An "Expert" Wine and Dine Trip Report! Updated (1/1)

Cantina time!

IMG_6495.jpg

So I headed via Skyliner to DHS post half as we had a reservation for Oga's! I was really excited to check this out. Before that though I stopped for something quick to eat at Backlot Express. I ordered some chicken strips and it turns out I was awarded the "magic tray" its a red tray instead of a brown tray and they sing a song. Also you get a free dessert which was a cupcake.

The cupcake was rather meh. It was a nice little thing they did though!

Then it was cantina time!

We had to wait for a few minutes before going in. Kylo with his First Order troopers

Then it was time to go in!

We were given a spot at the bar. I loved checking out all the details throughout the cantina. I ended up with the Yub Nub!

IMG_6509.jpg

This was actually pretty good. Its expensive due to the souvenir mug but I was glad I got it.

The cantina is a great spot for me as a Star Wars fan. I loved DJ Rex and the atmosphere. It is definitely expensive but a great way to celebrate on a race weekend!

I couldn't get a reservation for Oga's when we went in September - but I have one for marathon weekend! Love the cup!

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the souvenir yub nub mug. I was also glad I spent the money for one.

Party time!

I don't really have any photos of the rest of the day until the Wine and Dine party. I hung out with friends at DHS for a bit then we went to the Swan and hung out and then wandered over to Yacht Club for drinks and some snacks at Crew's Cup. After that we then wandered to Epcot to get ready for the after party. We grabbed some drinks when we walked in at Rose and Crown and then went to get a spot for Epcot Forever.

I wasn't sure what to think of Epcot Forever and I did see it online. I was a huge Illuminations fan so seeing something different at Epcot was a bit weird.

Overall I did enjoy Epcot Forever. The flash backs to great Epcot music was awesome but I will forever miss Illuminations. I am excited to see what the future holds with harmonious though.

After that we headed over to Mexico to start our journey around the world. Several Disers and myself made our way around the world celebrating the weekend. Again no photos just enjoying ourself. We did go on Test Track though as well as Soarin which I may or may not have fallen asleep on... Just ask @jennamfeo

Looking forward to the new fireworks show at Epcot! Illuminations had been there forever - I know I'm in the minority here but I didn't love it. Too much "downtime" in the show. Fun way to celebrate the end of race weekend!

I liked Epcot Forever better in person than on video online. Hope you like it too!

Photo time!

I went to Magic Kingdom first thing in the morning to see the rest of the decor as well as take some medal photos. I had no other plans at this park.

It was really cool seeing the change over from Halloween to Christmas within the couple days.

@jennamfeo was at MK so I said hi and goodbye to her before she left to go home. After that I wandered a bit through the Emporium seeing if anything caught my eye. I then headed out and onto Animal Kingdom.

Wrapping up in style!

We took an Uber from Animal Kingdom to Disney Springs. Bongos was no more but now it isn't anything....

We were headed to Jaleo! I was excited to check this place out.

A pitcher of sangria was ordered...

The medal went well with the color scheme of this restaurant.

IMG_6732.jpg

We also got an assortment of food items which I all tried. I will say the olives were not for me.

I really enjoyed Jaleo and would definitely go back again.

I stopped in Disney Style and got my mom an Alex and Ani Christmas bracelet.

We then headed over to the window at Paradiso 37 and got $5 margaritas!

IMG_6738.jpg

Finishing it up we got drinks at Homecomin too...

It was time to head to the airport then. We all shared an Uber there something I had never done. I always take Magical Express but I "missed" the bus and didn't have to spend 3 hours at the airport!

Soon enough I was on a place headed back to the much colder and snowier Wisconsin...

IMG_6763.jpg

I watched the new Aladdin on the way home.

I got home around midnight and that was that. I had an absolute blast that weekend. runDisney is always fun but its even more fun when you spend it with friends. We are now a week out from Marathon Weekend 2020! I wanted to wrap this up now though as I leave for Nashville tomorrow for an extended weekend with my dad. Should be an exciting roughly two weeks!

Thank you for following along!

I enjoyed your report and congratulations on completing all 3 races, I love your medal pictures.
Good luck on the Goofy challenge
We will be coming to WDW on 1/14 so after the marathon.

Good luck with your upcoming races. I hope you get good running weather and no rain.
We booked a last minute trip - Jan 12 to 16th at POR. If I see a guy wearing a lot of medals then I'll say high. We have gone to WDW over race weekends before and I love seeing the race shirts and medals that people wear in the parks. :)
