Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I am considering a stay in a pirate room since it is the only one available for our dates
Are they as bad as some people say? How is the bus transportation from these buildings? And how far away are they from the skyliner stop?
I am currently booked in a Boardwalk Villas studio but the 400$ I would save could be used towards something extra...
Any thoughts and recent input would be greatly appreciated!
We stayed in a preferred room last New Year's, and walked around the resort quite a bit, and my husband went running every morning. I have to say, if you were in one of the furthest pirate rooms I think they would be further than I would like to be during a stay. We are a family that doesn’t mind walking, for example we regularly walk from DHS to Epcot or through Epcot to get to the monorail to the MK, and love POR. However, those rooms would be a hoof for going to the main building for anything. If you got one of the first pirates rooms after the bridge it wouldn’t be so bad, but it’s luck of the draw.

i can’t remember details, but my DH measured the distance from the furthest pirate area where he turned around on his run to Old Port Royals, and it surprised me! I want to say it was around a mile, so at a slow pace with kids, strollers, etc that is a decent distance to go for a question, snack, etc. Sure you could go to the small restaurant that is in that section for food and refills, and that is great that it’s there, but personally I like going to OPR to shop/look around/etc and would not choose a pirate room unless there were extenuating reasons. It’s not like I think they are terrible, I just wouldn’t choose them if given the choice.

also, FWIW, the theme of the rooms just doesn’t appeal to me even as a mom of boys, so that’s another reason I wouldn’t choose them.

I have never stayed at CBR (but have reservations there for Summer 2020). Question - WHY is the bus system different at Jamaica and Aruba vs the other areas? Isn't it the same bus system for the entire complex? Thanks!
During the mornings there is a greater demand on bus service and since CBR has so many stops they divided it according to the 2 sides. Otherwise yes, bus service is the same resort wise. I’m not sure bus pick up has anything to do with preferred rooms. When I stayed there pre re-construction we were in Jamaica and frequently were first stop because it was close to the service entrance the busses use.

I didn’t realize you were being sarcastic in the first reply
I was really looking into CBR but since they had no regular rooms available (just pirates) I was wondering if it was still worth it...
I have never stayed Deluxe in WDW and honestly find it difficult to justify the cost, but if Pirates room are good I would seriously consider moving my reservation
I will be looking forward to your comments on the Pirates rooms @ksromack !
Just so you know, the pirate rooms are double beds, not queens. For what it’s worth, I’ve stayed at BC & YC and love the Epcot resort area. I prefer those 2 resorts because everything is under one roof. At The Boardwalk like CBR you have to go outside to access restaurants.
But I think the Skyliner will be a game changer with easy access to that area and all the dining options.

No. Calling and adding any requests to your reservation is still the best for individuals.

Not really. They just don't want to deal with faxes any longer. They have moved room assigning duties for all resorts to a central group located in Disney Springs. So they wanted an email address that can be accessed from there instead of having faxes going to each individual resort.

I’ve always done the request through touring plans fax. Does anyone have the email address/phone number we’re supposed to use instead? Thanks!

If you want to use Touring Plans they will email for you. It's a secret email address only given to Touring Plans. If you want to call yourself, just call the Main Reservation line at 407-W-DISNEY.

We’re staying at Caribbean Beach for the first time in January for my birthday. Two adults..I booked a pirate water view room. How close are those rooms to Skyliner and Main Lobby? I would like to be as close as possible to Skyliner

Using the Google Maps "measure distance" tool, and rounding--The most distant Pirate room is about 600 yards to the Skyliner, and about 800 yard to the main dining/shops/pool. The closest Pirate room is about 350 yards closer to each--so 250 and 450.

So excited will be back at CBR in 5 days!!! I’m arranging an amazon order to the resort & trying to figure out the most current mailing address. Is it 900 Cayman Way or 1114 Cayman Way I’m seeing both?! Thanks for your help!
I never saw a response to this and I am wondering the same thing. I have 900 Cayman Way listed but before I put in my order I wanted to make sure! Can anyone confirm the address for having Istacart or Prime Pantry delivery? I will have ONE item that needs refrigeration.

Getting plans made to travel in March. Booked a King room and was thinking of requesting Jamacia 42. Now that I have been looking at the map, I am tempted to request Martinique or Aruba due to the proximity to the Riviera. After looking at the menus at the Riviera, I am thinking that it might be easier to grab breakfast or lunch at the QS there if we were to end up in Aruba or Martinique. Thoughts?

If you want to be close to Riviera then Aruba 55 or 56 and Martinique 24 or 25 would be great locations.

I’m staying at Pop this week, and want to eat at Sebastian’s. If I ride the skyliner over, is the restaurant walking distance? Or do I take an internal bus?

It is not a bad walk and you can enjoy the gorgeous grounds of CBR as you walk.

The internal bus would be more time consuming.

Skyliner-very close.

Main Lobby-Pack a Lunch. :)

Thanks for your help! I have watched several YouTube videos of the resort, and it’s HUGE! Biggest on property

Just booked a room at CBR with a bounceback offer for next December. Took the skyliner a few times from Epcot to Hollywood studios and LOVED it, so naturally wanted to try out this resort for our first time. The only room they had available was a pirate room, which I am not so thrilled about because of the double beds. Think it's worth it to switch to the following week and pay an extra $200 for a preferred room? Will the pirate rooms be a closer walk to the skyliner as compared to the preferred rooms? If so, I might be willing to suck it up!
