The ABCs of a New 'Ohana Adventure-G is for: Greetings From Teppan, Good-Byes, and Good News!!! - COMPLETED 1/7

:lmao:
Shock and awe...?
Or is that "Aw, shucks"?
But they can always ask questions! We’re a friendly lot here.
::yes::
Indeed, that's why we're here!
My neck begs to differ.
:( oh dear...
The shock value simply increases.
More shucks for your bucks!
Maybe they’ll give me an old bone and some rope.

I wonder if it wanders between exhibits...?
Possibly, but... I've seen too many people posting photos in different places too closely together...
Go back! I posted video!
I saw!
Old park has nothing to do with it. They could rewire/add outlets overnight if they wanted to. :rolleyes2
Yeah... okay, that I'll buy.
Pretty hard to bop you on the head from here. Poke all you want.
Woot! Safe!
Did I mention they’ve tweaked the soundtrack?
So they finally went with my suggestion of Hard Rock?

Nice.
Oopsies. Had to do that a lot already??
Yeah... grrrrr…
Thanks! I had a fun time wandering just to take pix.
Good! :)
I don’t recall you dining shirtless at Club 33???
I think you stepped out of the room before that happened.
Imma fix that when I go next time. Promise!
I should hope so!!!
Well, I found a cozy little nook with super comfy couches and a fireplace to charge my phone. It was bliss. At some point some security guards came over and asked if I was ok and if I knew the guy sleeping across from me. That would be a resounding no.

Then I well,.... it was a hot day and I was.... I needed a shower. I trotted in and asked for a pool key to use those showers and got one no problem. As I went in the gate, I asked a lifeguard where the showers were. She pointed to some outdoor showers which wasn’t very helpful at all. She was sure there weren’t any indoor showers at the pool area.

What was I supposed to do strip down and shower without a swimsuit? So I went into the bathroom and gave myself a little sponge bath. I think the lady that walked in felt a little awkward. As soon as I turned around to grab some paper towels, I saw the indoor showers that the lifeguard was sure didn’t exist.

After I was all tidied up. I went back up to the DVC lounge and grabbed a small plate of food to tide me over for a small dinner.
Did they do anything with the sleeping guy?

I'm laughing thinking of you taking your bird bath only to turn around and... "Oh."... :lmao:

Lovely little photo journal of your trip! I still haven't been to Disneyland, and it is certainly on my "someday" list, but I sure hope I can make it a Christmas trip when I do go. It looks so extra magical :lovestruc

Loved your picture with Santa!!
Thanks, Jackie! :) I know many of the EPIC Ladies haven't been to the West Coast Park, but have wanted to. We should get an EPIC Trip planned there for those of you who have said they want to go!! Christmas is magical there and the crowds weren't horrible.

Everyone has chosen wisely.

It's such a great ride. And I love that the DLR one is different in a lot of ways.

I don't want to admit it, but I do know what that's like.

Everyone does. You were the only one with the guts enough to admit it.

There's a resounding endorsement!

The enthusiasm drips, no?

I imagine bacon would be an improvement on the asparagus.

I love asparagus. Espcially with a hollandaise sauce.

Uh oh. That doesn't sound good.

I'll know more on Dec. 4th.

Yay! Hope you had an awesome time seeing all of them.

I did!! It was fantastic seeing them!

That resort looks really great at Christmas time.

I adore WL now. (more on that in TR) and they are very similar, although, GC is decidedly more Craftsman style and less Lodge-y.

I dunno. How badly do you want to get rid of the kid?

Or your park privileges.

:surfweb:

Just read your good news. You like Small World. Hooray. Unfortunately when we were at DL last month it was closed to get ready for the holidays. An even bigger bummer was it was closed when my son and I went to Tokyo Disney. We missed it by one day

OH man! Such a bummer! I don't need to go on it every trip, and generally don't, but this was a must-see for the overlay I'd never seen before. But I know how you feel, I missed the opening day of the Skyliner by one day, and was sad. It's been something I'd been looking forward to for a very long time.

I totally agree with you about the stinginess of "adult" in adult beverages. My husband doesn't drink so it's something I enjoy on my solo trips. Starting to think I may need to find a different vice!

LOL! See?! I suppose there is always buying stuff, but I don't want or need more "stuff". Maybe tours or the themed dinners like the Highway in the Sky Dine Around...??

Do you work with people who went to the same nursing school as you? My sister was an RN (and eventually CRNA). I would always ask nurses where they went to school, and I think in all my years of asking only found one other person who went to the same school. Not sure why.

I do actually. I work with my bestie who I was in a study group with, and now with about 8 others who were all hired at a hospital in a town about 30 minutes from me. But, our area, while not rural, is a relatively small city with only one nursing school in it. And that nursing school is considered the best program in the area after OHSU in Portland.

Back to :surfweb: and your TR which I'm thoroughly enjoying. Thank you for taking the time to write it.

I'm so glad you are here and enjoying it all. I took a day off of work and am geared up for some writing. I am desperately behind on all of the threads I follow because of some long hours at work and travel, but ready to hunker down and get some chapters up and catch up around here!

Since we're two adults, we often tend to just chat, or catch up on social media/emails on our phones, etc. One of our favourite games to pass the time is the "Who Am I?"/20 Questions game. At Disney we try to keep them Disney/Pixar-themed. As of late we've also managed to get ourselves back into playing the brilliant time-sucking game that is Pokemon Go, so we did a lot of that at Disney last month when we were waiting for things.

Nice choices! I love the Who Am I? game idea! My daughter started playing Pokemon again there (the 23 year old) and loved it. There are so many there!

I Don't know if this picture show up properly in my quotes or not (I managed to copy and paste some things and get it all messed up!) But the Oogie Boogie chocolate sculpture is very impressive.

It was HUGE!!! Honestly the scale was pretty lost on in that photo.

A lovely looking group you had!

It was such a fun group!

Oh no! That sounds wild!

I think the design of the logs might contribute to the soaking, but also I think the water level is kept higher.

Yum! Sounds delicious! I love asparagus.

Mmmm! Me too!!

I can't believe you made it through a trip without a dole whip! That's no easy feat!

I'm going to fix that on my next trip for sure!

I hate to say it, but I agree with you about Guardians of the Galaxy. I didn't dislike it by any means, but I couldn't get enthused about it either.

I think it was unanimous on this thread that while entertaining to a degree, it wasn't amazing.

If this is what being an old fart is like then I don't want to be young! lol

LOL!! You have a very good point!

How wonderful!! This was quick thinking on Santa's part. :) An awesome interaction.

It super was!! Definitely NOT a comeback I was expecting!

Or is that "Aw, shucks"?

That work too.

More shucks for your bucks!

YAY!!

Wait, are shucks fun?

::yes::

Possibly, but... I've seen too many people posting photos in different places too closely together...

Then your theory is...?

So they finally went with my suggestion of Hard Rock?

Nice.

No, that's at US. Unless there's been a company merger I didn't know about.

I think you stepped out of the room before that happened.

Dang it!! I always wanted to see someone get booted from there.

Did they do anything with the sleeping guy?

When they saw him awake, they came over to ask him if he was okay, and went on to explain that it's their policy to check on people sleeping to make sure they aren't having any sort of medical emergency like a blood sugar issue or siezure or something.

I'm laughing thinking of you taking your bird bath only to turn around and... "Oh."... :lmao:
One of those "duh" moments.

Okay, Folks!! After 5 days of trying to get all caught up on replies, I am. Shocking, I know.

That means I can concentrate on writing an update and then catching up on the dozens of threads I'm behind on of yours. It'll take some time and replies may be brief as I'll do more reading than multi-quoting. Bear with me as I get re-oriented after my travels and tough week.

On a brighter note, my daughter is in labor and it shouldn't be too much longer til Baby Declan arrives. I'll post a few baby pix as I get them. :)

ETA!!! If you are friends with me on FB, please don't post anything there. They are very private and don't want their own friends to know.

A is for: Airports and Arrivals

Here it is, My Friends, the chapter you’ve all been waiting several months for. In one sense, “the travel chapter” is that dreaded one; the one that’s both expected and loathed. However, out of a sense of duty to be thorough and to make certain I lose another third of my readers, I feel compelled to make sure you feel fully included in the emotional buildup of actually getting to Disney World. If you can’t stand the riveting drama, please feel free to skip this chapter altogether. If, however, you must know how our little entourage made their way from West Coast to East, by all means, gather ‘round, grab some of those chips and dip you’ve stashed away for Thursday (If you’re American that is; if you’re Canadian maybe a Coffee Crisp), and settle in for another episode of: We Eventually Got There.

Now, let’s get this WDW Trip ticked off!

Kicked!! I meant kicked off....

The countdown that I’d made a few trips back had no more days to take off which meant we were all getting ready for a night of zero sleep. Nothing like starting off a trip with a completely depleted rest tank. If you think going to Disney is going to be a vacation that replenishes that, either you have never been, or you don’t vacation like we do.

I deliberately chose a flight on Alaska because: 1) they have the only non-stop to MCO from Portland, and 2) there was small chance in Hades we’d get the Disney plane. Then again, we’d have about as much chance of that as Disney lowering ticket prices. So, let’s go with they have a non-stop that can get us there by 3:45PM. My real motivation was that I wanted to hit up DTD for dinner, but that’s hours and hours from where we begin.

The bags had already been loaded in the car by 4:00PM and when I got off work, Anara (17), Zach (21), and I headed up to “sleep” at Michaela’s (Mikki, 24) place closer to PDX. After missing a couple (too many!) flights, I never risk more than necessary getting to the airport late. I had made some spaghetti earlier in the week and we made a feast of that, then assembled the lunch that we’d all agreed on a couple weeks before departure day- caprese sandwiches, liverwurst (tease all you want; we love it!) Cheetos (yes, I actually like them too), and apples.

Soon enough, we’d all settled into where we’d spend the next several hours wishing the night would just end. I know you can relate- it’s every Disney traveler anywhere, ever. Finally, at 3:00AM, we piled into Mikki’s roommate’s car and she drove us the half hour where we checked our bags, got our boarding passes, and breezed through security. I PayPal'd her roomie the $50 I said I'd pay her thinking that was very fair as an Uber would have cost more and I'm not sure they even run at 3:00AM. At least it made me nervous enough that I employed the roommate.

The airport is creepy at 3:40AM, and strangely, I’m ok with that. I’d rather have creepy than busy. We boarded at 6:00. I’ll bet you were holding out hope for us that we’d gotten the Disney plane.

No.

Instead we joked about there being something fishy about this.

Here's what 4:00AM looks like:

The back rows of the fish plane were to be our home for the next few hours, so may as well get comfy. Sure, that might sound sucky, but I did love my entire row to myself. I was pretty happy.

The girls did find some sleep; I did not. My neck just doesn’t allow me that luxury. Zach entertained himself with playing Ground Control on his phone and about halfway through our 5.5-hour flight, we busted out lunch.

We found friendly skies and landed 10 minutes early, but quickly lost it when we made our first, and sadly not our only, mistake of non-communication. I lollygagged while they went ahead to the bathrooms, but there are 2 sets, one on each side of the fake-o-rail entry area. Wanna take bets on which one I stood in front of for 10 minutes? After a stern talking to about keeping phones on, communicating clearly, blah, blah, blah (which was coincidentally the EXACT same conversation I had with them in 2016 and probably every trip we’ve ever taken as a family to WDW), we were ON our ME by 4:00. YUS!!! Worth 10 minutes of irritation at my kids? I dunno. I thought it was pretty.

With our heads full of useless, yet entertaining, Disney trivia given via overhead videos, we made our merry way into the CBR lobby at 4:40PM- exactly what I'd predicted and planned for. I sent the kids outside to explore while I checked us in and in no time, we were headed to Jamaica. We got exactly the room I’d requested- a corner, 2nd floor, waterview. No, I didn’t pay for waterview, it just happened, and I couldn’t have been more pleased. BUT, I’m saving most of my photos for a CBR chapter all unto itself at some later point. Instead… a couple of teasers.

Our bags obviously hadn’t arrived, but we had our change of clothes in our carry-ons and were on our way to DTD in no time. And because my heart was set on a drink and appie at Jock’s before our 6:30 ADR at Raglan, I chose to Lyft it and we were seated at Jock’s at 5:30. This is one of my favorite lounges; I’ve done write ups of it before so will only say that I love the theming, love the appetizers menu, and the location is fantastic for a pre-dinner cocktail, especially to kick off a trip! Aren't Disney smiles fantastic smiles?

Clearly, Trip Reporter mode hadn’t kicked in as evidenced by the following crappy photos. I do know that I got the:

Hovito Mojito Barsol Quebranta Pisco, fresh Lime Juice, Mint, and Simple Syrup topped with Soda Water; mug is additional $12 if you wish to purchase $14.00

(pictured below- green souvie glass with the empanadas)

Yes, I got the mug. Yes, it looks awesome on my windowsill. Yes, it was delicious. No, it isn’t the most amazing Pisco drink on property. That, my friends, is at the Nomad.

Mikki enjoyed a:

Safari Sangria South African Red Wine with Van Der Rum Tangerine Liqueur $11.75

Yes, she enjoyed it. No, it doesn’t come with a mug. No, neither drink had more than a bees fart worth of booze.

Zach got... something. Sorry, I simply don’t remember what it was. Yes, he got a buzz. Yes, he’s 21 and never drinks. Yes, his drink, whatever it was tasted like crap.

From the look of the picture (the cocktail next to my bright green souvie mug below), it may have been this:

Reggie's Revenge Florida Cane Orange Vodka, Midori Melon Liqueur, White Cranberry Juice, and fresh Lime Juice; mug is additional $8 if you wish to purchase $14.00

I ordered something small for us each to have one bite of, and that’s about as far as it went. While it was delicious, it was also very small. If I’d been alone, it’d been great. But I wasn’t. Wanna see a really bad photo of it? Trust me, the photos DO get better. I was out of practice and just warming up.

Satipo's Empanadas Crispy-fried empanadas hand-stuffed with beef, onions, peppers, potatoes, olives, cheese, herbs, and spices served with a side of chimichurri aioli $10.50

The hour went quickly, and at 6:30 we made our way across to Raglan Road. When I started asking the kids which places they wanted to eat at and throwing out suggestions, Zach was the first to chime in and REALLY wanted to eat at Raglan again. It was, and remains, one of his favorite places in all of WDW. That’s saying a lot. It’s unique, delicious, fun, and upbeat.
The perfect mix to start of a trip.

When we checked in I made myself a nuisance and asked for a table near the stage and told them we’d be more than happy to wait up to 30 minutes for one. In 2016, we’d gotten a perfect hightop table on the 2nd tier. This time, 5 minutes later, we were seated at the exact same table. SCORE!!!!

It wasn’t long before we’d ordered and the music began. It also didn’t take long for hands to clap and feet to tap...

...and Snapchat to know all about it. It was something I was going to have to get used to.

Kids these days…While they made ridiculous duckfaces, I pressed our group to choose an appetizer. They collectively came up with this one:

Salmon Swoon Traditional Irish smoked salmon served with creme fraiche capers & shallots $13.00

I can feel your judging on the top quality of these photos.

Again, it was just enough for a bite or two each. I was okay with that. I think the over 21s all ordered a Pear Cider.

We’d chosen eons ago what our mains would be and we stuck with them:

Bangin' Bangers & Mighty Mash: Cheshire heritage pork Irish banger, mashed potato and traditional onion gravy $22.00

I’m curious about exactly what heritage the pork actually had. Was its grandfather a wealthy banker? Did his mother’s side have a hint of South American that no one really knows the story about? "Cheshire"... was its heritage one of constant grinning?

And:

Shepherd's to Die for Pie: Braised and pulled beef and lamb with root vegetables in a rich red wine jus with Irish peat smoked mashed potato $20.00

And here, I had to wonder just a little how they import the Irish peat to smoke the potatoes. You know, things that make you go… hmmm…..

We nibbled and noshed while the dancers jumped and jigged. We clapped right along while trying to keep from spilling our drinks. You, over there who is about to comment on my drink spilling: Remember I have good aim!

Most of my photos suck. Sorry. So, here’s the story. My camera really hurts my neck to carry anymore. I brought ONE lens that I thought could serve multiple purposes and it happened to be a wide angle. For photographing at the Raglan, I really should have had my longer lens so I could get up close. Instead I tried, in vain, to use my phone and the camera. NOTHING turned out on the phone as you’ll see, and not much turned out with the lens either. Here is the link to the chapter from my trip in 2016; unfortunately Photobucket ate my photos, so I’m going to post the few best again here. I present a mix of this year's failed attempts and 2016's better ones.

J is for: Just a Little Jig (2016)

Incidentally, the photo I adored most from that trip has an interesting story:

I was taking the photos of my girls when I glanced at the portrait behind them. I recognized that dancer, Hannah, and evidently, she hung up her shoes at Raglan just a year after we watched her perform in 2016.

Here’s the photo I’d taken of her then:

Okay, I’ll bet you’re ready for some drama, aren’t you? This chapter is definitely starting to drag a bit, so let’s throw in some story that is bordering on worth reading, shall we?

It was time to pay the bill and I told the server I had TIW. Unfortunately, I’d forgotten to put it into my phone case wallet to show them. I told them what I’d done, and the server said, “Just a minute.”

Okay, no problem.

After about 5 minutes, he comes back with a manager who asks me a bit about my card, what happened, etc…. I’m sure I don’t know or understand the system or how it works, but doesn’t it stand to reason that they could look up active cards/cardholders at any given moment with a database? Basic. VERY basic. So basic even I know that it can be done.

Instead of a simple, “I understand these things happen, but in the future, you will really need your card, but tonight, no problem, we’ll ring you up right away.” I got, and I poop you not, “You really need your card, Ma’am, but tonight we’ll let it go. But I want to thank you! Tonight, you get to be the one who let me do a good deed and helped me feel good about myself.”

Word for word. Not even a little bit exaggerating or changing. I literally don’t know how he sleeps at night, but that’s how our night at Raglan ended.

Anyway, my hackles were a little raised.

Raglan by the numbers: We were able to share 1 appie and 2 mains and the bread service was complementary. That more than fed the four of us with a tiny bit leftover. Total bill (not including tax): $79 and that includes 3 hard ciders. 4 diners, $80. Not too bad considering it comes with entertainment!

Now, you didn’t really expect this day to be absolutely perfect, now did you? Sure I’ve forgotten underwear in the past. I’d just now forgotten my TIW card, did you really think I’d be able to just get on a bus without forgetting something else? Just as we’d gotten to the bus area (do you have ANY idea how far of a trek that is?!) from Raglan, I felt something was missing…. Hmmm… what could it be?

That, Dear Readers will have to wait until the next edition of The ABC’s of a New ‘Ohana Adventure!

Steppe's answer to the last Your Turn Question: How do you spend your time in queues?

I do a variety of things but mostly people watch and look for little details that go unnoticed by most- hidden Mickeys, little gems tossed in by Imagineering as sight gags, authentic props, whatever. They are ubiquitous and I love to find and photograph them then come home and go down rabbit holes finding out more about them. I try to conserve my phone battery as best I can, using it only for quick snaps of photos or in the case of this trip texting with my kids or DISMeet Folks on where/when to meet up. I did use it to Mobile order, but usually waited to do that until I was closer to the restaurant. Is it weird that I also like to use the time in lines to listen to the BGM (background music) or audio loops?

I loved all of your answers!! Thank you to all of you who shared what you do to pass the time! There are absolutely NO wrong answers here as we are all unique and there are simply no wrong ways to vacation. Even if you sashay.

Now, it's YOUR turn:

Was I over-reacting to the TIW card thing? What would you have done (besides take it in the first place). Things to consider: 1) The card/prvilege did cost me $175 so naturally I wanted to use it as much as possible, 2) am I wrong it thinking it should be extremely easy for them to look up cardholders? 3) if he'd argued and wouldn't honor it, would you have been irritated?

And lastly, a very Happy Thanksgiving to each one of you celebrating on Thursday. Count your blessings and find a moment to be thankful for all you have. Enjoy your family and friends and may your digestion find adequacy.

Progress on the DIS!! What a difference a day off makes!

Now, I'm all caught up here AND gotten a chapter up for you to read. Tomorrow evening, after work, I'll start making progress on the threads I'm so far behind on. Excited to read everything you all have posted during my hiatus.

So happy to hear that baby Declan is on his way! Sending happy and healthy vibes for baby and mama. Back soon to comment on the latest installment! :)

I’d love to hear more about what that is! Good luck on your next transition.
PM me (or I'll PM you). Not something I want the world to see per se.

Ooooohhhhh, that’s what I saw loads of people playing. I had ZERO idea!
It's a ton of fun. Next time we get to meet up, maybe I can show you.

Well, color me intrigued!
I don't recall seeing that one in the crayon box...would burnt sienna be okay?
:lmao:

I’m sure he’d enjoy that. :)
I would as well. He's a good kid. I enjoyed meeting all (well almost) your kids (and your dad and mom[again]). Tell them all I said hi please.

Travel day can beat the crap out of you or actually be enjoyable. I think yours was more enjoyable than not.
Your “crappy” pictures are my better pictures:rotfl:The pictures are just fine my friend.
We have not been to Jock’s yet and plan to remedy this in January
RR is a good choice. Great seats to watch the dancers.
I think the manager could have handled it much differently geesh, rather full of himself. Doesn’t surprise me of late. The customer is always right adage is going out the window even at Disney!
Congratulations on grand baby!

Many times the DIS has not notified me of updates, but this time I'm to blame. I saw the update on one computer, but then had to stop the DIS for something else and then never came back to it. So, successive updates took me further down and I forgot to scroll back up to read (or respond). Mea Culpa.

Y is for: Y?? Y Not?!?
I thought you liked despicable me? You could have used "Y is for Yay or No Yay!"

As you all know, I took a weekend to meet some dear ones at DLR. No days off work, back by Sunday night. Er... well technically this morning. 2:30 AM to be exact.
Oof.

Honestly, I am pretty wiped out and wanting to get to bed earlier than later
Ya think, maybe?

spent most of my time wandering aimlessly and taking a zillion photos.
Considering the quality of your photos, this is okay.

HEY! Wait! I've been with you when you're taking photos. There is no way you could have gotten a zillion in the time you were there. I call BS.
;)

I’m an old fart now
Not at all.

am happy watching the bands, stopping for snacks, shopping (gasp! but I did have specific items), enjoying the holiday decorations
I've found since I live here in Orlando, I can go to the parks and do nothing but walk around and people watch and I'm okay with that. Not that the thrill is gone, I just don't feel the need to rush rush rush and try to jam in as much as possible anymore.

I took a nap at Disney
Pretty sure your last TR, you did as well (I think the pool area at Poly or GF?)

I wanted to take all the lamps and wallpaper and rugs home!
Pkondz already covered this, but I'm pretty sure they have laws against this. Also, you'd have to trudge them up 3 flights of stairs.

The bathroom wallpaper! OMG! Pinnochio-themed Arts and Crafts style wallpaper?!?!
Crafts style as in you can color on it? I'll go with burnt sienna again! ;)

Some goodies from the Lounge:

You ate leaves?

I was thinking you're not at the Portland airport, why are you taking pictures of the carpet? Then I saw the hidden mickey.

Where I spent my last hour before calling my Lyft:

Looks comfy and perfectly nap worthy.

Pretty picture and pretty lady.

I'd not gotten to ride Monster's Inc. in September (you read that update carefully and remember that, right?)
So, in DL, it's a ride, not a show?

There had BETTER be a joke inserted here...^
Don't worry, unlike the bear, the Yeti doesn't poop (or pee) in the woods, they're safe. Oh wait, that's not the woods, that's just yeller snow. Ruh roh.

I got sad when I saw this turtle with a broken shell. Made me wonder what happened to him or her. :(

Yeah, that is kinda sad. I think Disney is one of the few places where they might be able to survive with a cracked shell, though, so there is a slight positive.

After using a FiP for BTMRR, I headed to POTC where I took exactly zero photos. With a phone camera, they just don't work out so well.
I don't have much success with my good camera. I'm still not very good with settings I guess.

The phone was dying and I categorically REFUSE to buy a Fuel Rod.
I had one given to me, but I'm not quite sure where it's at now. I've checked the bags I typically take to WDW, but haven't found it.

NOT ONE SINGLE USB OR OUTLET IN THE ENTIRE PARK FOR CHARGING a phone.
Well, duh. If they can charge you an arm and a leg for a fuel rod, why would they want you to use their electricity for FREE???

I walked across Harbor towards Katella and bought a wall/charging adapter for $5.00 at a mini-mart. IF Disney HAD sold them in the parks (at all) I'd have probaby had to easy pay 3 times that.
an old fart.
You keep using those words...

I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

Without missing a beat, I retorted, "Well, I was thinking more along the lines of lessons from (you) on how to fly a sleigh!!" His laugh was jolly and deep and after our Christmas portrait, we wished each other a very Merry Christmas.
Nice!

Except this photo I'm rather proud of:

Wasn't a fan of "mardi gras Christmas", but then maybe I'm just a purist and feel the two should not be mixed.

Otherwise, the pictures were great as normal, but yeah, I can see why you're proud of that one...GREAT shot.

On a brighter note, my daughter is in labor and it shouldn't be too much longer til Baby Declan arrives. I'll post a few baby pix as I get them. :)
Congrats grandma (again)!!

ETA!!! If you are friends with me on FB, please don't post anything there. They are very private and don't want their own friends to know.
Don't worry, don't do FB.

So happy to hear that baby Declan is on his way! Sending happy and healthy vibes for baby and mama. Back soon to comment on the latest installment! :)

It's 630 AM and still no word at all. Either she went home and didn't bother to tell anyone, or she's had a long night of labor.

It's a ton of fun. Next time we get to meet up, maybe I can show you.

Sounds good. :) No trips on the horizon, but you never know.
I don't recall seeing that one in the crayon box...would burnt sienna be okay?
:lmao:

I'm more a Midnight Blue sort of gal.

I would as well. He's a good kid. I enjoyed meeting all (well almost) your kids (and your dad and mom[again]). Tell them all I said hi please.
Will do. :)
