Flex Pass Superthread: Disneyland Resort Introduces New Annual Passport that Combines Value and Flexibility

I recently bought a Flex Pass for my MIL and I must have understood the wording incorrectly. You cannot book 2 days for both parks and can only book either 1 day for both parks or 2 days with 1 park each day, right? Am I reserving her dates incorrectly?

No. You can reserve 2 DATES, and on those dates, you can choose 1 or both parks to reserve. When you go to book the first date, it asks which park or both. Choose that and then reserve it. Repeat for the second date. There are a few dates where only one park needs a reservation (the other is good to go), so it won’t give you the “both parks” option.

I just did a test booking to be sure the app was currently working (lots of glitches) and I was able to book 2 dates in December for both parks for each date. Then I canceled them since I don’t get to go in December this year, boohoo.

This is what is going to be interesting to me. I know OP here said that they were on right at 7am and couldn’t get both parks for a day of Veteran’s weekend, I think. But then the days eventually opened up.

Past experience with Disneyland’s IT infrastructure would lead me to believe that things aren’t always working at 7am, rather than assuming things were just blocked off or filled up that fast. I guess we will see more going forward.

Writing this from the main gate. Our flex passes were rejected at magic morning with valid reservations. Supervisor took our passes and is working on it. Stay tuned. Our magic morning is ticking away...

Update: wife’s card, which was an online renewal from DLX, wasn’t scanning correctly. CM added a new reservation on the back end and we got in. 10min delay, all good.

Glad to read this was resolved so quickly. Good for you!

New problem: the supervisor created a new reservation on the back end and scanned her in...but it left the old reservation sitting there. Now we’re unable to book Thursday for her.

No time to wait in ticketing right now, hopefully Thursday reservations remain open!

Maybe try calling while waiting in line?

Just as a clarification/semantic distinction, you are referring to Extra Magic Hour for hotel guests, not "Magic Morning", correct, since APs aren't eligible for Magic Morning?

correct, EMH for hotel guests.

MM just rolls off the tongue, gotta love my alliterations!

on another note, the storm rolling through 11/27 must have depressed projections so much it just turned into a green “good to go” day.

I have a full waterproof outfit that I’m looking forward to testing in the parks!

They are messing around with the schedule. Tomorrow is now a good to go day; previously it was a reservation day.

That’s crazy!! We were going to roll out of here early tomorrow morning. We’re from San Diego so we melt in the rain, but we may brave it for a couple hours tomorrow morning if it’s really going to be that dead!!

We brought an umbrella for waiting at the train station, maybe we will go grab some ponchos from CVS...

I am thrilled to see tomorrow got converted from reservations required for both parks to good to go for both parks. I thought it was a glitch, but I think it is real? If you already had a reservation for that day, and now it doesn't need one, I wonder if you can book your second day's reservations now (ie does it cancel your reservations for tomorrow since they are no longer needed and you can now reserve again)? Anyone in that situation?

I had a reservation for 11/27 and it was still booked after it was converted to green. I cancelled it and then booked another day this morning.

it was wide open for booking after previously being booked, this was likely due to mass cancellations.

the forecast for rain was last week and it became more intense up through today (>0.8 inches, downpours). The current Forecast mellowed it down to 0.5 inches and removal of the “downpour” description, but worsened for Thanksgiving Day.

I wouldn’t be surprised if 11/28 was converted to green sometime tomorrow as it is wide open to book right now.

I’m set for tomorrow: water resistant Allbirds, quick dry socks, waterproof rain pants with cinched ends, quick dry t-shirt, North Face shell.

Time to play “spot the visitor in the $10 poncho who forgot to check the weather” 😂

Update for anyone following...ticketing was unable to wipe off that 11/26 reservation that failed at the gates this morning. It will just fall off and likely count as a no-show. Will not pursue further, and will let you know what kind of nastygram (if any) gets sent for the no show.

further update: wife had her 11/28 reservation wiped from her pass after getting a new card issued by ticketing (she spent $20 to get the new design, lol) had to rebook

I just saw they are closing the park early today and tomorrow due to the storm. For those of you braving the elements and going you might have a pretty empty park. Be safe everyone.

It’s looking good out here, and only an hour on the back end (11pm instead of midnight).

I need some reassurance that I haven't made a strategic mistake. I promised my son a mother-son trip with our Flex Passes for the weekend of January 11-12. We're also planning another visit for our family of four February 8-10. It just occurred to me last night that while I will be able to make reservations for my husband and daughter for February 8 as of January 9th and for February 9th as of January 10th, I won't be able to make reservations for my son and myself until January 11th/12th (once we use our reservations for those days).

I know there have been very limited "Reservation Unavailable" dates so far, but the Rise of the Resistance opening has me a little concerned that this otherwise low-demand weekend will be unexpectedly popular. There are three weekends before February 8/9 for pent-up ROTR demand and President's Day the following weekend (which I assume will be more popular). The odds are really low that we won't be able to get reservations for February 8/9 weekend, right? Since February 10th is a "good to go" day for both parks, I'd be happy enough if we can get at least one of the days as "both parks" and the other just for DCA.

How can you tell if a day is “wide open for booking” as you referenced above? When I go to make a reservation, all I can see is which park is available to book which day, with no indication of how many reservations are still available to be booked for a certain park on a certain day?
