Is BOG worth it for 7 Dwarves Mining Train?

Currently have an 8:15 reservation for DD and I all with the hope of getting on the train one time in addition to FP. This is our favorite ride but geeze is BOG expensive for what you get for breakfast. DD isn't a big breakfast person either...she is only 7. So we will eat but it is basically to get on the ride. Will we have just as much luck if we run to 7 dwarves at rope drop? I know time is money and we only have one day at MK so want to make the most of it. If we went to breakfast we would get more time for rides without big lines early in the morning.

When we went last time we did an early Pre Park Opening breaky there and just ate off the kids menu. Honestly because you order counter service style you could order anything you want. Even just a drink etc. Some please correct me if this has changed but last year it worked well.

I wish I could remember exactly what we had, I know I ordered off the kids menu and got the scrambled eggs... but not sure what hubby had and I can't find any photos from that meal... I do remember I pre ordered our meals, and then when we got there just had to check it on the screen and pay, they gave us a rose to take to our table and then went and got our drink sat down and they brought out the pastry and our meals a few mins later.

We just did this last week. And have done this several times in the past.
Remember, riding 7DMT is not guaranteed. One time, the ride was down so, we headed to PPan.

This past time, we had 3 adult ladies & 1 11 yr old. The 3 adults ordered from the kids menu & the 11 yr old only wanted the cupcake. We were not doing it to save money but, knew with the pastries, we didn't need anymore than that.

This time, we rode once & could have done it a 2nd time but, decided to head to Space with the RD crowd. Another time, we did ride 2x before the crowd hit. Another time, it was EMM so, we were allowed to line up before the crowd but, not ride until the park opened (which I knew going that morning).

Question of if it's worth it or not will be different across the board. I love eating in the beast's castle & getting on the ride is an extra perk. But, I do go in it knowing the ride might not happen.
Make sure to order ahead....that saves so much time!!

Yes. Absolutely. Just did this last week on Thanksgiving Day. Our breakfast for four was two kid’s meals and two cupcakes. It was $41.00. I would honestly pay the $40.00 for not showing for the reservation and just get in line for 7DMT as well if spending time eating didn’t work out! 40 bucks for my family of four is worth not having to come in with the rope drop crowd. But I figured we could actually eat for about the same price so it worked out well. We got our 1 ride in just before the rope drop crowd so it was perfect. If you can’t get a fp for 7DMT, this is a great plan. We decided two weeks prior that we were going on a last minute trip so we couldn’t get a fp. If I had a fp for it already, I wouldn’t do it. But if not, it works great.

It depends...it worked great over spring break for our family if 3. We had one kids meal and one adult meal between us. We pre-ordered and it saves so much time...had our food within 15 minutes of checking in. However, watch to make sure opening hours don’t change. If MK changes to a 8 am opening on your day, you are out of luck. And we have been there times when 7D is down first thing so there is always that risk...

If it's worth it depends on you.
If 7d is one of your faves, then as a whole it might be.
There is no question that the food is NOT worth the price, even for the Wallyworld premium. They KNOW what they are selling.

I'd order enough for appetite suppressants, and coffee.
Last time we did it, two adults would split a meal, and each have a coffee. We did 7d and then Space with no wait.
That was worth it for us.
It also allowed to go a little longer (after another snack in the am) to avoid the "standard lunch time crowds."
I always try to zag whenever most of the sheeple are zigging. WDW costs way too much to follow the herds when you don't even have to.

How soon can I preorder?

You do not need to order a full breakfast. It is counter service. Order as much or as little as you want.
Watch park hours. If they change you will not have an advantage

SDMT at RD is not worth it for us. Every time we do this, whether it’s after a PPO BOG ADR or just walking there quickly at RD, we are behind crowds at every other ride for the rest of the day. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’d much rather start off in Adventureland or Tomorrowland at the less popular rides and be ahead of those crowds and have a pleasant morning instead. We grab multiple FP for SDMT throughout our trip and if we want to ride it more we do so during fireworks.

We prefer to do BOG this way. You can start at BOG and then go straight to Adventureland and be on par with the rope drop crowds. As long as they don't change your hours or do EMM that morning you are golden. :) I say DEFINITELY worth it. I also would much rather be eating breakfast that be standing at rope drop an hour early and standing for an hour.

Just found this thread when i searched. I just got a breakfast reservation at BOG for next Thursday, and I am confused. It's quick service but we still need an ADR? Our reservation is for 8 AM. There is no EMH that day, and the park opens at 9. So ... I assume they will let us in a few minutes before 8, and we'll be able to line up for 7DMT before the park opens? And the ride opens at 9? Also, is it possible to literally just get a cup of coffee and call it a day as far as the breakfast? I know this is a lot of questions and I really have read through the thread, just still feeling confused. Thanks in advance!! :)

We did this and then 7DMT was down for most of the day. It definitely wasn't worth it for us! The same thing had happened to us with the Frozen ride, so we have given up on this plan. We do breakfast where we want and if it gets us on rides early, that's just a bonus.

My kids actually love BOG at Breakfast one time we did a EMH rope drop ran to 7D and then did a walk up to BOG. But it really does depend on when the park opens. My daughter gets open faced bacon and egg on a croissant she loves it my boys get scramble eggs but you really can just get some entrees and share they put pastries on the table to share you can order cupcakes and beverages breakfast can be really simple since it's quick service.
