*** Official June 2020 ***

To be honest I don't think it is looking too great. Numbers of confirmed cases are continuing to go up and will unless people listen and stay home from fun things. I obviously don't mean grocery shopping, dr appts essential things but the spring breakers, worker who can work from home, should be etc. I don't think we have seen the worst of it yet. That said, I am not canceling yet, till holding out.

Is anyone else getting nervous about their June trip...or are we all being optimistic that things will be back to business as usual.
I'm wondering the same thing. We're staying DVC and haven't bought tickets or airfare yet, now I'm hesitant to do either. :confused3 I am hopeful that in 12 weeks we could be in a much better place but also knowing worst case scenario would end our trip. I think we're at a wait and see point.
I think just about any time is going to be more crowded now. I've seen people rescheduling to June, July, August, Oct, and Nov mostly.

We are scheduled to leave the Thursday after school gets out (school is out the Wednesday of the week before but I'm a teacher so I work til Friday). So far we are doing digital learning days but I really keep encouraging my students to log on and complete the assignments because if they don't we may have to extend.
This such a weird place to be in... I hate not knowing. Those who are asking about end of May start of June temps, I feel like it's not too terrible. We've been to Orlando (various parks) in may/june nearly every time we go and while it is hot, its manageable especially if you take advantage of EMH (early or late) and take a break midday. We always do this and with the fp's we get, we ride nearly every thing we want every time. I am delaying paying off my trip until the deadline, because I don't want to be out of the money. If my cruise is canceled, I can only get FCC right now, hoping that might change. I would rather have the cash, due to work being out.

I am trying to look at this from a different perspective, it def sucks to have to cancel or rearrange our trips, I've been planning our 20th anniv. cruise for years now and that is a real possibility of being canceled. We decided to add a few days on for Disney when we got back, again could be canceled. I just try to think of those who are in real predicaments, students missing out on classes, proms, graduations, award ceremonies, sat/act testing etc. Not to make light of our situation, but I know it could be worse. I am currently out of work due to this virus, as a paraprofessional that is contracted our schools aren't paying us like they are those directly employeed. I will have gone at minimum a month between paydays even though it's just 2 weeks of not working, plus a week of spring break I was off anyway. It is a real possibility this virus will cause more schools to cancel the rest of the semester, thus causing more people to be out of a job etc. Anyway not to rant or soapbox, just a bit of perspective from someone who REAALLLLLLY wants to go on my cruise and disney trip!
I hope June is safe and back to swing of things! I have a June 27-July2 booked for Dance the World!
This is the same week that I am suppose to be there. But as things are looking, I will probably be postponing it. I hate to give up my free dining package at Pop. It would have been the first time I have stayed there.

I'm really not sure if our trip will be a go or not at this point. We're booked for June 5-13, and while I could see WDW reopening if we can get a handle on COVID-19, I'm also seeing a patchwork response to it across the country, so I'm not sure how well it will be stamped down by then. It might be under control in one state, but then with people traveling it could pop up in another location.
I'm trying to reset my expectations and think of it as planning for a trip in 2021 instead of 2020, but it's so hard when it's been 15 years since I was at WDW and we've been planning this trip for over a year already. I know it's not really a tragedy in the big picture, but I'm still sad.

This is my feelings and thoughts too. Sad, since it has been six years for me and I was originally suppose to go in late December when my daughter's marching band was going to be there, but that was cancelled so I switched to June. So, I have been planning it for a long time, six years - since my last trip. But I know that this is just a big disappointment and not nearly as unfortunate as high school seniors missing out on their big once in a lifetime activities, prom, graduation ceremony, and just ending their senior year in school with their friends. I also wonder how many people who had planned big weddings during this time are dealing with things.

Hello! I was originally booked for May 3-9 at the Cabins, but have moved my trip to June 14-20 (still at the cabins) so I am joining you all on this thread. I’m hoping that the parks will be open by June, everything is just so uncertain now so I am just taking this one step at a time. If I need to reschedule again, so be it.

Anyone feeling like moderate crowds this summer are going to turn to heavy crowds with people rescheduling? Assuming the parks are open in June.

Interestingly my DD and I had this discussion. We feel things could go two ways: one - schools will re-open at some point and kids will be attending until mid-late June, thereby making June travel low crowds. Two - WDW will re-open (lets just say mid-May) lots of peeps will re-book June asap and crowds will be crowds...

Different states have different rules, but in many school districts extending the school year is not a possibility. In our CA district the calendar is like a legal doc set in stone. Last year we had an emergency that only affected our rural school. It was decided that the students would have to attend an additional half day (on the teacher's last day). Many kids did not come and there was quite the uprorar about it. They could not extend beyond that due to teacher contracts. The previous year we had severe flooding that again only affected our school. Other schools remained open, our school was out an extra week. None of the time was made up. There have already been states and districts that have closed schools for the remainder of the year. There may be districts that extend, but I think they will be rare.

Touring plans posted a projection. It is interesting. They predict that if the parks open in April or early May there will be extra people at the parks by June. But they allow a few weeks for the crowds to descend, so if the parks are closed until later in May or even June the crowds could be more normal, or even slightly lower. Of course they are only taking into consideration people replanning. We do have to wonder how many people will not visit the parks this summer who might have but now cannot due to financial concerns. It's all wait and see of course.

And what if they open with restrictions like shows and rides are closed or no meet and greets with face characters as some are saying...

We are in the same boat. DD23 will start her 2nd college stint in the BSN program in the fall, and DS18 will start college in the fall. Our dates are about the only time we can go for, well, maybe EVER as a family. We are holding fast, waiting, HOPING that we don't have to cancel
YES! this is our "last" family trip as well - and my oldest is having real conversations with a recruiter to join the Army so who knows if he'll even get to come on this June trip anyway...

I just kinda want life to go back to how it was even though I did complain about how "hard" it was - this is even harder...:headache:

At the beginning of March (before the virus took over the whole world) my husband and I booked a June 5-9 stay at the Contemporary for our 30th anniversary. We honeymooned there 30 years ago. I'm really hoping we don't have to cancel. I have an AP and usually take several trips to WDW each year, but my husband never wants to go and this was HIS idea. I was so excited to be going with him again. I will wait until the very last minute to cancel or rebook.

Just rescheduled our mid-June trip for a late July/early August trip. Even if things open back up in May, we won't be rushing out to join the crowds right away. We weren't even going to do a trip this year, so if for some reason this still doesn't work out, we'll just stick with the original plan to skip a year and make 2021 a bigger, longer trip. Headed over to the July 2020 group!

We're still holding tight with our reservation of May 30th - June 7th. We make fast passes this Tuesday, and I'm just not excited like I normally am. Fast pass day is such a milestone in the trip planning and everything is up in the air right now. We have decided to give it another month before we reschedule our trip. Only thing is this trip was a bounceback for free dining that we booked when we were there October 2019. It's also a graduation gift to our nephew and my son's birthday trip all in one. We will just keep hoping and praying that this virus will be controlled very soon. Hope everyone is staying well.

Normally I'm excited just counting down our days but I haven't even been counting down the days on our board at home. I was so let down having to cancel our spring break trip that I don't want to get my hopes up.

I feel the same way. We would be there right now, if our trip hadn't been canceled. I had really been looking forward to that trip, since we were going with my best friend and her family. 😔 My family has APs, so we were already planning a trip in June before they expire. But I'm not convinced that's even going to happen right now. So I don't have the heart to put any more effort into planning until things settle down.

This is my feelings right now. I haven't been in six years and was looking forward to it. My late June trip had already been rescheduled from December 19-Jan 20 when my daughter's band trip got cancelled. I changed our dates to late June and was super excited. But now, it looks like I will be postponing it again. I have waited for six years to go and I do not want to go if there are going to be lots of cutbacks of fireworks shows, and rides. I am also thinking that I would just be a bit paranoid my whole time there, worrying about everything that we are touching and if anyone is sick around us. So, it will probably be better if I go ahead and postpone it.

so I rescheduled today. I was June 11-22. I'm now July 29-Aug 8th. Being DVC, and with kids in school, I need to travel this summer or bank my points. I was worried June would not happen and I've been watching availability. Yesterday I could have done 5 days BLT, then 5 days Kildani. This morning, that was no longer there. I decided to get in while I could before I was only at SS or OKW. I booked 1 day at BLT, 3 Poly and 7 at Kildani. I previously was doing 3 poly, 3 BW, and 3 Jambo. BW is gone except singles now and same with Jambo (studio). I'm happy with what I have- pushing it back 6 weeks and best thing is- it's a great reason to finally buy an annual pass and come back next june and do Boardwalk. Assuming the fully reopen before we go now, I am pretty happy.

We just did the same. I'll be heading over to July group too!

Well we broke down and rescheduled our Free Dining bounce backtrip. I didn't want to wait another month and there be no availability for the free dining dates left. My call in experience was great! I figured I would be on hold for ever, but called the bounce back number that I have programmed on my cell phone and got right through to a very knowledgeable CM who was able to move our exact same package to July 18 - July 26 in all of 15 minutes hold time. I even will get a refund back of $48.00 dollars because the room rate was a little less than our original dates. Still hoping and praying everyone else's trips are safe and able to happen. Guess I'll find the July group now and join.
