Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Shopping and Merchandise: Savi’s, Droid Depot and More!

Thank you for the update! I've read differing reports on whether they are going to restock the new legacy sabers or not. Hopefully they do, and good luck on your next foray.

What sort of things have you read? Do you mean what their ETA might be or whether or not they plan to restock at all?

I've read online that the Ben and Reforged Skywalker sabers are considered limited editions, and they don't plan to restock, other sites are saying they are just joining the line up and should be restocked as normal. I've not seen a report on that here on Dis, so I'm not sure who's right or wrong, or if they even know. If you go back in 2 weeks, you might ask, and at least we'd have the info from Batuu itself. And we can ask here;

Anyone know for sure if the Ben Solo and Reforged Skywalker sabers will be restocked?

For Droid Depot and Savi’s, if I grab a reservation for 3 and we decide closer only 2 are doing it, can I modify the reservation to 2? Or will it make me cancel and try to grab it again?

Has anyone tried to give their droids mismatched legs or sphere halves? I want to make an R unit with one red leg and one black one, but if I untape a set and head over to the build station, will a CM send me back?

You can't untape the legs. Maybe grab 2 pairs and ask the cm if it's possible to use one of each

Build a Droid and Epcot Security

i wanted to share my experience from yesterday to prepare others.

We had a great time building two droids, one R2 and one BB8 style. My son was doing the BB8 style, and we had a great cast member assisting us, explaining everything well, but even she had trouble joining the two half-shell body parts together. We lined up arrows, etc, but it was hard and stiff, but we did it and droid looked great when done.

We then decided to leave DHS and go to Epcot for fish n chips for lunch. After a nice boat ride, we arrived at epcot security, my husband took the R2 version through one line, and I (mum) was carrying my sons BB8 version through the adjoining line with another guard. R2 version got through no issues, just opened box looked at, sent through. My security guard opened box and said i had to take BB8 version apart to show center of the body part. Sigh. Well I couldn’t open it, it was too stuck tight together. She tried, she couldn’t do it either. Another guard came over and he tried. But then we both worked together, me holding base, him turning top and we got it open. Then we put it back together, badly. Droid no longer working. Son very upset.

The experience was very stressful, as I was worried our new droid was going to break. The fish n chips weren’t worth it, by the way, too much batter.

once home we fixed it. Takes two people, one holding base, other twisting top, to take it apart. Made sure the center bit aligned correctly, and then Put body back together, using two people method. Note: we are hoping over time putting it back together gets easier as hopefully it will become less stiff (tight).

i tell my story to warn other parents, had my son been carrying the droid, there is no way he could have got it apart for security, and if both parents through the security gates you can’t help. I don’t know if I was unlucky, or if all BB8 styles have to be taken apart at park entry security.

As of 10am this Sunday, Dok Ondar's was sold out of the Ben Solo, Rey and the Reforged lightsabers. Red Kyber crystals were still available upon request but not in a capsule. They said stock was running low. Also found out the Sabacc Decks were currently sold out.

Glad I made a trip earlier in the week to pick up the Reforged saber. Decided to pick up an extra red Kyber this trip. Didn't realize they came in different shapes and therefore provided different voices for the holocrons. I assumed each color only provided one particular voice over.

I forgot to ask, but I am pretty sure the Reforged was out of stock a few weeks ago. Since I was able to pick one up this week I would assume they still have shipments coming in.

They use RFID, it is not based on shape. They can be reprogrammed with the right equipment.

That makes sense but that is what the CM I spoke to told me. She also said there are several different voice overs for each color (possibly up to 7 for red). I can't imagine they would have 7 different shapes.

I was watching some of the droid build videos. On one video the family said that the day they went to WDW droid depot they were out of the black R2 body style. Anyone have any experience with the depot running out of certain colors? I'm guessing (obviously) that black is popular and I'm wondering if other colors run out as well.

Question folks for the lightsabers, similar to one a couple weeks back I asked. When I was leaving via Orlando airport, I saw someone had their lightsaber in its sheath sticking out of his backpack (which I think was his personal item as he had a carry on rolling bag too). I however got further ahead so never did see if it worked, but I'm curious if anyone has an idea if this would work? I know from previous the lightsaber would be considered your carry-on, but typically I need my carry-on with me so I was wondering if I could stick it in my backpack I'd bring and then once the overhead has been full I can put it up there or sidle it alongside my seat perhaps. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts now that possibly more lightsabers have been taken on planes :P

I highly doubt they'd allow you to put it alongside your seat. Stuff has to be in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

Yes, I'm aware. However I recall reading someone had once put it alongside their seat against the wall of the plane. So not in the aisle, but under the seat along the wall (given it's fairly long, obviously doesn't end up all under the seat). I'm not saying I'd do that since still no guarantee it would be allowed, more likely would wait until everyone else has put their stuff in the overhead and then put mine (to hopefully avoid anyone else damaging mine by shoving their bag on top of the sabre for example).

Red has a lot, I too thought each color only had one voice until I got one. A quick Google search confirmed otherwise, and I have since reprogrammed all of mine to the voices I wanted. I’d rather do that than play blind-box shenanigans.

This happened when the lands first opened, but I am not aware of it happening recently.

I've also read reports of people putting the lightsaber along the wall beside their seat. Also have read reports of people doing what you were asking about without issue re: putting the saber in a backpack and taking it out to stow it on the plane. Both sound like one of those things you can probably do most of the time, but it's going to be up to the gate agent and the flight attendants whether they let you since it's not technically within the rules. Lightsaber transport has been on my mind as well, and my personal conclusion on the whole thing is that I'm going to assume it counts as a personal item by itself and has to go in the overhead bin for the sake of planning around it. Seriously considering just shipping the thing, tbh, so I don't have to deal with it.

That's the solution I've landed on. Folks have reported $18 to ship from DHS. Seems worth it at this point.
