Everything You Need to Know about Redeeming Airmiles for Disney World & Land & Universal Tickets

I just ordered the 3 day Disneyland ticket. Going In November, before a Panama Canal cruise. Only Need 2 days but I figure the Canadian discount is going to be cheaper than getting a personal shopper to get the 2 days I Need. Also may be able to sneak in an hour or 2 on a third day.

Have not been to DisneyLand in 15 years so I am sure lots of changes.

Does anyone know if the Canadian resident passes on the airmile site usually sell out before the last day Feb 7??? I’m short some miles on the last pass. Thankfully it’s blue Friday and I should get there but I didn’t want to wait until the last minute if they will be gone.

They don't "usually" sell out before the Canadian offer end date. Airmiles usually has some available after the promo is over until they are used up. Unfortunately you can't count on that so get them as soon as you can.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I had never heard of blue Friday before and it turns out the Sobey's near me has one tomorrow. I can get enough points to pay for my flight home from Orlando in April, as I am almost there now. Very cool! :genie::thanks::thanks::thanks:

I wanted to share the experience I just had trying to upgrade my tickets. I have the Canadian discount 7 day tickets from airmiles. Someone in the facebook airmiles for disney group said they had some luck upgrading by calling ticketing direct at 407-566-4985. So I thought I'd give it a try. I wanted to upgrade to park hopper plus, as we want some water park time while we are there. Looking at the prices on teh disney ticket page, it should have been about $80/person to upgrade if keeping the discount.

She found my tickets on MDE, and worked through it, and quoted me $135/person to do the upgrade. Do-able, but more than I thought. However less than just going to a non-discounted park hopper ticket (that would have been about $200/person). She said the reason it was more than the $80 was because Airmiles gets an additional discount on the passes (bulk buy, I'd guess), and to upgrade I would lose that discount.

So just to show, it is possible, at least until Feb 7, to upgrade the discounted Airmiles tickets, but it will cost somewhere between the normal upgrade and the losing the full discount.

I didn't do the upgrade at the time, but I may call back - it's still the same as doing 2 separate water park days, and we're going in August, so that might not be a bad idea....I may also inquire if they can check them from Flex to set date, to see if that brings down the cost difference.

Follow up to my last post. Called again this morning with the same question, was going to either suck up the difference or ask if we could convert to fixed date tickets. Cast member put me on hold, then came back saying we would have to do it in the parks. I explained we would be there after the Canadian discount ended, so this would likely cost us a lot. She said she'd check to see if there was any other way, and put me back on hold. She came back saying they had figured out how to do it, and upgraded our 4 tickets to hopper plus for $340US - the difference between regular and hopper plus! And they are still the flex tickets, and I see them clearly there in MDE :)

I'm hoping to purchase some Universal Orlando tickets through Air Miles this summer for our trip at the end of August. I saw that the new promo on the Universal site is: buy 2 days and get 2 days free for 2 parks with an option to pay $40 more for Volcano Bay. Does anyone remember from last year if Air Miles offered options for both 2 parks and 3 parks? I'm not sure if I would be able to upgrade from 2 to 3 parks once I get there because the offer is only valid for purchase until August 13 and we will be there the last week of August.

The tickets that show up on the Airmiles website typically have been exactly what's showing as available directly from Universal. The date they are valid will be due to the new stipulation that Universal has added to their tickets - they expire within a certain # of days after purchase, that says to me the AM bought them several months ago and is trying to clear their stock out before they order new ones. They will show up *eventually* it depends on how long you're willing to wait!

You can also submit a request for these tickets thru a personal shopper if you're an ONYX member

Thank you Jacqueline. I don't mind waiting until July to get the tickets. I'm just hoping that the 3 park option will be available through Airmiles. I can get 1 ticket on my account through the personal shopper, but I was going to get 2 from DH's account and that one didn't reach ONYX status. My original thought was that even if they only have the two day option I could upgrade at the park, but if the promotion deadline has passed by the time we get to the parks, I'm worried that I won't be able to upgrade at $40 each. I guess I will have to wait and see.

I am hoping for the exact same tickets as you, and going pretty much the same time, it sounds like! I really hope the 3 park park-to-park option shows up on the AM site, I have my AM ready to go, I have refreshed the rewards page about 500 times since universal announced the new deal :)

I am completely guilty of constantly refreshing. I am definitely a planner, hence why I love these boards. Found so much info in the Universal threads too. Happy planning.:)

QUestion:
Can you use AM to buy special event tickets? Wondering if I can use for MNSSHP?

TIA

We are cruising Aug 15-22 on DCL Fantasy for our 20th anniversary and I was hoping attending a MNSSHP party on Sunday Aug 23 but they won't have a party that night. :( That means I can only attend the first party on Aug 13 if I want to go (kids go back to school on Aug 27th so the Aug 25 is too late). I read that the first party is always super busy and not recommended and I was planning on going to Universal Studios/IoA before our cruise since our friend has free tickets us. Now I don't know what to do!!!!

I'm hoping that someone here knows the answer to my question.
I purchased through Air Miles personal shopper one Universal Orlando 3-Park Seasonal Annual Pass for my trip this August. Does anyone know if there is a use before date? If unfortunately the trip this summer does not happen, I'm wondering if I can save it for next year. I have checked my receipt by email ( no actual ticket was sent by mail) and there is no mention of an expiry date.

I am thinking of returning my AM DisneyLand tickets I got. I see they need to be returned by March 31 , but no where on the AirMiles website do I see an address where they are to be returned to, does anyone have it?

@mkmommy, this was at the bottom of the Covid-19 page on the Airmiles site. It's at the very bottom of the page. You might have thought it related to Sports tickets but I think it probably relates to all returns. Just note a trackable package via Canada Post will set you back $10. I would take photocopies of the front and the back of anything you are sending back.

How should I return certificates and tickets that are eligible for a refund?
Send your eligible certificates and tickets via trackable mail to AIR MILES® Reward Program

Upon inspection/validation, the Miles will be refunded back to your Collector Account within 30 business days.

It's feeling more and more like our August trip will push out a year. I have Airmiles Cdn discount tickets, linked to MDE and upgraded to PH+ on the phone with Disney. I have no idea what is going to happen with these tickets, and if I'll be able to do anything at all with them to allow us to book FP next year! It's crappy enough that we're likely to push out a year, not being able to get our FP will suck.
