We are going to the party tomorrow night from Poetofino Bay, we plan to take an Uber or Lyft over. What is the status on being dropped off at the Contemporary without having an ADR or anything
To them walk over? Will they let us in no problem? I remember at Some point in the past they were giving people a hard time about that and even turning them away,

[Edit]Just found out 12/6 was sold out. But otherwise the following stands regarding my experiences overall.

Went to the 12/6 party and I definitely saw marked difference in crowds than 12/3, the latter of which was sold out. Still crowded, but a lot of people seem to stake out the hub for the shows. Seems a lot more manageable on a non-sold out party. I had the Tony's extra, but really didn't feel necessary today as I saw plenty of space around the vip area. I don't feel like I could say the same for the 12/3 party as my dad and I caught the tail end of that after meeting Moana. And that area was jammed.

We took it really easy tonight (even more than the sold out night) so it wasn't efficient but it was still fun.

Christmas Party items we did:

Castle Lighting (6:15).
Met Snow, Aurora, & their Princes
Grabbed a gingerbread sundae
Hit Space Mountain (loved the new overlay)
Watched Edge Effect
Collected our SotMK card
Went to Tony's
Watched parade

I think the Tony's party is worth it if you drink and don't mind a more easy going touring of the park during the party. That said I am really glad I experience two different MVMCP's

I can definitely see why people complain but on the other hand, I can see myself navigating a sold out party relatively easily now. Glad I did the extra extras (dessert party first night & Tony's second). I probably won't get these again but I felt they were good as a one time thing on top of MVMCP if you can afford it. Takes a lot of pressure off the decision of what to do if the party is sold out/ want to get spots to view the parade/fireworks on Main Street.

These were my first two MVMCP and I am very satisfied with both experiences. Whenever I get back for the holiday season, I will definitely have this on my docket (or at least in consideration).

FYI, not to throw a wrinkle in your analysis but both 12/3 and 12/6 parties sold out. 12/6 sold out yesterday afternoon.

Although a good reminder of how experiences can vary on any given party day, who knows why.

Thanks for checking in with your party report!

My fault for only checking the front page (which isn't updated with 12/6) and not any other part of the thread.

How did you like Tony’s? I’m doing the same as you where we’re attending 2 MVMCPs (20 and 22) and have the dessert party reserved for the first and Tony’s for the second. I’m really happy to hear how easy it is to navigate a sold out party but now I feel maybe I can do without Tony’s. Lol! The 22nd which sold out much earlier on kind of scares me though.

I thought the food was meh (which as we know is expected from Tony's) but I did have a few drinks to get the value from the cost. I think it's worthwhile if you aren't trying to do a lot during the party & really want the Main Street view of the parade. Otherwise you can really plan around seeing the first parade from its starting point if you're in that area.

I will add Tony is a riot so that added a little value for me as well.

Has anyone here done Tony's and hung around waiting for crowds to subside between 12-12:30? I just booked Tony's for the 20th, primarily so I can watch the parade in peace, but wondering if the extra half hour could be a perk too.

I returned for one last drink and left around 12:15. And the lines didn't seem very long

We did on Sunday, Dec 1 which was a sold out party. We stayed until the very last minute and took the monorail to the Contemporary. We walked right on then took Uber to Universal Loews Royal Pacific. Easy!

thanks for the review! I did see it earlier and was glad to see someone really enjoy it! The only thing is that I’m paying 2 people who don’t drink which is what made me think about it again. Lol!

Was there surge pricing for Uber at that time. We plan to do the exact same thing and uber back to RPR.

Question about Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor during MVMCP. Can anyone tell me if it is operating like it did during MNSSHP, where it was running continuously and you could walk in and catch the show at any point during the party? AT MNSSHP, guests could walk in and sit for as long. or as little, as they wanted to. Is that how it is at MVMCP, or is it running like it usually does on a normal day, except with a Christmas themed show?

It was running like a normal show, just with a Christmas theme. We just missed one cut off so had to wait through 2 shows- one out in the line and the second in the preshow area- yet was running at around half full for some reason. It was cute, my kids 6 and 9 loved it. I thought it was very similar to the regular
Show, just christmassed up. So if you like it normally you still will, if you don’t you probably will not.

I wonder why they changed it. I thought it worked pretty well how they did it at MNSSHP

I didn’t do it at the Halloween party, but I think I would have preferred it that way. Then we wouldn’t have had to wait (probably). Although my kids wouldn’t have wanted to leave lol! They love that show for some reason. I mean, I think it’s cute and all, but they love it 😊
