Congrats on not being sold separately! ~ a 20th anniversary trip report. New TR link 12/21

We started off the morning with a breakfast of epic deliciousness at Creature Comforts. Yes, I'm looking at you oh giant Mickey head shaped cinnamon roll.
How does it compare with Kusafiri? (If you've had that one.)
We were off to the safari next and it was the perfect time of day for it. There was actually a lovely breeze and the animals were out and active.
Nice. :)
Did you know that the flamingo habitat is actually a Hidden Mickey?
::yes::

Pretty shot!
.my beloved Nomad Lounge! Happily, Bill loved it as much as I do.
Good! Glad he loved it as much as you.
Great food, drinks, atmosphere, service and company made this a delightful afternoon.
Sounds just wonderful. :)

Nomad Lounge is one of our faves! So is the huge Mickey head cinnamon roll lol.
I remeber one of your crew getting it (maybe Chris?) and have wanted to try it ever since!
Don't you love changing up plans last minute and having it work out swimmingly? Some of our best Disney days are when we have loose plans or scrap our original plans :goodvibes
Totally!! It's become my favourite thing to do... I love having plans but I love changing everything on a whim too!
It's nice to be able to wing it and change plans to fit your mood and pace. Sounds like a perfect switch-a-roo for the day! :thumbsup2 And I LOVE your dress!!! :goodvibes
Thanks so much! I was channeling a certain AK icon that day......any idea who??
How does it compare with Kusafiri? (If you've had that one.)
I haven't but now I need too...you know, for research.......
Pretty shot!
Thank you!
Sounds just wonderful. :)
It was perfect...... :goodvibes

What a perfect day!
Nomads lounge and that cinnamon roll look equally awesome and I’ve never been to either so definitely going to rectify that next time I’m at Ak :)

You will love both! Nomads is so relaxing, especially out on the deck. Make sure you have at least one other person to share that cinnamon roll with....it is huge!

If you have not had the chance to do "Keys to the Kingdom" yet, I highly, highly recommend it.

Someday, I'd sure love to!

Upon arriving at the Grand Floridian we walked through the lobby and stopped to listen to the orchestra for a minute. Would you believe they were playing the song for our first dance at our wedding ~ Love You Madly by Ella Fitzgerald

WHA....?! That's almost creepy!

We started off the morning with a breakfast of epic deliciousness at Creature Comforts. Yes, I'm looking at you oh giant Mickey head shaped cinnamon roll. This was fantastic; light, flaky, warm and gooey...simply everything a perfect cinnamon roll should be.

I had no idea they had them there too. I thought only Kusafiri's had them.

After an enjoyable ride on Navi River we headed to my very reason for wanting to come to Animal Kingdom that day....my beloved Nomad Lounge! Happily, Bill loved it as much as I do.
YAY!! Cuz it IS the best place on property. Although Geyser Point creeped up on the list...

Whooping it up at the Hoop Dee Doo!

After a little rest back in the room, we were heading back down to the boat dock to head over to Fort Wilderness for our first time at the Hoop! Let me say, we loved every minute! We had category 1 seats and were seated about two rows back from the stage. Our server was excellent and was quick to bring over the drinks. Bill went for a beer and I had the white sangria.

We started off with the salad and cornbread which was fantastic. The salad was fresh and crisp while the cornbread was warm, buttery goodness.

Our main was fabulous as well......we really enjoyed the chicken and potatoes but the standout for me were the beans. They had a great smoky taste with bits of pork mixed in.

IMG_0987.jpeg

We had a great view of the stage and enjoyed all the zany antics.....IMG_4857.JPG

Bill even got pulled into the show and it was hilarious! We re laughing so hard we had tears streaming down our faces. It was the best!
IMG_4854.JPG

I had fun playing the washboard and singing along......
IMG_4855.JPG

And of course we enjoyed our delicious dessert....

Hoop dee doo was a huge hit for us and we would happily go back again, After the show we headed to Disney Springs for a cocktail and a stroll around. Unfortunately, just as we were getting settled in, a huge thunderstorm rolled in so we made a mad dash for an Uber and ended up back at the Lodge for drinks. We enjoyed some wine and a G&T at Territory before heading up to pack and organize our things before check out in the morning. It was another awesome Disney night!

I know...it was surreal. I stopped dead in my tracks when I heard it. It was a really special moment.

Almost as creepy as when that guy knew I'd been a CM and where!

Geyser Point is almost tied with Nomad Lounge for my top pick. :)

Perfect picks!

Bill even got pulled into the show and it was hilarious! We re laughing so hard we had tears streaming down our faces. It was the best!

I have never done Hoop Dee Doo but it does look good. The food is definitely something I would enjoy.

I also have never done a tour at MK. Keys sounds great but I wonder what’s the best for a “first tour”?

Sounds like a lovely time at AK! And a great night at HDDR!
Thanks Alexis! We had so much fun and tried to cram as much as possible into our last full day. :) Have you gone to HDDR yet?

I think you and your family would love the Hoop, Jeff. As to tours, I would recommend "Marceline to Magic" first. We did that one in 2016 and really enjoyed it as well. It is 3 hours and focuses on how Walt's boyhood in Marceline shaped his ideas for the Magic Kingdom.
