March vs June.

I wish we could go in May. School doesn’t get out until the end of the month, so the first week in June is the earliest we could go.

Second week of March is my jam. Last year, crowds were moderate to heavy that week, depending on the park of course, and weather was warm but not oppressive. Swimming was fine. Nights can get cooler but it’s Florida not Minnesota.

We usually do Spring Break or the last week of July so weather is definitely in March, but I always have to pack more because I’m the evenings you need a jacket, and I always bring at least one pair of jeans and something to layer with if it cooler than normal. This last March it rained the entire day we were in Epcot and it was a cold miserable day. It was light enough that it would have been fine if it hadn’t been so cold. This year we are going the first week of June and so far the crowd calendars are predicting it to be a lot less crowded.

Sorry to hear you had chilly weather last year. Thank you for your answer. If I can re-find my summer discounts, I’m leaning towards that 1st week in June too.

We’ve generally gone spring break. Crowds are tough (but aren’t they always). We’ve had weather that was so hot, so cold and so rainy different trips so you just can’t predict. We will be there first week of June for the first time this year as well a little worried about the weather being too hot. But I think crowds will be better. And I am happy to have more time for ROTR to work out its issues so we can hopefully ride when we are there. Still also going the remy ride will be open. Depending on your dates in March you might miss the opening of the new railway ride if you care ...

We were there 1st week of June last year and we lucked out that there were really no rainstorms, but honestly it was pretty hot. It really only got to us on some of those long parks days. We’re from a similar climate to Orlando though. This year if we do go again in June, I think we’d try to take it easier on the park and schedule more resort time midday.
We’d get there just in time for Mickey’s railroad in March.
Have you heard anything about Remy? We’d love get to do that one.

I’ve been looking at my plans to minimize any midday touring. It’s a challenge as it’s a big change from what we’ve done in the past.
All I’ve heard about remy is “summer 2020” so technicall early June would still be spring. I’m still hoping it might open early but not counting on it. There is a lot else new we haven’t seen yet so plenty else to do!

I guess that true about June still being spring season to Disney. I do hope they end up surprising us with an early date. I guess all the Star Wars stuff would keep us busy enough (we just missed galaxys edge last summer)
Yes, it can be hard to eliminate the parks midday with the way FPs workout. Good luck & enjoy the planning.

I've probably been in June more often than any other month.

You need to tweak your question a bit and ask, "WHEN in June?" The first week of June will be more modest in terms of weather and the crowds will be smaller, whereas the last week of June will be full-scale summer /only one week before July 4th.

Was definitely looking at the first week of June.

Any experience or estimations with crowds in early March (7th-13th) vs first week of June (approximately 1st-7th)?

Never been in March—how is the weather? Swimming?
We haven't been in March, as we don't want to fight the spring break crowds. We went the last week of May/first couple of days in June this year. They had "unusually warm" weather for that time, is what we heard many people say. From a crowd perspective, it wasn't horrible. We found the best plan was to go at park opening and stay until about lunch time. Then we went back to the room for lunch/naps/swimming. Depending on the mood of the twin 2-year olds, we would then head back to the parks in the evening after it started cooling down a bit. By the time we got back to the parks in the evenings, the crowds had usually thinned out a bit, so both the temps and the crowds were more tolerable. :)

I don't bother trying to time the crowds anymore.

I go when the weather is good, the kids are out of school, and the park hours are extended, which means March and Spring Break crowds. WDW is always busy now, crowds are a fact of life no matter when you go, especially with them adjusting staffing, hours, and ride capacity to crowd levels. I much rather visit when the parks are open longer hours, the weather is nice, and the rides are running at full capacity.

Need to tweak the question for March too. There can be a noticeable difference between going March 2 and March 17, for example.

Thank you for the advice. That sounds like good planning.

I would definitely do with first week of March. The second week...maybe not so much. I'm not sure when the 2020 spring break surge hits.

I think a lot of people are scared away by anything in March, but the first week of March is usually pretty good as far as crowds. Second and third week is when the real spring break crush hits.

I'm looking at a crowd calendar and crowds are projected to be high but what I would consider manageable for a good part of the March week you're considering; June, light to moderate, depending on when in June you would be going. If it's purely a crowd perspective June wins IMHO. But March has better weather, so YMMV.
