Booking with Two Different Contracts

I am close to my 7-month window to book Aulani for our next trip. I am hoping for a pool-view studio for 4 nights, which will cost 92 points. What I am wanting to use is 54 HHI points (45 of which are banked 2019 points) and 38 AKV points. The issue I think I may have is that after using these points both contracts will still have points leftover. I don't think I remember ever seeing an option when booking online to use a certain number of points from one contract before using another. Will I have to book by calling? If so, that really diminishes my chances.

When reserving online, and assuming both contracts have the same use year month, you list the contracts in the order that you want them to be used, but if either has banked points, all the banked points will be used first, after which it will use points left in the first listed contract before going to the second. So it is possible to end up with points left over in each contract if you list the HH contract second. All the HH points will be used before any AKV points if the HH contract is the first listed contract for use.

Even if you end up with using more points (or less) points from one of the contracts than you want to use, you can still do the reservation on line and then call MS and have it reallocate points.

Can you clarify the bolded part? I'm not quite following you.

You do not actually say how many total points are in each contract but I an assuming there are more 2020 points in both than you have provided (the numbers you provide equal the 92 points you need and thus, if that is all you have, there would be no issue of leftover points).

Assume you list the AKV contract to be used first, and the HH contract second. In that situation, the system will tak the HH 45 banked points first, because it is supposed to use all banked points first regardless of order of contracts. If the AKV contract has more than 47 points, then it will take 47 AKV points to complete the 92 point reservation for Aulani. If the AKV contract has less than 47 points, the system will take all the AKV points and then some from the 2020 HH points to complete the reservation .

Assume you list the HH contract to be use first. The system will first use the HH banked points and then use 47 2020 HH points, if it has more than 47 2020 points, to complete the reservation. If it does not, it will use up the remaining HH points and then take some from the AKV contract to complete the reservation.

Since you have banked HH points, you will choose that contract first. But, unless you have banked AKV points as well, it will pull all HH points first and then take enough AKV points to finish up.

If you want to leave some HH points, then I think you have to give MS a call as that can’t be done online.

But you can still book, as mentioned, online and then call to aay you’d like points reallocated to take more AKV and less HH

Ok, here is what I have...
70 AKV
145 HHI (The 45 is 2019 banked points.)
All 2020 points.
I want to use 38 of the 70 AKV points and 54 HHI points, for a total of 92 points.
So, what I'm hearing from you, drusba, is that I should put the AKV contract first and the HHI contract second. It will use the 45 banked HHI points first, then 47 AKV points. I will then need to call and have them reallocate the points, putting 9 AKV points back and using 9 HHI points. Is this correct?

That should work. But so would others, e.g., you could use just the HH contract to do the reservation on line and then call and replace 38 of the HH points with AKV points.
