Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Flying out tomorrow for a week at the CR Atrium Club. My last CL stay last year was at AKL. Can’t wait to see how they compare.

We have our first CR Atrium CL stay coming up in 2 weeks. I would love to hear your thoughts about the CL as well as the resort overall when you return. Have a great trip :wizard:.

We are flying out of PHL tomorrow and will be arriving for my son's very first disney world trip ever (and our first time at Poly CL) - I'm planning on ordering the Twilight Feast on one night and I'll report back. More than likely we will try and get it delivered to the lounge but either way I'll take pics of the spread. CANNOT WAIT!

How exciting! Your trip will be filled with great memories! Hope you have a great time and enjoy Poly CL :goodvibes.

We did a CL for the first time last summer for 3 nights at the YC. We happened to find a super great rate it. While we enjoyed for breakfast (and soda, water and juice) throughout the day there were times we felt it spoiled our dinner appetite and we ended up changing a few dinner ressie bc of that.
This year we were thinking of trying out GF (never stayed there) and was slightly intrigued by the Sugar Loaf CL. Any opinions or reviews?
Also, any news on when the bridge/walkway to MK from the GF will open?
TIA

If you’re thinking GF SL vs YC CL then IMO there is no comparison.....

Go back to YC.

RPC can be cool........

I’m big on YC and to be honest all of the Crescent Lake Resorts!!!

We have spent MANY nights in this area!

If we go back to a MK area resort it is Poly first then GF RPC, depending on best rate of course.

So you didn’t like Sugar Loaf? I’ve only done regular tower CR and YC (both non-CL and one CL) and did Swan once a REALLY long time ago (probably over 15 years ago).

No it’s not that we didn’t like it, (we have only stayed 2 times at SL FYI) just comparing that experience to what you get at YC is not really comparable IMO.

We arrived yesterday for a 9 night stay CR Atrium TPV. Our flight was very early and we arrived at the resort about 11:00 (ME line was crazy busy). The line to check in was really long too, but we were near the front ( we waited about 15 minutes). We were checked in downstairs and then taken upstairs. Our room ready text came about an hour later...room 4835. It is right next to the “kitchen area” but we have not heard any noise at all. The view is wonderful! If only my view was of the castle everyday when I woke up....

I agree! I'm glad I tried SL, but I didn't care for it. I enjoy spending time in the lounge and I didn't find SL to be all that relaxing as the lounge is located in the center of the lobby as you enter the SL building and has no windows/views. I also thought the lounge was always busy/chaotic. I had my first YC CL stay this past June and I loved it! If RPC wasn't an option, I'd go back to YC CL over GF SL. Good luck with your decision :).

Thanks for the details on SL. When DD gets married, we will be staying at the Grand Floridian, and if we stay CL, I want our lounge to be more of an escape from the chaos rather than in the midst of it.

AFAIK the bridge/walking path project completion date is unknown at this point (in typical Disney fashion, very little has been said about it).

As for GF SL.... I really don't like to speak poorly of any resort or CL - they are all so different, everywhere has pros and cons, it's very subjective of course - but if I'm being honest GF SL is my least favorite CL. Here are a few thoughts.

Pros:
  • Location of the SL building is very convenient to all GF amenities, Gaspy's the Courtyard Pool, boat dock, etc.
  • The price is usually attractive, relative to other MK resort CL options (I'll suck up a CL experience that maybe isn't my favorite for some savings that allows for other trips, or what not)
  • GF as a resort has some great attributes... nice/big rooms, great dining options, just one monorail stop to and one boat ride from the MK, etc.
  • You get the GF CL experience without the main building (RPC) CL price (although SL does not have some chef-made things the main building has, such as Mickey Waffles)

Cons:
  • The CL lounge is a rather uninspiring physical space- it's in the middle/atrium of the building and feels a bit Hampton Inn'ish in its setup (that's a horrible way to describe it and is hyperbole, but struggling to come up with other words)
  • Everyone is a shift change away from different CM experiences at any CL, but we've never really felt the warm/fuzzies from CMs there
  • Limited control over room view and location since there's only one booking category and anything else is by request only
  • There is debate about this, but of the rooms I've had - one was over the atrium which I thought was a tad on the noisy side from the lounge below.... the other was down a hallway which I thought was probably the quietest room we've ever had at WDW - so YMMV!
  • Many love the GF CL food offerings, but I'd rate them just so-so IMHO (I am likely in the minority with this statement)

Sorry for the downer post! Despite my thoughts, I'd stay there again so it's not like it's so bad I say "never again." It's just in the weighing of pros / cons my list of things that are less favorable is longer here.

Anyway, just one person's opinion out of many. Hope it helps!

It does help. I really appreciate all the information and your past experiences. You touched in lots of things I hadn’t even thought of. Thanks

I was concerned about our upcoming CL stay after reading some of the experiences posted on here several weeks ago, and many folks were kind enough to chime in with helpful advice. In case you didn't see it, because it's easy to miss stuff in these mega-threads, my original question is here, and then there are quite a few responses that may provide you with additional insight!

For what it's worth, we had been booked at BC CL, and we ultimately ended up switching to GF SL for our trip next month. Yeah it's not RPC, but we're pretty excited about it! My husband and kids have only visited GF and haven't stayed there, and I haven't stayed there since the 25th anniversary celebration (unpopular opinion, but I actually loved the castle decorated as a giant birthday cake!), so it will basically be a new experience for all of us. We also ended up planning a lot of park time at MK, and my husband LOVES that boat to/from MK, so part of why we switched was because an MK area resort just made the most sense for this particular trip. Plus we get the benefit of a lovely stroll along the lagoon to the Poly if we get a craving for dole whip/coconut curry meatballs/pulled pork nachos/Lapu Lapus, but without having to pay Poly CL prices or deal with the CL lounge crowds.

I don't think there are many recent SL reviews, so I'm planning on taking photos and posting here to make sure there's some updated info. At least one other DISer on this thread will be in SL overlapping with my family's trip dates, so hopefully your next trip is far enough out that our experiences will help you make a decision!

We are here at the Boardwalk and I love the Garden Suite. We have one that has the balcony and I like it a lot. My husband is up in the air about it, but does like having the separate spaces. I have taken pictures and will post them if anyone is interested. We are off to Epcot today for a little while. The weather is beautiful today!
Would love to see what you think. We’ve got a Garden Suite booked for April. I’ve requested a balcony room, there are only 3. Pix are awesome!

Thank you so much! Hope you & your family have an amazing trip. 😀

Since the last time we stayed I saw there was a new CL option for extra fast passes? Is this still offered and can anyone point me in the right direction to get all the info on cost, how to purchase and use please? I've searched and I'm not really finding a well rounded post about it. TIA

Can anyone confirm that waffles and/or any other hot breakfast option are no longer offered at SL CL.
Is RPC the only CL that has anything hot for breakfast (besides oatmeal)?

I was told in July they are no longer being offered in SL. Hopefully someone has stayed recently and confirm this is still the case.
