first time practicing from home today since my trip is coming up in less than 2 weeks.
one thing i noticed is the first time you click through, an extra pop-up comes up that tells you more about the boarding group that you have to click OK after you click join and before you select your party. that adds extra latency first time you go through this, so im glad i did this practice run and would suggest everyone to do so. After that, i did get through about 6-7 times.
but every second counts!

i tried a different backup phone today that i have not tried with before, and got the popup again. took a SS.
Definitely not a backup BG thing, but whenever you do this the first time, you will get this and you need to close the popup.

I'm only saying if when you click My Status and join is not clickable, it takes close to a minute if not more of refreshing to get it clickable for me, so in that case, the 15-20 second app restart would be faster. When in the park, you'll never know how fast that button will be available with the refresh method.

Sorry, I thought you were saying not to click it at all if Join Boarding Groups wasnt red. I agree going back and forth doesn’t have a high probability of working Although I have gotten the Join BG button to go red after trying My Status. The 10% if times that clicking My Status didn’t give me a clickable button, Join BG went red after I hit the back button.

I read on Twitter that BGs opened (minutes? seconds?) before 8a this morning. Is that true?

I tried at 7:57 and a few seconds to check that the app was not locked up. I could get to the next screen after “find out more” and that was it. So it wasn’t open to me at that time

Woohoo boarding group 16!!!!! And DH who has the slowest iPhone (iPhone SE) and is the worst at technology in our family was the first to get join boarding group. We all tapped into app at 7:59:55.

Snagged BG14 this morning which was called at 8:17 this morning. We roped dropped tsmm this morning and we were off that by 8:15.

Anyone have insight on whether a smaller group has a better chance at securing BG than a large group? We have 9 in our group on 2 MDE accounts and 4 people with access to that account. We could split it up into 2 groups and have 2 each trying to secure a BG or keep it as one large group with 4 people trying to secure the BG.

i checked at 7:59:30 and Join BG was not red for me so I don’t think it was open that early.

I believe this was true.
One of our live streamers was there this morning, on Sunset and they made the final announcement and shortly after, before 8am I saw a family jumping up and down
BTW my colleague did not get a bg because he forgot to deselect his wife who was not in the park and then he was stuck in the refresh mode (rookie mistake )

Practising from home........my name and husband‘s name were missing when I went to hit select all this morning. There should be four of us listed. I guess just my kids will be virtually riding today. Lol.

Same thing happened to me during my morning practice from home. My son was missing. That has never happened before. I usually get right in and can go through 4-6 times before groups close. Crazy app. I was feeling good about our trip in two weeks.....

I don’t think there’s any reason to believe that having a larger group hurts you. It actually probably helps because you have more people to try.

No, it's all bout how fast you join.. If you have everyone under one MDE it's easy to hit select all and join. If you split you run the risk of not being in the same bg or worse one of you not getting into a bg

Same here. I practise frequently and that’s never happened to me, so it kind of through me for a loop this morning.

I don’t think there’s any reason to believe that having a larger group hurts you. It actually probably helps because you have more people to try.

The only way it could “hurt” you is if you have to take a long time selecting or deselecting from a large F & f list. If it were me I would still have everyone try for everyone together, though, instead of trying to break it up. That way you all get the same BG without having to try to merge if you want to, and it just feels simpler and cleaner to me, less chance of a group member not understanding and picking the wrong people or something. Plus if you try to break it up then everyone has to be selecting a few from a long list, which takes time.
