MAYBE A MAY TRIP?? 3 WEEKS SAPPHIRE FALLS 2021

Yes this is all so unreal, I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone or something. It seems to just keep getting worse. Sorry to hear that you are probably going to have to cancel May, I was so looking forward to meeting you. However I understand. I have a little time I feel to make my decision. I just don't know what to do at this moment, it is so hard to tell what is going to happen at this point. Hope that you are all well.

We’re doing ok thanks.

Yes, I keep thinking we must reach the peak soon, but it’s not happening.......I’m amazed at the grocery stores mania.....

I heard one woman say they were all hibernating at home so they could be safe......except her husband and son still had to go to work and her daughter would be at school......how she thought that was hibernating I have no idea! Unless you completely lock everyone away, you’re still at risk. She didn’t seem to grasp that as she was walking round the grocery store.......crazy!!

You’ll make your decision when the time is right, or the decision is made for you.....I think it’s easier to deal with when it’s a definite. It’s uncertainty that’s awful.

Yes, I’m sorry we won’t be meeting up. We had a few long planned meets arranged this trip, but.......there’ll be another time I’m sure.......

Keep well........any updates, let us know.......:wave2:

Happy Happy Birthday!

Here is my positivity for the day. Had Universal not closed we would not have rescheduled to May. If May doesnt work I booked for the second weekend in December. Whether it is May or December, I have the chance to run into you Carole and get a picture; ME, getting a picture with The Carole and Tom.

lol.......you made me laugh!! Yes, my positivity is back today.....regardless when it is, we’ll be back! Both of us!!!

I would love to have our picture taken with you Vicki, whenever it is.....

I did laugh at “The Carole and Tom”......I have one friend from schooldays who still to this day calls me by full name, every time we speak or meet......but with my maiden name and has recently added “The“ to saying “Carole ##############” ........folks don’t have a clue what she’s on about if they didn’t know my name before I was married.......she’s funny too!!! I don’t think she has just called me Carole for about 30 years.......lol......

Aw, I'm so sorry  We officially cancelled our trip today so I understand. But at least we'll both be there for HHN!

That's how we felt too.

Oh that’s a horrible feeling to actually have to cancel things! It is for the best, but doesn’t feel so good right now......and yes, we have HHN To look forward to........ :wave2:

Hey @schumigirl! I’m sorry about your cancellation. I’ll have to take a rain check on our DisMeet!

I’m supposed to go to a conference in DC the end of May. I’m sure it will get cancelled, which is a fine with me. My son has an engineering and construction camp in CO the end of June. I’m hoping that won’t be cancelled.:scared:

Hi Carole (and Tom) we were just discussing Orlando and wondered when you were off next, sad to hear your next trip won't happen such scary times atm

But we are hoping and praying September happens as you are no doubt xx

:welcome: back Matt!!!!!

I say welcome, as it will be a September trip report soon......I just haven't got round to changing the title yet!!! But, good to see you back posting.

We just have to wait till Virgin cancel the flight and we can either get a refund or defer it for new flights next year...….either way, it is what it is.

It WILL happen in September...….lol......and we are so looking forward to seeing you both then. Are you still making plans for September trip...….....big hugs to you both.....and Jackson too......:dog::wave2:

Yes, it seems that way doesn't it :( To be honest, even if everything was open by then we`re not keen to travel so soon now. So, it`s now on to September in our mind.

Well, we will try to go ahead and have a meet in September as I`m sure St Augustine will be in our plans then too. Best laid plans and all that......

I truly hope your boy`s camp isn't cancelled......what a shame if it is!!

Good to see you though......:wave2:

So sorry you had to cancel, I’m sure I will be canceling our end of April trip. I don’t have much invested at this time so I will wait some before totally canceling.
This is such a stressful time.
We hope to do our usual August trip so that is something to look forward to. I just can’t fathom being in lockdown for months and months, that really will stink!

It’s weird, because as of now nothing has been cancelled yet, I think it’s going to feel more real when our flights decide they either won’t be taking off and we can get a refund or voucher. Until then we still feel as if we’re going......our friend will very kindly cancel the hotel once they are all back at work. I‘m more worried about them right now.

I think we keep telling ourself that we wouldn’t want to be in the parks in May, so that makes us feel better.

However, each to their own.......if you still plan to go in April I hope it happens for you......but, happy you have an August trip planned......I’d be travelling then too and happy to do so.

The thought of being in lockdown for months is very scary.....but thank you for your contribution as a nurse ❤......every one of you deserve a medal right now. My sister is a nurse with the NHS over here and we‘d be lost without them at the best of time, but now.....doctors and nurses and all who work in hospitals and emergency services are real heroes!!!

Looking fwd to reading more as this morphs to Sept. I have fingers - and everything else - crossed that HHN still happens. I don't know how they're going to get those houses done as they'd normally be well underway by now, but it's amazing what UO can probably do with the sizable team, talent and money they have to throw at a problem. lol.

I am now so grateful that we squeezed in one more trip under the wire - just came back a couple of weeks ago from Mardi Gras while it was still considered safe to be there- fabulous time, great concerts - so thankful we were able to do it. 10 days later, the park officially closed.

Now if we could just get the selfish spring breakers the heck out of Fla - they're still packed like sardines on the beaches, despite all the warnings and spreading it here and to their loved ones when they return home. :crazy2: I think the governor is going to do a state-wide shelter in place any day now, as too many visitors aren't listening to the warnings.

But enough negativity...onward to HHN! Everyone stay safe!

I`m so glad you managed that trip before the madness erupted!!!

Yes, crowds are still gathering here....unbelievable. Yesterday the tv was showing crowds all over.....beaches, parks and of course grocery stores......our Prime Minister needs to grow a spine and announce lockdown for any non essential travel or going out.

Yes, maybe in a few weeks I`ll get around to changing the title......lol......I can`t quite do it yet, but I will.......I do know we still won`t want to travel in May.

But, so looking forward to HHN...…..it will happen :thumbsup2

It's a real bummer. So far... Davy had a math competition canceled (and he's freaking out that he may have had his last days at middle school).
Was is the Math Kangaroo competition? I was in charge of ours and had hoped it would still get to go on as we only had 27 students registered at our location. Friday the 13th I was making final arrangements with teachers and the principal we got an email that after school stuff was closed for a few weeks, and then a few hours later heard that schools were closing for a few weeks. :sad1:

Finally made it here!! I'm so excited to start reading about your plans!

:welcome: luvdisdogs.......

It is good to see you, although things are a little at a standstill right now........but.......will be up and running soon, when things aren’t so up in the air.

Can‘t cancel/postpone flights till airlines make announcement, but we won’t be travelling in May regardless.......so, it’ll be on to September as soon as possible.......

Glad to see you here though......:flower3:

Alas, I read about your trip being cancelled so sorry! Maybe it's for the best, I don't know but I feel we will all be better off once we get control of this situation. Really hoping September works out for you with the airlines, parks and HHN. We have plans for October, so right there with in crossing fingers and sending good vibes out for HHN.

Of course it would be okay with me if you did a May trip report anyways.. sort of an imaginary trip report. Tell us about all the places you and Tom were planning to go eat, types of wine, chocolate cakes and all about the adventures planned. Stay safe!

I'm so sorry you had to cancel. Just wanted to pop by here and let you know I'm thinking about you on the other side of the pond. We have some family in the UK and it seems pretty bad over there, but at least they seem to be starting to take it more seriously! Hang in there and I look forward to reading whatever you write about!! It's always fun!

lol......it`s hard to be positive right now about anything!!! I keep saying I`m going to change the title, but never seem to get round to it......

But, we keep getting emails and offers from all the places we usually frequent in Florida....all offering curb side pick up......it`s like they`re taunting us right now...….:rotfl:

I`m sure October will be fine for you, September too.....there`s that positivity back...…:thumbsup2 But trips before that.....I have no idea.

It is actually weird that as of now, nothing is actually cancelled yet......I`m sure once the flights are, it`ll become very real. We need to wait on Virgin first.

I`ve stopped reading folks opinions....seems there are so many experts on message boards like this one...I have no idea why we need scientists at all as they seem to know everything and have all the answers 🤬......in their own little world of course!!!! Seen some crazy things written by folks who just like the sound of their own voice!

But, I will get a wiggle on at some point and get this one moving again.....but.....always good to see you post......:wave2:

:welcome: Kathy...….good to see you!!!

Thank you......so many folks are being hit by this, it`s hard to get upset over a vacation......but we do!!!

Yes, it`s a little crazy over here......and yes, may be a little too late but with the ban now in place, maybe we`ll see more folks take it seriously and not gather in groups as they were......what is wrong with people who still think they can carry on as normal!!!

What about your part of the world?? Is it being hit badly with the virus and grocery stores taking a hit too?

I`ll get this moving soon.....and look forward to seeing you here again...….take care.....:wave2:

Things are pretty weird here in Canada too. I have (had) a foot in the US as well because my son was at boarding school in the states before things really got crazy. So. It's an adjustment to stay the least!! Toronto so far has some cases, but what scares me most is that with Toronto being a big city, like the New York of Canada if you will....that it would get bad very quickly the more people contract the virus and keep on being out and about. People are taking the social distancing somewhat seriously...most people - but I worry about the teens and young people not taking it seriously enough. I am actually hoping the government here puts more strict measures in place to keep people at home for a few weeks, then maybe this thing will pass more quickly. Who knows, but that's my two cents!!

I do always look forward to reading about your plans and trips though! During our cut short trip to Florida we did manage to venture out of the Disney bubble this time and had a lot of fun at Universal. I can see why you like it so much and are able to have trips there that are so much more spontaneous than a Disney trip, especially with the EP. I would definitely like to go back and have more time to try more than we had time for on this trip.
