I’m hoping we’ll see the early openings at HS while we’re there Xmas-NY week. If we want to be at HS early, let’s say 6:30am, but the official opening is 8am, what time will buses start running?
If the official Opening time is 8:00 buses normally start running at 6:30am. I’m not sure if they’ll run any earlier than that with a posted 8am opening.

Does anyone know the width of the closet?

Also, we usually use a plastic, over the door shoe holder for toiletries so the counter doesn't have a ton of stuff on it. Will this still work with the refurbished rooms?

Thanks!

[\QUOTE] The 2 doors in the bathroom area are now pocket door/barn door style. I’m not sure a holder like that would work or if it did, all your toiletries would be ganging on the side facing into the main living space, not the bathroom. The doors (from my memory) were also thicker than a normal door so not sure the clips would fit either.

I am curious to know what time the skyliner actually starts running in the morning. What time did it start today?

I know this was discussed way back when the renovations first started but I'd like to ask if the pull down bed is as comfortable as the regular bed?

The first rooms were renovated over two and a half years ago now. I’d say we’re approaching the point where the pull down is probably more comfortable then the regular bed In some rooms. If you’re just a party of two who sleeps together, chances are you’re not using the pull down bed at all, so overall, there will be less wear and tear on the Murphy beds.

Can you hear the skyliner in the Lakeview rooms? We have a Prefered room accessible reserved. I just cant decide if it would be quite by buses or by lake view. We have an even split between skyliner days and non skyliner days. Help me pick my prefered views!

Nope! You can barely hear the Skyliner when standing beside it.

I actually like the Murphy better, and often use it even when I am there solo. There is a slight lip around the mattress to keep it in place, where the one on the regular bed tends to slide around a little bit, especially when getting in and out. I also like the headboard better for sitting up in bed to read or watch tv. The mattresses are identical. The only drawback to me is that it’s difficult to reach things on the nightstand from the Murphy. I have started putting things like my tablet on top if the headboard instead, next to the light switch for the bed light.

It doesn’t hurt that I am a huge Pluto fan either pluto:

Never heard the skyliner at all

There are no preferred rooms that are lake view. But if you request 60’s by the bridge you’ll be super close to the gondolas. They’re almost lake-view. :)

we were thinking of taking the Skyliner over to CBR to try their QS options. I know it's a big resort, need to do some research to see how far it is from the Skyliner station.
Took my family and I about 5 minutes to walk from the CBR station to Spyglass Grill. Good breakfast and they have Sprite Zero in their fountain.

I can't wait to spend them on the Festival of the Holidays offerings at the food booths in 12 days! Some look fantastic!
I was really impressed with the Fondue bread bowl at Germany and the Pastrami sandwich at L'chaim. Really wanted to try the BaoBun at China, but it was getting too close to our ADR at Garden Grill, looking back, maybe I should have gone with the snacks.

If you don't put the yellow luggage tags on your baggage you will claim it at the Orlando airport and bring it with you on DME.

Our rule of thumb is that if we land at 5pm or later, we definitely bring our luggage with us ourselves and sometimes even if we land after 4pm we take our luggage with us.

DME says that they should get your luggage to your room 3 hours after you arrive at Pop but there is also no guarantee. I estimate 2 hours from landing until we get to Pop. (It often doesn't take that long but it has taken 2 hours more than once.) Add 3 hours to that for luggage delivery. Personally, I don't want our luggage arriving at 10pm (or later). By that time on a travel day I want to be heading to bed, not starting to unpack suitcases.

As with many things, this is personal choice though. Other families may not pack 2 huge suitcases for 2 people. :rolleyes1
When you put it like that, now I'm starting to consider not using the yellow tags. Our flight is supposed to arrive at 4:10pm. I thought that was decently early, but I don't want to wait for my luggage to arrive at 10 either! Especially since we'll have our 5 year old with us, and it will be past our bedtimes. And not to mention if there is a delay of any kind with my flight.

So if we decide to collect our own luggage at baggage claim, we should NOT put the yellow tags on our luggage right? Then we would just head to baggage claim like we would for any other trip? And then we take our luggage to the DME desk? Hmm, I might just do that. I'm one of those people who can't settle in a hotel room until I am unpacked. And please remind me, we don't use the yellow tags when we are leaving Disney do we? We just leave our luggage with the hotel, and they ensure it gets to the airport?

Sorry for the questions; it's been 7 years since we've gone. Thanks!
