You’re Not Allowed to Stupefy Your Mother! A UOR May 2019 TR *COMPLETE* 1/17 x2

Was happy to read your bag was still in the stall

Bet you had a pounding heart rushing to go back for it!

Happy endings are the best!!

Oh man, does it. And I hate getting trapped in a bunch of people who are standing on the moving walkway and blocking me from moving any faster!!!

ugh EVERY time!

Once we had it printed, the TM suggested getting Spider-Man to sign it too, so DS was super excited about his souvenirs!

Awesome idea! He looks so happy!

DH and I used that time to check out the Southwest flights, which had just dropped for our planned December trip back to Universal before our passes expired, and were able to book our flights for only $44 after using DH’s Southwest points!

Wow- great deal.

It was really fun to book our return trip while on the last day of a trip.

Definitely takes away some of the sting of leaving to know you have another trip coming.

I realized I had left it in the stall! I ran back to get it, and thankfully it was still there, but after all that running in the heat I felt pretty freaking awful!

Oh noo :scared: Glad it was still there but that must've been a stressful time.

But we poked around a bit on the Wyndham site and saw we actually had enough points for another night, so we were able to add Thursday night to our plans!

Woo! Awesome!

That was a really neat idea, getting the hat signed by Spider-Man, since it was already a favorite!

Oh gosh, I can't imagine the stress that must have ensued when you realized you'd forgotten the bag in the bathroom. Thank goodness it was still there.

It always eases the blow of finishing a vacation when you can already plan for the next one.

The Raptor Encounter was open by then, so we decided to go get in line for that. We finally got to meet Blue!
That really looks awesome! L would love that!
After that, we walked over to Revenge of the Mummy, trying to convince DS to go ahead and ride so we could all ride together, but he refused. DH and I were trying to figure out if we could go through the single rider line and still do a rider swap, so I’m guessing we looked a little confused. One of the Universal VIP tour guides approached us and asked if we needed help with something, and I REALLY wish I would have gotten her name! When we said what we were trying to figure out, she said, “Do you want me to just bring you up there?” We happily said yes, and she backdoored us into the ride!
Wow! That's incredible. What a lucky break!
When we were at the counter adding our ride photo, I pointed out to DS one of the display photos with Frank the Pug in it, and joked we should ride with him next time so we could get him in our photo. The TM was listening, and said, “How about I put him in your picture
:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
e ended up at The Burger Digs and we all got kids burgers. They are the same size as the regular burgers but not as expensive. It might come with a little less fries, but it's definitely enough for us to eat.
Hmmm... nice tip! :thumbsup2
That ended up being our last ride of the day, as we grabbed our last Icee for the day and then got a spot to wait for Cinematic Celebration to begin.
That really looks like a neat show!
Next, we stopped at Camp Jurassic so DS could play for a little bit. DH and I used that time to check out the Southwest flights, which had just dropped for our planned December trip back to Universal before our passes expired, and were able to book our flights for only $44 after using DH’s Southwest points! It was really fun to book our return trip while on the last day of a trip.
Good deal! I mean $44 for a flight is fantastic, and it does help with the last day blues to actively be working toward your return trip in a few months.

Really enjoyed reading about your trip. I have one, what may be a silly question, the AP 'ICEE" cup.. where did you purchase this? Are they sold at the carts with the regular freestyle cups?

Worked out nicely that you could ride the Hulk while the boys did Spiderman and then swapped with DH!

Glad DS finally got to meet Spiderman and got his hat signed- very cool!

Great family photos!!

Sounds like a really great morning/afternoon! And a productive time planning your Dec trip (which I can't wait to hear about)!

It's nice going with DS that there isn't too much we need to swap on, but it's even better that their attractions are fairly easy to take turns on too.

It was a great interaction with one of his favorite superheroes. Getting his hat signed was very exciting for him

Was happy to read your bag was still in the stall

Bet you had a pounding heart rushing to go back for it!

Happy endings are the best!!

Yes, my stomach was in knots!! I would have felt terrible if I had been responsible for losing it for him.

Awesome idea! He looks so happy!

He was! It was a memorable moment of this trip, for sure.

Definitely takes away some of the sting of leaving to know you have another trip coming.

It really really does. I think that's why I had such a hard time with our December trip. I was sad before it even started because I knew we wouldn't be back for a long time after it was over!

Oh noo :scared: Glad it was still there but that must've been a stressful time.

It really was. I felt sick to my stomach running back to that bathroom!

Yep, it made his favorite hat even more special to have it signed!

I was beyond relieved when I got back to the bathroom, remembered which stall, and found it where I had left it. I was so worried someone may have removed it to turn in to a TM or something and that it would be a huge process to get it back.

Definitely! That made it so tough to go home after our December trip and knowing it will be awhile before we are back.

That really looks awesome! L would love that!

He definitely would! It's so fun, especially for little dinosaur loving boys!

Wow! That's incredible. What a lucky break!

Yes, I was soooo relieved!!

That really looks like a neat show!

Universal did a great job with this one. It's very impressive, especially considering they can't do a huge fireworks spectacular like Disney does because of their proximity to residents. They did a great job weaving in some of their biggest IPs.

Good deal! I mean $44 for a flight is fantastic, and it does help with the last day blues to actively be working toward your return trip in a few months.

It's always great to have a return trip in mind already when you're finishing up a trip. And only having to pay taxes and fees on our flights was an even bigger bonus!!

Really enjoyed reading about your trip. I have one, what may be a silly question, the AP 'ICEE" cup.. where did you purchase this? Are they sold at the carts with the regular freestyle cups?

Thanks so much!

Not a silly question at all! When we went a couple of years ago, the AP cups were available at some of the kiosks and locations where you can buy the regular Freestyle refillable mugs. I don't know if the AP ones in particular are still available, and at the time, they weren't available at every single location. We got ours at the drink/snack kiosk outside of Monsters Cafe in Studios.

Day 6 Continued: Thursday May 30th

Around 3:30 pm, we were ready to head back to the parks, this time to Studios because we wanted to end our evening with Cinematic Celebration. Our first stop was to go back to The Darkroom photo studio for some more silly photos.

We ended up getting one of our photos with Optimus Prime printed as our free 5x7 right there at the counter in The Darkroom.

One of the photo ops we wanted to do was over at the E.T. gift shop, so we went there next. We had to stop for an Icee along the way!

Of course, every time we had passed through there earlier in the trip, the photographers were begging people to take their pictures, but when we went there just for that, we had to wait! Oh well, it turned out to be really fun. We each got a photo on the bike, and then took a family photo in the toy closet with E.T.

DH snuck his own selfie with E.T.

When we finished up with our photos, we hopped in line for the ride which said 20 minutes, but we basically walked right on.

DS was starting to get hungry, so we grabbed another Icee on the way over to Springfield for dinner.

We still had 2 QS credits left, so DH decided to use it on the seafood platter since it’s $18 and he’s always wanted to try it but didn’t want to pay that much for one meal. It was a great use of a credit. DS and I both went with Krusty Burgers.

While eating, I went on the Universal app and set up virtual line passes for both Jimmy Fallon and Fast & Furious Supercharged to use after dinner. We headed over to F&F first, and along the way, the fountains in the lagoon that they use for Cinematic Celebration were dancing to some music, like the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas.

After watching that for a few minutes, we continued on to F&F.

By the time we finished with that ride, we could use our virtual line pass at Jimmy Fallon, so we made our way towards that.

We walked right on in and straight to the loading room without having to wait in either of the waiting areas.

After the ride, we grabbed a cinnamon pretzel with chocolate sauce with another snack credit, and got another Icee refill. We grabbed a seat on the fake grass in front of the big stage where they have concerts for Mardi Gras to relax and enjoy our snack.

While snacking, I was scrolling through the wait times on the app, and Escape From Gringotts was listed at only 30 minutes, which we decided was tolerable for that ride, so we decided to head there next.

Unfortunately, by the time we got over there, it was posted at 45 minutes, which was not something we were willing to do. So instead, we went over and got into the next show at Ollivander’s.

Continued in next post...

Day 6 Continued: Thursday May 30th

Wouldn’t you know it, DS got picked for the wand ceremony AGAIN!

It was all fun & games until we told DS that no, we were not buying him ANOTHER wand. He didn’t like that answer at all, even though we tried explaining that he has literally $150 worth of interactive wands on display in his room! Even though we had told him the last time he’d gotten picked and we bought the wand that if he ever got chosen again we were not buying it, I think he thought that if it actually happened we would give in a buy it, but it wasn’t happening this time.

To try to battle the tears, we headed over to Florian Fortescue’s and used our last snack credit to get a Butterbeer ice cream to share.

DS calmed down, and we checked the wait time again for Gringotts, but it was still too long for us so we decided to head out of Diagon Alley. Transformers only had a 5 minute wait so we decided to do that instead.

We saw Megatron was out meeting when we exited the ride, but his line was already closed so we weren’t able to get a photo with him, just of him.

We wanted to wait for the next set for Bumblebee, but the wind was kind of high so that delayed him coming out for a little while. Eventually we decided to just move on since it didn’t seem like he’d be able to come out.

Instead, we decided to go for another ride on Men In Black. It was posted at 20 minutes, but we walked on in less than 10.

Then we decided it would have to be our last ride of the trip, as it was time to go over and find a spot to watch Cinematic Celebration one more time. DH grabbed us one last Icee refill to enjoy while we waited for the show to start.

As we exited the park one last time for this trip, I mentioned to DS how next time we came back we’d have DD with us. I don’t know if it was just exhaustion or what but he lost it and dissolved into tears because he didn’t like the idea that this would be our last trip here just the three of us. We reassured him that we would still have a great time even though we’d have a bigger group next trip, but I think he was just really tired after a week of go-go-going in the heat for long days.

We headed back to the resort to finish up as much packing as we could get done so we could hit the road early in the morning. We had a long drive (thankfully uneventful) drive home!

I didn’t sleep well on our last night there for some reason, so DH caught this photo of me which is I’m pretty sure how I looked for 90% of the drive home.

Thanks so much for following along!! I have one more Universal trip to share (that I'll post the link for shortly), and soon enough we will finally return to our first love, WDW!

Love the pics, especially the ET ones!!

Sounds like a fun final evening!

Aww I guess DS really enjoyed his alone time trips with you guys!

Hopping over to December's now!

The Universal photos are great!!! Did you have buy them or do they have something similar to Disney photo pass? I love the one with Bumblebee, do they have him as a character or did they just add that to the background??

Oh no. Universal marketing knows how to get you on that one for sure!

Aww.

Thanks for another great report! Hopping to the new one now!

The ET pictures were so fun! We had a blast taking those and the Darkroom ones,

He really really did. I'm so thankful we were able to spend that kind of time with him!

The Universal photos are great!!! Did you have buy them or do they have something similar to Disney photo pass? I love the one with Bumblebee, do they have him as a character or did they just add that to the background??

It's the My Universal Photos package! We got it for free for being chosen as Family of the Day earlier in the trip, and all of the photo locations and ride photos are included!

The picture in this update was just a green screen where they added in Bumblebee behind us at the Darkroom photo studio. The backgrounds there change out from what we have seen, because it was all holiday backgrounds when we went last month, But Bumblebee is a character you can meet and get a photo with! Outside the Transformers attraction is a dedicated meet and greet space where you can see Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Megatron!

This is from our trip in 2018,

They were so fun to take!! We loved that part of having the photo package

I hate when this happens.

Me too, that's the bad thing about those wait times on the app. Everyone sees it and has the same idea!

Yes, the parents are the ones really suffering here lol. Thankfully he got over it!

Thanks for another great report! Hopping to the new one now!

This is usually what is going on in the passenger seat on our road trips too.

As always, I enjoyed reading about your trip! Looking forward to reading about the next one and seeing if the addition of his little sister ruined his trip!

Yes, this is definitely the most frustrating part of having to rely on the app for wait times to try to get on popular stuff. You have to be lucky and catch it right when the wait time goes down and before everyone else notices it!

Somehow, I knew this was going to happen when you said he got picked again.

As soon as we walked in, I realized I should have warned him that we wouldn't be buying another wand, but it was too late, they had already picked him.

This is usually what is going on in the passenger seat on our road trips too.
