I just don't know, am I crazy to doubt being there at 5am? Is it early enough? That's three hours of standing around, and yes it will be cold out there waiting in the dark.
Yes, it's a long wait but if I were going on Dec 5th I would be there! The time goes by fast. You are there with a ton of people who are just as excited to be there as you are. It is fun standing around and talking to others in the crowd. We met some of the nicest people! Before we knew it the line was moving and the anticipation just built from there. CMs lined the walkways after we entered through the tunnel, high-fiving people as they excitedly entered the land. I don't think you can put a price on that kind of experience!

I'm really excited to be there, and it will be the highlight of our trip. I just couldn't decide how early to show up!

My son and I will be there for opening day! Excited but also worried about standing for that long. I have circulation and ambulatory issues. Standing still for hours will be an absolute health issue for me. We are planning to get there as early as necessary to experience RotR, but I will definitely need to borrow a wheelchair at the park. Does anyone know if they will be available that early in the morning? Otherwise I will have to bring my own collapsible chair which I know the CMs probably won't allow. Not sure what to do🙁 Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

They have complimentary wheelchairs in the parking lot, for people that need them to get from parking lot to the front of the park to rent one inside. Now I'm not sure how early they'll have them out there

Yeah that's what has me concerned. I guess if I bring a very small collapsible chair and a CM spots me, I could respectfully ask them to go grab me a wheelchair?

So it looks like DHS will be ready to open the entire opening weekend, until Sunday, at 8am, based on CM schedules, Sunday obviously being EMH
Also all the CM for MFSR at least (the only info I can access) are able to pick up any shifts for the next couple of weeks, all hands on deck, sort of speak

Are the schedules out for the following week and do we know if that is 8am or not?

the CM is out until Sat Dec 14th
Starting Monday it seems they are going to be ready to open by 9am, so I don't think that MFSR will be able to open anytime earlier than 8:30am. This is not to say they won't open the land to queue up sooner.
First shift goes in at 6:30am for MFSR, and the ride takes about 2 hours to "turn on" and go through all the checks

I would think the people that want to be first to ride and some of the bloggers and stuff will be there really early, camping out early - this is supposed to be the greatest attraction ever and the first of the two to open. So if you want to be "first" I would plan to be earlier

But I would think 5:00 would be ok just if you want to ensure you get on, etc. But definitely monitor twitter accounts that I am sure will be documenting it and if you see a huge crowd already there the evening before maybe make adjustments to alter the plan - and pray you don't need to alter it further

This is exactly what I am doing. I will bet there around 5:30 if by then we are talking about insane crowds with 5 or 6 hour wait times I will just go in and do the rest of GE and DHS. It is what it is.

Sounds like a plan. Only thing to keep in mind is this ride is supposed to have very high capacity so if it is operating at full capacity the line should meet be pretty well. So even if it look ginormous it might not be, time wise, as long as you might think

On the flip side, be mindful that it could also break down at any point. Good luck!

There is chatter on Twitter from this one person ( i am sure we all know who they are. They have been BOTH right and Wrong in the past about SWGE) but, they are saying the ride is not 100%. The ride is stopping every hour and testers are having to evacuate the ride.

I dont know if we can get confirmation of this maybe from @yulilin3 @rteetz

It’s certainly going to have some hiccups. I can’t confirm or deny the specifics of what this person has said but don’t be surprised if there is down time.

We will be there at 5 am. I will also watch this message board for updates. Does anybody know which twitter account to watch or post to that morning?

Blog Mickey will probably be Tweeting. There should be many other #DISTwitter accounts too.

Search for #RiseoftheResistance and #swge

I already had a trip scheduled for MVMCP and decided to attempt opening day as a fun addition to the trip. If I am in the value resorts, will I be able to uber to HS? And if so, where would they drop me off if the parking lot doesn't open early? Or has anyone heard what time the resort transportation will start up that morning? I don't want to get up crazy early, but I am considering joining the 3am crowd in hopes of riding it early and getting to do some other things that day as well. It was supposed to be my MK day but I'm shortening that and doing this for the morning instead.

Yes you can Uber to DHS. The lots never really technically close so you should be okay. If they don’t let you in for some reason you could get dropped off at Boardwalk and walk over to DHS.
