AP Discount Watch and FAQ 2023. 10% - 40% off select nights July 11 - Sept 28; Oct 2 - Dec 25

I’m having the same problem and I need to leave in 5 minutes, so this will just have to wait.

Such a pain- I have the cold from you know where and would much prefer laying in bed in misery! What we sacrifice for discounts! lol

I called to try to change our reservation. I have 3 rooms booked and if I tried to apply the ap discount with tickets and dining for the other two rooms the price went up. My room is a King Bed room at CBR ticketless with dining and have a 25% pin applied and she said because I booked last June at a lower rate, the price would be higher. I tried changing to POR so the other 2 rooms could get a discount (just the sun and fun for everyone) but I couldn't get a King room in the same section and it would still be $500 more. Ended up staying with my CBR reservations and no discount. So frustrated.

I couldn't get anything to load on my phone (orbit) but no orbit on my laptop!

My room wasn't available at all that I originally booked just days ago on UT, so I rebooked a more expensive room category (lol) through Disney. Only $100 more for the entire trip. (From CSR tower standard to tower water...I hear standard has better fireworks viewing chances oh well).

I’ll call UT later and cancel and see if the room comes back. I noticed that it was no longer available on Disneys website right after I booked it, so maybe there’s a slim chance. If I can make the switch I’d save $85 compared to my original reservation.

So basically I’m paying $100 for the ability to modify my website directly through Disney, ha! But last trip there was no discount availability for my room and I modified it online the night before check in because availability popped up and saved $40/night so I’ll take the risk, whereas with the UT reservation I wouldn’t have the flexibility (up to last minute especially).

Has anyone else noticed that the public offer and AP offer sometimes have the same room, only, discount? I did not check all resorts, but noticed checking room rates on some Deluxe resorts, for non-weekend dates.

I noticed this for the room discounts Jan - April.

And while last Fall, sometimes the weekends were discounted and sometimes they weren't, I've seen many resorts in the Jan - April timeframe that did not have a weekend discount and it never reappeared.

Anyone get any exceptional deals?

So I couldn’t get an AP discount for BCV ( I’m gonna keep trying ). But for now we switched to BWV. It was weird though because the GP discount was better than the AP discount.

We got the 35% discount at BC for our trip over the 4th of July weekend. There wasn't any availability for the lowest priced rooms, though. But 35% is still a good discount. :)

I had to wait 30 minutes to get into the website but once I was in it has been easy to search different dates and resorts.

I got an AP rate for the AoA Mermaid rooms for mid June - only $67 (total) cheaper than the non-AP Sun&Fun discount, but hey .. that pays for a meal for the family, so cannot complain..

I do not have an AP yet. How do they verify that you have one on check-in if you do online check-in?Will I need to physically go to the front desk to show my AP? Do you just get charged rack rate if you dont have the AP at check-in?

Also - my plan was to get an AP JUST for my daughter since my wife and son already have tickets I purchased 6+ years ago that are still valid. I assume that AP rates work fine even if the only Passholder is 3 years old? :)

Finally got in to see the rates, but it wouldn't let me book. Had to call to get the room, but it's done, finally.

I booked a discount of my room in July while muttering to myself that it was an absolutely horrible discount, only $37 off. Then I came in here and realized that the offer only runs until the second day of our trip. I quickly went and looked at my confirmation email and sure enough only the first two nights of our seven night trip are discount. The actual rate for our room at Poly with the discount was over $100 less (don't feel like calculating the actual amount, so lazy today) than rack rate, which isn't horrible, but now I guess I either have to try and do a BB offer when I'm at BWI later this month, or hope another discount comes out that covers our entire trip *sigh*. Just keep on waiting and hoping.

I can't answer your second question about a 3 year old AP holder with 100% certainty, but I think the person booking the discount has to be the lead on the reservation, and since a 3 year old can't be the lead on a reservation that might not work. In reply to your first question regarding check-in, I always do online check-in and the first few times I booked an AP discount I dutifully went up to the desk to verify I had an AP....and they looked at me, every single time, like I was nuts. So this summer, with 4 trips booked on an AP discount, I bypassed the desk and never had an issue. It's in your account, so I assume the only issue would be if you have an AP when you booked but then didn't renew it before a trip, but then got an AP while on-site. I would personally purchase the AP ahead of time if wanting to use the AP for the reservation and just activate it once there. I usually head to the parks anyway before my room is ready so I can activate it then and then go check-in later.

A 3-year old pays the same as a 40-year old for an AP, and the benefits are the same, so her AP should be enough. Maybe just call Disney Reservations to make sure?

They do say that you have to show it when checking in, but my experience with APs is that they can see everything about me on their system and the very first thing that pops under my name is my Annual Pass, vinotinto Active Platinum Annual Pass, so they already knew I have an annual pass when I have accessed my room.

FYI, I've done online check-in and have usually received my room number through the MDE ap, but a few times I have had to go to the front desk. So, even if you do online check in, you may have to stop by the front desk. I wonder if you don't have an AP showing in the account, if you would need to stop by the front desk.

I guess I will call and verify before I pull the trigger on her AP. Just debating between going this summer and maybe waiting until December to go with another family ... and just getting APs for the ENTIRE family to use for the 50th anniversary year.

I have these non-expiration tickets I got in 2014 .. that I feel like are gold. The longer I dont use them, the more valuable they become! (They averaged out to $75/day (with hopper) ..which is practically half price of todays prices!
