“Life is Grand, it Yacht to be, we are at Disney! 1/29 New TR link, a question, and this TR is complete!

We've ridden the MS vehicles a few times, so neat to have an "escort" of sorts down to the castle. Definitely try it next time!
Andi was way ahead of me when I realized we could get a ride, maybe next time!
The kids had this a couple years ago in a slushie from Tomorrowland and it was GROSS. Too much sugar even for them.
The straw was gross! I did like the slushy
LOL yes it's a good filler. In July we all did it and it was a first for Chris and Ricky didn't remember anything about it
It is a good place to cool off and rest
YAY! Fourteen for us as of today too!
One week from tomorrow and I will be “home”, I peeked at the extended weather and it looks gorgeous and warm down there next week, I hope it stays that way!
Probably the best decision one can make while in WDW ::yes::
Love the nachos!
did the Rhino tour with Jenny and Joe and really want to do it again with the family. And super excited for the UnDiscovered tour this month!
We loved the Rhino tour so fun, I think you all will really enjoy the WS tour!

Happy New Year Caroline! I'd fallen behind on your TR but was able to catch up over the holidays! So excuse my very delayed reactions!
Hi Hanna, glad to have you reading along!
Oh my, I've never seen the Tarzan M&G and I'm kind of surprised that this costume is still around. Wonder what that casting process is like
Not a typical fully clothed character meet :hyper:
Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Gran Destino. I have a room booked here in July (if I decide to brave the heat) and it looks so beautiful! 160 is such a great rate, even POP costs that much these days!
I am very excited to stay here, the rate is so good, it wasn’t much more than Pop. I hope you decide to brave the heat and take a trip in July!
We tried the Polite Pig on our recent trip and absolutely loved it!
I agree, it was yummy!
Your room at the Grand looked so pretty, we hope to stay there some day if the price is right
I really like the Grand, the magical deal in August is the only way we have been able to afford staying there, that deal is getting more expensive each year now, bummer!
think I will have to try Yak & the Yeti one of these days! Your food always looks good and I signed up for a Landry's card since we have so many of those restaurants here in Minneapolis.
Definitely try Yak and Yeti, so good!
I forgot it got so cold so early (November 7th!) this year! It feels like we've had a heat wave lately with the high 20s. Makes me wonder what's to come...
We have had nicer weather the last few weeks, thank goodness
loved Indiana Jones and it's supposed to be the same as Dinosaur, but I rode Dinosaur for the first time in December and they felt so different. Not sure I could ride either more than a few times in a row without a massive headache or whiplash :rotfl2:
I have been to Disneyland many years ago and did really like Indiana Jones. Dinosaur has so many good memories for Andi and I! It is jerky and bouncy!
Rino tour sounds awesome,
It really is, I highly recommend it
That bread service keeps calling to me though, I will have to make the trek out on an AK park day.
It is one of my favorite places, love the bread service yummy
Hagrid's is AMAZING, I hope you can ride it! The lines are so much more manageable now,
You are so lucky you got on! It sounds awesome, I hope to try it out soon
also tried the macarons thanks to your reviews, so delicious! I wanted to buy everything at Toothsome's!
Yay, you got the delicious macarons
need some tips from Andi. I read a guide on which targets to aim for and I still struggled to hit one 100k target  I'm much better at Midway Mania since I can see my shots, ha!
The volcano is the only one she told me about. I know there are more!
Every mother/daughter duo must be like this! Sometimes I wonder how my mom has the patience to put up with my snappy moods
Little travel spats are so normal! 99% of the time is awesome 😎
We shared the oreo milkshake too and thought it was so good!
That is really good!
The Epcot tour seems so interesting, I didn't realize they did this. I definitely am guilty of overlooking everything in the WS. I've been in all the shops and tend to skip most of them apart from Mitsukoshi in Japan.
It was a very interesting tour, I really enjoyed it. We love Mitsukoshi!
How amazing would that be! I keep telling my mom she needs to do this, either in FL or AZ.
It will be so wonderful, I can’t wait
We loved using airline check in for the first time!
It is the best
My favorite ride, we always make sure to get a picture by one of the Gophers signs!
Love WtP
There's hope for Andi, this ride is slowly growing on me!
Yay, this is my favorite ride in MK
We thought this was the case when we saw it
I agree, looked like it was changed from Hilary.
Those noodles look so good, I will have to make a special trip to try those if I'm not feeling CHH or Pecos Bills.
Take a trip to Captain Cooks, it is worth it for a different lunch than MK
Thanks so much for all your comments!

love that area too
The aquarium is always a must for us
That all sounds so good! But yeah, way too much food. Such a waste.
It was so much food!
YAY!! I always ask now, but nice to just get it.
B1 is the only way to Soar!
They always do!
Even the long trips go by quickly!
But why?! LOL!! They are so fun!
Andi was way ahead of me otherwise we would have, I couldn’t flag her down
love it, but it's a nostalgia thing for me.
It is a WDW favorite for many!
I MUST try these. I never did on my last trip and I even stayed there!
Go and get these next time, the nachos are so yummy!
UGH again. I don't know WHY Orlando is such a cluster most of the time.
I agree, not sure why it is always a mess
Yeah. I saw that as a trend in your trip.
I think the AP previews brought many locals and everywhere just felt so crowded! Still a fun trip and wouldn’t trade it for anything!

I fell woefully behind but caught back up for the end. It was so great to see you again this trip and spend some time with you and And! I agree this August seemed much hotter and more crowded than years past. I guess there really is no slow time anymore but we're skipping the summer again this year for hopefully some cooler November temps.

Can't wait to hear about your January trip.
I’m glad you are felling better!
I think the AP preview brought more crowds and the heat was really oppressive at times!
When are you going in November? We are thinking about November this year for Andi’s 21st Birthday! She wants to have her first “legal” drink at Epcot!

I’m sorry you all can’t take advantage, I suppose with customs and all it makes it not available.
Maybe? I'm not really sure.
So true! We have had some great skippers in the past and makes such a difference
::yes::
Creepy:laughing: looked a little like Hilary C. Changed to Donald:hyper:
:lmao:
Put Captain Cooks on your list, really good! Dole whips are a plus as well!
Will do!
:thanks: So much for following along and commenting. Very nice!

Thank you Alexis for Commenting and joining in on my reports, I enjoy conversing with you. Guess what? The weather looks great next week, hopefully warmer than last January!

I am so glad it will be warmer than last year! And hopefully no crazy rain storms either! I hope you have a wonderful time :bounce:

Almost missed the end!!!!

Those pulled pork nachos look fabulous......and what lovely pictures of you both beside the pumpkins.....

Yes, the dole whip mix did look a little odd!

But, what a fabulous report….I have loved reading it and seeing Disney through your eyes...….I always enjoy seeing the way you and Andi spend your days....so much fun.....look forward to your next one Caroline......Thanks for a wonderful read :wave2:

21!!!!!! I can't believe she is going to be that old but what a great place to spend it.

We're going the first week in November. Casey has a few days off of school and Jason is going to do the wine and dine races

Thanks so much Carole, I do enjoy sharing our trips, the god and bad!
We leave on 1/14, so coming up soon, yay!
Wish us luck getting out of the tundra! The weather looks fantastic in Orlando so fingers crossed 🤞 it stays this way!

It is hard to believe my baby girl 👧 will be 21! Time flies, I try to slow it down, just can’t.
We would be going down during Thanksgiving week if we go, I know gluttons for punishment :hyper:

Sounds like a great end to your trip! I'm glad you had a good dinner at La Hacienda, our first meal there was great and then second time was a little meh. Have a good time on your trip back!
It really was a nice last day and dinner was great at La Hacienda the night before, yum!
:thanks: The weather is looking great for next week, yay!

It is time to talk about our next adventure! It is only 3 days away. :mickeyjum :cheer2:
We leave bright and early on 1/14 and if all goes well, we will be seeing the blue skies of Orlando by noon!!

A few trip highlights:
1. We are staying at two new to us resorts! OKW and Gran Destino! Very excited to check out both of these.
2. HEA dessert party, we get to sit down during the fireworks, yay! This is super exciting.
3. MK After Hours! We will see several Dis friends here
4. More Dis meets with some of the Epic trip friends, yay!
5. Hoping to ride RotR, I have boarding group secrets to try and I hope it works for us.
6. A new dining experience at Topolino’s with the cutest characters ever!
7. Soak up the beautiful weather and relax in the afternoons
8. Eat and drink at Nomads lounge
9. Try the drawing class at Rafiki’s planet watch
10. Making a trip to Character Warehouse for more Disney merch.

I will take many pictures and notes to share with everyone when I return.

See ya all real soon!!

Your plans sound perfect! I can't wait to hear all about your adventures when you return! :)

Goodbye MK, when I left off we were saying goodbye to MK until next time. Thank goodness next time is 14 days away from today.pixiedust:
Andi and I boarded the trusty and smelly monorail after leaving MK. We were heading to the Poly for a wonderful lunch and treat. Here is happy Andi with her treats, thanks mom!

We headed to Captain Cooks for lunch. The place was not very busy which was a big plus. I got in line and Andi went to a table. I ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos and Andi wanted the Pan Asian noodles and vegetables. This QS was organized today and I got the buzzer and headed to the table. This QS uses a buzzer to bring your food out to you. This is a plus because you can sit and be served instead of standing forever in a long line.
The Nachos were glorious as usual, I love these and have to get these every trip!

Andi enjoyed her noodles, way to much for her but I am not giving up my delicious nachos to share another vegetarian dish, no way!

After the satisfying lunch, we wondered around the lobby and gift shop.

It was time to have the last dole whip of the trip.
Pineapple Lanai had raspberry, vanilla, and traditional dole whip. We both had a combination of each. I chose raspberry and vanilla and Andi chose raspberry and pineapple. It is weird looking because they can’t swirl the flavors, :confused3 they have to plop it on top of each other.

These tasted very good, we just chilled in the lobby and ate the gluten free, dairy free fake ice cream, which is delicious!
Soon it was time to get back to the GF, we took the monorail over. We gathered up our carry on bags from bell service and waited for the DME, boo! Goodbye Grand!

Our ride was uneventful, however the airport was packed! I was glad we had TSA precheck. The security screening without it was taking 40-50 minutes, yikes!
We looked around for a little while then settled in for our flight. We usually always fly Delta if the price is right and we did fly Delta this trip. Our flight back home was uneventful yay!
That is it, just like that it is over, another trip in the books!
Some observations from this trip
1. Way more crowded than the past August trips we have done.
2. YC was our favorite resort this trip, mainly because it is updated and we had a great room.
3. Wait times for everything were a lot to handle this trip, like resort check in, rides, guest services, merchandise shops, QS places, transportation, and picture opportunities.
4. MK was so crowded with some not so nice guests and MNSSHP was way to crowded to really enjoy like we use to.
5. Dis meets were plentiful and awesome
6. GE preview was very cool, being a little under the weather did damper this.
7. Majority of the vegetarian food choices I tried were good, best QS is Satuli, worst was Gasparilla Grill. Best table service was Via Napoli and Ale & Compass for food, La Hacienda for service.
8. 2 awesome tours which I highly recommend, The Rhino tour and UnDiscovered Nations in WS.
9. It was hot hot hot and hot need I say more. Andi and I really like the heat so it doesn’t make us to miserable,
10. The CM’s for the most part are just awesome and wonderful! I do see more trash in the parks each trip now and this makes me sad. All in all I absolutely love WDW and will continue to go on trips as long as I am able! I have so many beautiful and wonderful memories of our WDW trips, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I love hearing from everyone and it does really make my day, especially in this cold winter tundra!
I plan to give a quick update about the January trip on here so stay tuned for that! :wave2:
So happy to follow along! It is snowing again next door in Wisconsin. It has been a very unusual winter... Have a great time getting away on the 14th. I hope you can sneak out in between snowstorms!

:tigger:
