On the Floor and Out the Door!: a 17 day HalloChristmas, RunDisney, MNSSHP, HHN, MVMCP adventure! new 2/8!

I like pumpkin pie, but I'm one of the few people who don't fall prey to the PSL craze. I tried it once cold and once hot, and it wasn't my cup of tea. :confused3 Glad to hear this treat wasn't overpowering with the pumpkin.

Glad to hear I'm not alone! The milkshake only really had a hint of pumpkin so I enjoyed it.

It's so fun when the characters really embrace their personalities.

Yes 100% agreed!

Oh boy! I can't believe Tigger legitimately hid your candy! Glad that kid helped you rescue your bags!

Me neither!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

It drives me crazy when people try to squeeze into spots that are clearly too small for their group. Wishing the spot was available doesn't make it possible...That's definitely one of the most stressful parts of waiting for a parade, though. When another person leaves and your left guarding their spot. It's a lot of pressure!

It is a lot of pressure! I honestly didn't think it would be that difficult this time since the spot was really not big at all and the backpacks were clearly holding it but that didn't seem to matter to anyone!

… you're not the only person not obsessed with all things pumpkin-spice.

There's a surprising number of us here!

Well that makes sense. If you're going to learn, might as well learn from the master.

Exactly!

You got felt up quite a bit, this trip! You should have free passes for life!

Man you're right! #missedopportunity

Wow! I know they just forgot, but... man that was a close one!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I couldn't believe how well they hid our bags!

I don't care for those. Really just static shots with a not so great frame.
I could do much better.

Me neither. They have so much technology that I was sad that's what they came up with.

I'm with Mike. I only like sour cream on baked potatoes... and even then, not always.

:oops::oops::oops:

:sad2: Entitled much?
I loathe people who complain that they don't have something just because someone else does.

I'm with you. Especially when it was beyond clear that I was holding the spot and that if you stood behind me that... well...I would be in front of you #logic

How did you survive!?!?

It was rough but someone had to do it!

Nope I'm not! I really don't like pumpkin! I think this float looks good but figured I wouldn't like it at all; maybe if the taste isn't overpoweringly pumpkin I'd be ok?

I didn't think I'd like it at all but Mike likes pumpkin things so he picked it and I was surprised that I liked it. It was really only a hint of pumpkin so I think you'd be ok! I think Mike was sad that I decided I liked it and he had to share so much of it. :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: OMG this is better than the last one I think!!!!

I think so too :rotfl::rotfl:

We usually don't stake spots out for any parade more than maybe 20 minutes ahead of time including Boo to You and rarely watch any parade on Main St. But last month I wanted to watch the Xmas parade from Main St so we got a good spot 45 minutes early and I cannot tell you how many people tried not only getting in our space (I was directly behind a garbage pail and Steve was next to me) but shoving this nice family sitting on the curb to our right out of their seats! They were there before us, dad was against the side of the garbage pail and then the 2 kids and mom were next to him. At one point the boys were dancing in the street and 2 people who had been wandering around nearby tried sitting in between the parents :confused3 About 10 minutes before the parade Steve decided he needed to pee so I held my arms out like I was pretending to be an airplane so nobody could crowd into his spot lol

Ugh people are the worst sometimes. I get that we all want a good spot but what happened to common sense and just being a normal person?! Something very similar happened when we were waiting for the parade at MVMCP. A lady was sitting against a garbage pail with her legs holding a seat for her granddaughter and my sister and I were standing behind her. A family came up onto the curb and the woman tried to stand literally over the woman's legs! I'm not sure what makes people think these are things to do!

This looks and sounds amazing!!!! I'm not a huge pumpkin fan but I'd never turn down a cold milkshake on a warm day

Me neither but this was just a hint of pumpkin so it was perfect!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: And to a family member do less!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Great picture! The wait was well worth it

Thank you!

That is crazyI I just figured he'd put them off to the side somewhere. Guess he was really feeling his pirate costume.

It was crazy lol. I couldn't believe they were so well hidden.

Of course they did, because don't you know they paid a lot of money to be there and their parade viewing location is of much more importance than Mikes

Ugh seriously. How silly of me to forget!

Wow, you managed to meet Jack and Sally, the Seven Dwarves, AND the Pooh gang in their costumes?! I'm impressed!

Thank you! We were happy with the number of characters we were able to meet that night!

That interaction with Tigger is hilarious! (But I'm glad that little boy helped you retrieve your candy!)

Me too lol! I couldn't believe that we really couldn't find it.

People and their parade behavior are ridiculous. I'm glad you were able to hold your spots!

They really are. I just don't get it!

Boo To You

Finally, it was parade time which meant the Headless Horseman was coming.

The parade control CM came to stand on the other side of Mike and block people from trying to stand on the stairs. He started talking to Mike and said that since we were sitting in the perfect spot, we should do parade control also. Mike said ok and he handed over his light stick. :rotfl:

He took it back before the parade came which I deemed a wise decision.

Then it was time for my absolute favorite parade!

Peter and the Lost Boys were playful and hysterical!

The Gravediggers are one of my favorite parts!

The Haunted Mansion bride was a new addition to the parade this year and it was perfect.

This part makes me laugh because they look ridiculous dancing but I love Splash and the Country Bears so it makes me happy.

https://youtu.be/m82FslnFg6I
The Incredibles and Toy Story additions were new also and they were cute but not particularly Halloween themed.

The villains are my other favorite part of the parade.

After the parade ended, we fought through a sea of humanity in Frontierland to get to the Enchanted Tiki Room. We were hoping to find Moana with a short wait since a lot of people would still be in spots for the parade. We were basically swimming upstream in the crowd though and it was a little frightening. Mike and I lost each other for a minute there and I really felt bad for the people with little kids.

We got to the Tiki Room and I asked the CM how long the line was right now and was thrilled when she said "uhhh about 5 minutes!" We walked in and there were only 2 families waiting!

After Moana, we cut through the breezeway into Liberty Square because I really wanted to try to meet the gravediggers. I wasn't sure if they'd be back yet because of the parade but they were and with only 1 family ahead of us.

They were intrigued by my honey pot bag so I offered them some.

They asked if it really had honey in it and I said "ummm there's an iphone in it ?":rotfl::rotfl:

They were displeased.

I found them very intimidating:scared:

Mike apparently did not lol.

After our meet, we made our way to Main Street. We were trying to find friends of ours waiting for fireworks on Main Street, so basically like finding a needle in a haystack.

Next up: do we find them? And the new MNSSHP fireworks

Love it!

Mine too....just so well done!

Awesome! What a brilliant strategy to watch from Fronteirland, then take advantage of the short wait times for M&G's!

They do look incredible! Definitely a bit intimidating with the severe expressions and ghoulish makeup.

Can't wait to hear about the fireworks!

There's a surprising number of us here!
I noticed that!
Pat Morita: "You are getting sleepy."
Ralph Macchio: "Stop waving your hands in my face."
Pat Morita: <Kicks Ralph's butt into the next county.>
Man you're right! #missedopportunity
You need me on your next visit.
It was rough but someone had to do it!
Atta girl!

Did that stop people from complaining?

::yes:: Best parade ever!
The Gravediggers are one of my favorite parts!
Yes!
The Haunted Mansion bride was a new addition to the parade this year and it was perfect.
She was great. I wish I'd known, I would've brought the camera just for her.
This part makes me laugh because they look ridiculous dancing but I love Splash and the Country Bears so it makes me happy.

The Incredibles and Toy Story additions were new also and they were cute but not particularly Halloween themed.
Yeah... can we have more Halloween stuff at the Halloween parade???
Mike and I lost each other for a minute there and I really felt bad for the people with little kids.
I wouldn't worry too much. Disney is really good at that sort of thing.
We got to the Tiki Room and I asked the CM how long the line was right now and was thrilled when she said "uhhh about 5 minutes!"
Score!
Perfect roll eyes, Courtney.

:rolleyes2

Wait... they spoke to you????
Mike apparently did not lol.
Atta boy!

I feel like you and Mike have some great stories. I still laugh about the Olaf meet and greet, and the CM giving him the light stick is pretty hilarious too.

Hooray for a short Moana and Gravediggers meet and greets!

The grave diggers are my favorite!!! I wish you could meet them year round. They are amazing! When I did my Princess Half Marathon there were HM cast members on "watching" the run and so I stopped to take a picture with them. I'm sure that's not why they were there but they were awesome and stayed in character the whole time cracking jokes about running and be the last ghost of the 999. I loved it!

Loving all the parade videos. We've only done the party once but the parade was so my favorite part. Those Grave Diggers really make and whole parade. And wow, awesome luck with the characters after the parade! I recall reading someone elses report and I thought they'd waited like an hour for Moana. Perfect plan to get it done as the parade was still going on.

I'm here! And I'm still so jealous how long your trip was!

Oh man what a ride in! I know that feeling of frustration all too well and being the cranky monster funk that you just can't snap out of! (I also did not have a hair brush packed in December lol glad you found yours!)

Love the costumes! Great minds think alike haha we also noticed slow waitresses when it came time to tip the last few trips. Like I want to leave don't you want to turn over your table???

You really timed out the meet and greets well!! I have no patience for those long character lines! Lol

Did NOT know that mobile ordering was an option during MNSSHP at Pecos Bills. I waited in far too long a line for those nachos at the first party!!
