There's an interesting poll on Touring Plans where it looks like they're trying to get a handle on what percentage of people are successful getting a boarding group. It looks like the vast majority of people are successful. Of course, that's not helpful to people who don't get one but at least it helps us get an idea of the odds. It's also, I'm sure, a little skewed because the most casual park goers aren't going to be on Touring Plans and it's a small sample size. But for anyone who's already made the attempt to get a boarding group, you may want to add in your answer to the poll as well. The larger the sample size, the more accurate I would assume.

It’s really interesting comparing my two experiences last week to pics like the below:

I arrived at the tapstyles one day around 7:35 and the other day around 7:50 (8am openings). Both were easy entry. I didn’t go much past Brown Derby, but conditions in the front of the park during this time are quite pleasant, relatively speaking. Easy to move around, short enough waits at various coffee/snack stands (but not Starbucks), etc.

Unless you really want/need to rope drop SWGE or TSL, you can easily craft a “getting a BG” morning that avoids a lot of this chaos and waiting around, if one so chooses.
This is exactly what I plan on doing (even hotel coffee or a quick Dunkin' run off property) Am at DHS for two days next week (T 3/3 and F 3/5). was lucky enough to get FP+ for SDD, MFSR, TOT, SWST, TSMM over the course of those two days. Only thing I'm dreading is rope drop for MMRR on the Friday day but fortunate enough to have no real need to be in sea of humanity waiting to get into SWGE either of those days.

Where can I find The Chart? There is no link on the second post of this thread.
For some reason on my work computer the chart is not visible on my screen. When I use my phone it is there but is too small to read. Fortunately it works on my laptop at home though.

Any estimate of the success rate for people who entered by park opening? To me that's more important - to get to the park say an hour before opening and having say only a 25% chance of getting a boarding group would be a huge factor in deciding whether to even try.
My best guess is that there are enough people inside HS on any given morning to fill up 120-130 boarding groups. When the ride underperforms and they gradually cut back boarding groups to a point that the total boarding groups is lower than that number, then people miss out, but even so, 90-95% of people in the park would have gotten a group.

As the ride has done consistently better over the last week, total BG's have risen above that number, so there's still BG's to be had 15-30 and even 40 minutes after park opening. This is all speculation, and you'll never know for sure how accurate the info is, but what is known is that if you do want a BG, it's better to be there before park opening than after it opens.

I know lots of people ask this, and I do think the number of people who get *something* doing what they should be right at opening are probably quite high, save for people with major issues like Blistex had.

The answers I want more are the number of people (doing everything right) who missed out riding that day, and those who missed out all together because of being in a back up without auto recovery. That’s what really matters IMO at least. I’m not super concerned about not getting a BG, I’m thinking more about breakdowns having us attempting to get on for hours, or pushing us to another day (or not at all).

The Chart is an embedded image that is hosted on a third party site - in this case, imgur. That may be why it’s not showing up for some if you have some sort of website filter on your device/machine.

Image files get tricky on the DIS when they start to get big. If you do a single actual image/attachment on the page, the quality/legibility goes down drastically. You can break the actual images up into smaller sections, but that’s more annoying for the poster. :-)

Imgur hosting seems (to me) to be a convenient and legible way to see it, at least on my devices (PC, iPad, phone). If people are having wide-spread problems, let me know. It’s my first time playing around with it so still learning how it works.

It’s stuck on 61 but the bottom number keeps going up. 43 right now. Does that mean they are still loading because 42, for example, is now locked out.

No that means the lower number 2 hour return time was up. If a bg is called and the attraction is having tech difficulties you're able to come anytime during the day

You can split it into multiple images and directly put in the post rather than use an outside website to host the image.

Or we can cut out some of those earlier dates too. Really the later dates right now are what matter most for upcoming planning. December 19th won't give you an accurate representation of February 25th.

How about uploading to Google Sheets and making it shareable to all?

I don't follow "The Chart" for the most part so it hasn't been an issue for me, but I do know that my employer blocks many image sites, i.e, Instagram, Photobucket, etc.

It's too small on my phone, but I use 2 fingers to expand the image and I can see everything great.

Well, THAT information just isn't available. What we DO have access to is BG info, or at least most of it. By tracking those numbers, we can get a good feel of how the ride is operating. Good days will present a much lower number of guests not able to ride. Bad days , though, will have higher numbers of guests unable to ride. We can't get the hard data of uncalled BGs or the number of FPs distributed. But watching how BGs progress at benchmark times, like noon, or 2 pm, will give a good indication of how the day will go. I can't really trust the early BG numbers around 10 am, because they could just keep calling them, but if the tip number gets stuck and the bottom shrinks consistently in the morning, it's a good bet it's a little off. It has more time to make it up, but come noon or 2 pm, if it's only at about 8BGs an hour by then, it will be tough to catch up.

I know it’s not available, just saying I think that’s more valuable they what TP is currently polling.

Just like regular vs back up doesn’t really matter, getting a BG vs not doesn’t really matter at the end of the day either (unless GET is doing something for you, I guess). Did you ride after you put in the appropriate effort or not, that’s what I would like to see a mass poll on. The rest is noise, IMO at least.
