I apologize if this has been addressed. I read the back several pages in addition to the very helpful intro, but didn't see anything about a split stay with the club level fast passes. If we have 4 nights in a regular room and 2 nights in a club level room, will be be able to purchase the fast passes for any of the days during our stay or will it be limited to the days we are staying club level?

TIA!

It’ll be for the 3 CL days.

Assume you have a FP for an attraction that is weather dependent and it is closed.

Do you get an anytime FP for that particular attraction? Or an anytime FP for any attraction?

In the event I have an anytime FP, how does that affect ability to pick up 4th+ FP? Do I have to use the anytime FP before I can pick up 4th+?

This question is in preparation for coming week when Dorian may be closing attractions for extended periods of time.

When an FP anytimes, you get a multi experience FP for that ride and most of the other rides in that park. Multi experience FPs will generally exclude more popular or higher tier rides in the park (a mutli for Spaceship Earth won't work at test track but will be valid for the other epcot tier 2s).

When it goes multi, the FP no longer counts against your total for the day. You can immediately pull another FP while you hold it. If it was one of your initial tier 2 rides, then it also means you will have to pick up and use another tier 2 before you can refresh for a tier one.

In my same example, if your Spaceship Earth FP went multi and you used it later in the day, along with another tier 2 and a tier 1, the system will only treat you as having used one tier 2 FP and won't let you refresh for a tier 1 until you do another tier 2.

I was surprised that when AK closed early this week due to the weather I had an expedition Everest fast pass in the evening that we couldn’t use since parks closed... and couldn’t find an earlier time... we didn’t get a multi experience fast pass for the next day. It wasn’t really needed but usually when a ride closes you get one.

I was on a group on another social media page where some folks reported recently that simply letting their Tier 2 FPs expire wasn't working, now you actually have to tap in (and ride or not) before you can book your 4th FP. So here was my plan. Our flight gets in mid-afternoon and I was planning on booking some random Tier 2 at HS earlier in the day, then a Star Tours and (fingers crossed) Slinky Dog or TSMM after that - we ride both Star Tours and the Tier 1 with the other Tier 2 having expired earlier in the day. This worked for us in June.

But it sounds like my Tier 2 from earlier in the day expiring doesn't count as "used" any more? Is this a change since June?

It depends. Nothing has changed, it just sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I would think it should expire because you are using #2 and #3 but there's really no way to know ahead of time.

Okay, so no changes, maybe just glitchy or perhaps people not realizing that they have to wait for the END of the window of that FP that they aren't using? I wonder why all these people are thinking that it's no longer working.

I've had them not fall off, even many hours after the window. I've also had them expire properly. People just go off of their latest experience and stories they hear. I do like to prepare people to have to deal with it not expiring because it can throw things off if that was your plan and it doesn't expire.

Glad I read these tips b/c it helped me tighten up my schedule all the more, and prepare for our day of stuff. Especially for DHS. With all the good stuff being Tier 1 now, most of the Tier 2s are a waste. We are planning DHS in the morning/afternoon, then Epcot that late afternoon/evening.

I had FPs for RnRc, Star Tours and Muppets. The muppets was a garbage FP. I made it about 15 mins before our lunch ADR knowing I could tap but not ride and make my 4th one for Epcot later in the day. But reading this, sounds like my best bet is to cancel it in advance so that once I tap in at RnRc I can go ahead and schedule that third one. And also, if I get to Star Tours and it's a low wait, I can cancel that one as well (rather than tapping) and have two I can make at Epcot in advance. Is that correct? Can only one of those two Epcot ones be Tier 1, or does it matter since they are at a different park?

Correct. Cancel Muppets. Only 1 EP can be a tier 1, so keep Star Tours. Then you can try for a second EP tier 1 faster.

Hi guys!
Tomorrow is our FP day.
We will be spending 3 weeks at Disney, so plan on doing multiple days at each park and splitting each visit up by spending the 3-4 hours in one area of the park.
Any suggestions on how to break the days up by area of park; and FP picks in this case?

HS: Our kids are young so we will be skipping ToT and RnRC during the day; we will try our luck going back without them at night while they’re with grandma.
Epcot: we are staying at BCV and plan on heading over multiple nights for Food and Wine and Festival of the Holidays, so we plan on touring World Showcase on those nights. We will do a few mornings touring, 3 hours or so each time. 9a-noon likely.
MK: Visiting 5+ mornings, 9a-noonish. Staying later one day for parade. Have reserved seating from Tony’s package.
AK: Visiting 3ish times. 9am-noon or so.

I haven't read all 44 pages, but I have skimmed a bit, and didn't see my question addressed.

I am going for 7 days, onsite for the first night and then offsite at a 60-day FP eligible hotel. Unfortunately, I have not been able to link the Disney Springs hotel, so Disney offered me phone CM help with booking the last 5 days of my stay with phone CMs (I was able to book the first two days myself from the onsite stay). Last night I booked FP for those dates, but they're not "regular" FP. I cannot modify them; only a phone CM can do that, or guest services at the park. In MDX, it says "please enjoy an extra Fastpass+ experience! Experience, arrival window and number of Guests can't be changed."

What are my options? I took some not entirely optimal times for SDD with the intention of using modify. I asked if I would be able to modify once I'm in the 30-day window, and was told no. I don't want to sound ungrateful because I do appreciate the courtesy of having the CM book my FP, but I don't like being truly locked into the choices I made yesterday for the majority of my trip.

The FP system now is more accommodating to guests who park hop yet many DISers don’t know about this info.

Guests don’t have to pre-book 3 FPs...if they only pre-book 1 (or 2 FPs), as soon as they enter the line for FP#1, they can immediately book the remaining ‘initial’ FPs at Park#2 and/or Park#3...including Tier 1 attractions.

From the FP FAQ ADDENDUM STICKY:

When_2 or less FP are booked for Park #1:
If you book fewer than three FP and once you scan the first FP from within the first park, you can at that point make FP selections for a different park, even if you still have a FP remaining in the first park.

This can be especially helpful for Tiered parks – if for example you wish to hit Epcot at rope drop, use only a Tier 1 FP and then still have 2 more FP for another park later in the day.

Additionally, there is no restriction on Tier requirements BETWEEN PARKS during one day. So if you use a Tier 1 at Epcot you can then book a second Tier 1 at HS immediately upon scanning – Also, you can even book your remaining two FP at two different parks if you would like!

NOTE: Splitting FP between parks or booking for another park CANNOT be done until the same day, AFTER you have already scanned your card/MB at the first FP Mickey head to “prove” to the system that you’re in a park.

You cannot book for 2 different parks in advance or even on the same day until you have scanned your first FP (not just entered the park).
I'm really sorry if this is off topic or not the appropriate place for questions, but . . .
. . . Hiro, you just blew my mind. When did this change happen? (I'm wondering how many trips I've taken without taking advantage of this.) I recently booked FPs for our upcoming trip. Can I cancel the "unnecessaries" and still use this strategy, or have I messed it up by already booking three in our first park every day?

Spring of 2016 ~ a few months prior to the FP FAQ ADDENDUM compilation of pertinent info.
Yes! 😊
It works very well for Tier 1 rides that still have day-of availability like Soarin'.
Rides like FoP, SlinkyDog, 7DMT are usually booked solid 62+ days out. However...

Besides being able to 'catch' a cancelled FP from other people, WDW does 'drop' FPs into the system during the day. There is a schedule, mostly right after the hour/half hour.

Let me see if I can dig that up in my phone. OK found it, I'm going Dec 10-15.
Please leave a few of these for my family, lol :D

AK 11:01, 1:01, 3:01, 5:01
HS 9:31, 12:01, 2:31
EP 11:31, 1:31, 3:31

Enjoy! Before I knew this was a thing, I caught FoP FPs for 3ppl on a pretty busy day around 1:10p. Those FPs may have been part of this.

Right? Mine too!!!! Woohoo, just cancelled my throwaway passes!

I'm looking for opinions/advice about canceling my 3rd FP. On 12/24, our day starts at Ale&Compass for our CP breakfast at 9am. We are going to AK where I have 11am safari, 12:15 FOP, and a later-in-the-afternoon FP for FotLK. That one's pretty much a throw-away, but I figured being Christmas Eve and it's my favorite Disney show, I'd grab it. I just learned that I don't need to use 3 FPs in one park, I can use 2 and then book my 3rd in another. SO... should I cancel the LK FP and hope I can get a FP for Soarin? Do I have to wait to tap into FoP before canceling LK and trying for Soarin, or can I cancel LK now and try as soon as we tap into FoP? Do you think there'll be any Soarin FPs left at noon-ish on Christmas Eve?

You can cancel your 3rd FP now or day of. When you tap into your 11AM Safari you can already start looking for Soarin'

I have 3 FPs booked at AK: EE in the morning and Dinosaur and FOP in the afternoon. If I let EE expire and use the Dinosaur and FOP FP's, then book NRJ after entering the line for FoP, could I then go back and reschedule the missed Everest FP before I use the NRJ one or would the system not allow me to modify the expired one?
