2019 Holiday Time at DLR Superthread: 11/08/19 - 1/06/20!

Thanks for the information. We have the Plaza Inn parade package and we were told we were getting the 6:15 parade. I am actually a bit relieved that the time is earlier now, so that we can avoid the CP mayhem if we want. :)

The stage for CP is already up ... so no good photo shots of Main Street Station anymore.

By the way is it a new thing or didn’t I noticed earlier...that you need your physical paper park ticket (or DL resort hotel keycard) to enter the parks for magic morning? The CM said the app doesn’t make note of it so you can’t get in if you don’t have your paper ticket with you...

We have the same so we could get the second parade, not realizing it will be MUCH earlier. I wouldn't even care if we'd have to stay put for the CP after the parade but not for that much time :scared:
I might just drop the res all together and watch from.somewhere else.
Are there any reviews of the Plaza Inn parade package yet?
Good point 🤔

Magical Kinda Mama (social media blogger) did a review, and I have seen a few more reviews. It is hit or miss depending on the person. I booked it so that my mom could sit on the planter box seat.

Whaaatt? This deserves it's own thread. I purchased tickets yesterday and noticed in the app that they didn't say anything about MM. I know my tickets in the past said "with one Magic Morning entry."

Has anyone been able to get a holiday bell sipper in the last couple of days? I'm thinking about going specifically to get a sipper!

When you get your paper tickets those will say you are entitled for a magic morning.
At least that’s how it’s supposed to work...and did for me... I had my eTickets scanned into my app and used the phone to scan in at the turnstiles on my first day and got my paper ticket, which said entitled to one magic morning.
You just have to make sure you bring those paper tickets along when you use your magic morning...(and have them out and ready unlike pretty much everyone else... took me 20 min today to get my tickets scanned)

My print out definitely says I have MM. But I do remember seeing it in the app on previous trips. Let's hope this is a temporary glitch, sounds like your experience this morning was no bueno.

if anyone is interested in Mickey balloon popcorn buckets they are available at the popcorn cart in front of jolly holiday (they are that Arendelle Aqua color)
Haven’t yet seen the jingle bell sipper but I am on the lookout...

Then you should be fine.
I was wondering about it being a temporary thing as well. Because I don’t recall it being that way last year... But who knows...

I did manage to ride dumbo, Snow White and Pinocchio during MM...

Post #464 on the previous page of this superthread gives a detailed, recent review of the package.

We did the Plaza Inn parade dining package tonight... I remember someone earlier in this thread asked about substituting the fried turkey for the fried chicken. You can do this.

That was pretty much the only positive thing I have to say about the package. The fried chicken was delicious, but I wasn’t a fan of the stuffing or Mac n’ cheese sides. My daughter and I both hated the dessert. Had I known, I would have asked to sub out the dessert for something else. It’s some sort of cinnamon nut Bundt cake, not very “kid friendly.” My daughter liked the chicken tenders but hated the green beans. I wish there was a different option of veggies for kids. I wish I had asked about that, as well. We are very little of the food, it was very wasteful.

The viewing area was directly in front of and facing Main Street Station. There is not seating besides the ground and the two round benches. When we sat down on the curb, I noticed there were two open benches across the street. I really wished I’d walked over and sat there. When the parade started, the spotlights turned on and we were blinded by them. We couldn’t see the floats until they were directly in front of us. I am very sensitive to light and ended up having to look down to avoid the lights for the majority of the parade. It was pretty disappointing.

Next time, we will just grab spots on the opposite side of the street or up at the train station and eat what we want from Plaza Inn.

Hi. Can anyone confirm whether there is Santa letter writing in the lobby of the resort hotels this year? Thanks in advance.

Heading down NEXT WEEK. Super excited.

Can someone tell me about meeting Santa at the resort hotels? We're thinking either Disneyland Hotel or Grand California. Do they take photos? Long lines? Good visits?

Thank you!

Has Disney published the recipe for their soft gingerbread Mickey cookies? I’ve seen their classic recipe but those cookies they sell on a cardboard piece at Jolly Holiday are soooooooo much better IMO.

We saw Santa at DLH with no lone in the evening. His set up was like a 1950s living room. I actually chatted with him for a while and left before anyone else came up for photos. I don’t remember if they had photopass working or if it was just a cast member using your camera.

Was at GCH and Santa came in every day we were there in the pm/evening time from 12/1-12/3, checked out today on the 4th. The lines weren't too long.. about ten groups deep. Back drop was in the great hall and chair faced towards the main elevators/acorn gift shop with the fireplace on the opposite side if you're facing Santa.

Candy Canes bracelets were out by 830am ...

Rain this morning cleared the park and wait times were great. Unfortunately our feet and pants were wet and legs were cold but overall was awesome to hit the rides with 5-15 min wait times in dca.

was still able to get the haunted mansion popcorn/sipper/beignet buckets, saw oogie boogie bucket too by cafe Orleans

Christmas tree buckets were abundant, jingle bell sipper ornament apparently is sold out and gone per three different cast members.

SWGE not decorated for xmas. Wait times fluctuated between 30-60 minutes. Was busy early morning and middle of day but later in evening it went down for us.

I would LOVE to have this as well!!! The cookie was so delicious!

Yes, it was pretty wet yesterday. But the rain scared away the crowds so that was very nice. I was well equipped with water resistant pants and shoes, light rain jacket, a quick drying running cap and a poncho on top of it.
I stayed all day and really enjoyed it. I scored front row viewing of the parade at the hub (arrived a couple minutes before official starting time) and got a second row spot at the rope in front of the castle for fireworks! (I was beyond happy to be able to watch them one more time from inside the park!)
