When my DD and her BF go next week, they are going to try to get themselves a BG once the park opens while I also try to get them a BG. I will be at home multiple states away but I figured it won’t hurt to have a third person logging in and trying. If I’m the one to secure their BG first, how will they know other than me texting them? Since we will all be logged into the same MDE account, will they see the assigned BG just pop up? I don’t want them to start freaking out that it’s not working when I’ve had success from many miles away. I hope that question makes sense :)
They will get a notice that they are already in a BG.

Unfortunately that won't work. In order for someone to get a boarding group, you have to be in the park past the turnstiles when the park opens. Your DD and her BF can do it on both their phones if they have them with them, but as you'll be several states away unfortunately it won't work. (At least that's my understanding from what people have said in this thread and other blogs, I think it's to discourage people from booking from their hotel/home/etc while others have gotten there somewhat early, lined up and gotten inside the park in hopes of getting a BG.)

Someone here reported doing just this for her friends. SHE could not be in the BG because she was not scanned into the park. But she could sign into their MDE and book a BG for them, as they were in the park.

But, I won’t be booking for a person not in the park (me). I will be booking only for the two people who are in the park (my DD and her BF). From what I’ve heard this will work.

Interesting. If that's the case then awesome and what a nice thing to do ^_^ Hope it works out.

You would want to arrive at least 30 minutes or more before scheduled park opening ( up to an hour) just to assure you are in the park a few minutes before scheduled opening. Traffic, bus schedules, long lines at security checkin, and at the park entry tapstiles can slow your entry. So it’s good to get there early. Everyone that wants to ride must be inside the park in order for you to get a boarding group. On average you will likely be allowed into the park about a half hour early, then held on Hollywood Blvd. The boarding group process on the Ap will open at scheduled opening and seconds matter if you want an early boarding group and all regular boarding groups will be assigned rather quickly.

:wave2: That “someone” here! My DH went to ride with his brother the day before DD and I arrived last week. I was still at home in MD, logged into my DH’s MDX account. At park open, I selected only the two of them and then tapped “Join Boarding Group.” I got through just before my BIL did. He didn’t realize I was trying and apparently asked my DH, “Why does it say I’m already in a boarding group?” and right around the same moment DH got a text from me saying that I’d gotten them into BG 13.

That's so cool that it works that way!

You were logged into your DH's MDE account while your BIL was logged into his own account, correct? I wonder whether it would work if you had both been logged into the same account. I think most if not all of the reports I've read implied that people were logged into separate MDE accounts that all contained the same Friends and Family members (all members of the BG party were included in all of their separate MDE accounts).

That’s correct. DH was also logged into his own account but the “Join Boarding Group” button still hadn’t turned red for him at that point.

Actually, I think other people have reported you can have multiple people logged into the same MDE account trying for a boarding group.
