Disney Outlet Store Warning

I just don't get it. I have been there several times, and it's typically so crowded you can barely move around, and the checkout line is always to the back wall or worse.

I have never. Repeat. Never. Found anything I had to have. It's mostly crap that didn't sell in the parks. It's pins no one wants, it's tons of gay pride stuff, it's toys with odd features. It's movie or park opening related stuff that isn't really well-designed. etc.

Sometimes they have princess dresses, or something my kids want, but nothing I'd wait in line for. My wife is willing, and has done it a couple times. I typically bail, and go buy the kids' shoes and make it back in time to meet my wife leaving the store.

I went in June, and there was no line, but there wasn't much merchandise I was interested in, either. Granted, we went in the afternoon, so I expected it to be picked over, but I really expected to find something, maybe some random cheap pins we could use for trading. Nope. I do better at my local mall during the Twice Upon a Year sale.

Just stumbled across this. We were planning a trip on our arrival day in the evening but this sort of has me worried. We always went there to pick up magic bands before we went to the parks as we stay off site. Do they even still carry magic bands?

I think at this point, you have to assume the outlet won't necessarily have anything you're looking for. If you go and they have something you want, great. If not, have a back up. I don't know if the outlet has MBs on a regular basis. I don't remember seeing them there when we went back in June - there were pretty slim pickings in general.

You can easily use MBs purchased from previous trips.

If you'd like something more custom, maybe see about getting some kind of skin off etsy to customize a plain band. Reusing old bands and adding new decals is likely cheaper than even the outlet would have (even assuming there were any MBs in stock).

We do have a backup. Our magic bands are still the old ones since our last trip was two years ago. while I know they'll work for tapping in and FP, I think the batteries are probably dead by now. We have memory maker so I want to make sure ride photos are getting picked up. In the past, we could always pick up ones other than the regular plain colored ones. The back up is just to buy one of the plain ones in the park now, so no loss if they don't have any at the store. Since we have to make a stop at the Publix at Vineland anyway, I think we'll just stop at the outlet shop as well and have a look. If they have magic bands of any kind, great! Kids are not picky. If they don't have any, we'll buy some at the parks.
