normal occurrence?
