On the Floor and Out the Door!: a 17 day HalloChristmas, RunDisney, MNSSHP, HHN, MVMCP adventure! new 2/8!

A few years ago Chris and I ended up being 30 minutes late to our Narcoosssee's ADR due to mom and monorail failure :rolleyes1 I ran in blabbering about the monorail breaking down and they didn't blink an eye, just sat us right away. I feel that with the most likely exception of holidays they'll seat you within an hour or so!

I think you're right. We've run a little late a lot and the only time they ever gave us a hard time was Le Cellier. I forget how late we were but it was downpouring and took us forever to walk there and they had to "call someone" to see if they could still seat us. They did after like 20 minutes and then half the restaurant was empty 🤷‍♀️

OMG  that's great! You can blackmail Pooh now!

:rotfl::rotfl:

I'm not really all that surprised.
I mean... I guess an ADR isn't a reservation, per se. They don't hold a table for you. It's more of... a planning tool. So many tables turned over in so much time.
So I think you're being late probably didn't affect anything overly much.

Very good point. We've only been given a hard time about being late once at Le Cellier (see story in above comment lol)

I might've had the same. :)

It was delicious!

Thank you :goodvibes

Very possible lol.

And... I like your outfits, too!

Thank you!

I don't know how you guys drive! We would never make it. But good for you guys!

I used to say we'd never drive but I don't mind it. But we also don't have children to entertain lol.

We stayed here in August, in the regular section and the line wasn't that long when we checked in but it took FOREVER!!!!!

Ugh everyone seems to have the same experience. Hopefully they get it worked out soon!

I feel like most of the restaurants in the parks have to accept that people will be late. It is hard to time rides and crossing the park, especially if you are new. They have to be used to it.

True- I'm sure it's something that happens constantly.

I'm glad the meal was a turn around for the day. Definitely sounded like sitting down and being able to relax was exactly what you guys needed after the hectic morning!

It really did the trick of getting us into the Disney spirit and turning things around!

Oh, that photo with Pooh. :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Wow, that last photo of the castle with the blue skies just made me miss the MK. Wouldn't it be nice to be there right about now? ::yes::

Yess it really would. Those blue skies look especially pretty compared to the gloomy winter we have right now.

Enjoying your trip report!

Thank you for reading!!

I am a retired ICURN, and we had weird shift hours due to no one wanting to work nights. The answer? We all shared nights. We worked 12 hour shifts from 3 to 3:30. I did the 3pm to 3:30am shift and could not seem to get enough sleep! SO I know what you are dealing with, and you still have a sense of humor, LOL. I get grumpy without sleep!

Oo wow that was an interesting solution. So did the day shift come in at 3 am? Our hospital just added these new "mid" shifts to try to help ease the staffing burden so we now have nurses that work 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 9a-9p, 3p-3a and 7p-7a. It's a little confusing some days but I think it's working.

Sounds like your trip is looking up. Crystal palace is one of my favorite character breakfast. I haven’t tried it for other meals.

Breakfast is the best option in my opinion. That's what we will stick to in the future!

I’m from Staten Island as well but moved to Long Island for 10 years and now enjoying southern Florida

Wow! Rare to meet other Staten Islanders lol.

I'm so glad your day turned around with your great experience at Crystal Palace! Hooray to the wonderful host who didn't give you any issues at check-in!

I was so glad it worked out so well and turned things around.

The characters look SO excited that you were dressed like them! Your pictures with Pooh are great and Mike's pictures with Tigger are quite funny as Tigger looks WAY more excited than Mike.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Mike doesn't get very excited about much so Tigger was 1000% more excited than him lol.

I've only ever been to Crystal Palace for breakfast (it's a must-do for me now) so I'm glad to hear you think that's the superior meal there... but your lunch looks pretty good so perhaps sometime I'll have to give that a try!

I think we'll stick with breakfast there in the future. Or maybe a late breakfast reservation to try to hit both breakfast and lunch foods!

It really depends on my mood...
I might have been feeling thankful that they kept my ADR despite my tardiness.
Or...

If I was maybe in not so great a mood... or depending on the host/hostess's attitude... might have asked to speak to a manager and ask why we were kept waiting for 20 minutes? Did they not have enough staff? (Which is possible and I would accept as a valid reason.)
But if they kept me waiting to make a point... yeah... I might've expressed a bit of displeasure.

Yes, the day shift started at 3AM! It was weird, and I couldn't handle the lack of sleep even though I loved the job. I would get home after report at 4:30 or 5am, sleep til 9am, and tried for a nap later, but it never worked. I changed to home care and hospice after a year of that routine:)

Yeah we kinda had both reactions lol. It was pouring outside and the first day of our trip so at first we were grateful to be accommodated. Then when we realized how empty it was we were kinda annoyed but our server and our meal were amazing so we got over it quickly thankfully!

I think the girls would do better than the adults... They each have an iPad, so they would be fine! Ha! It's the adults that would probably go crazy.

Lol true! For me it's usually on the drive home where I start to get antsy. On the way there, my excitement can get me through but on the way home, I'm sad the trip is over so I just want to be home lol
