On the Floor and Out the Door!: a 17 day HalloChristmas, RunDisney, MNSSHP, HHN, MVMCP adventure! new 2/8!

The one time we did HHN, we were able to go in early and gather in the wait area by the Simpsons. This was so helpful since we didn’t have EP and only had 1 night of HHN.

It definitely helps maximize your time for the night! There's so much going on it's hard to get to it all otherwise.

I love Stranger Things but I also heard the House wasn’t the best. The picture op I saw in other reports at one of the resorts looked really cool!

The photo op did look cool! I wish we had made it to it.

DH and I are locals, and we have been thinking about trying this out... as locals we hear alot of reviews, and so far this spot has just gotten an okay review... mostly that the buffet itself is not consistent, some food is really well done, and other dish totally are missing the basic mark, dessert was the biggest complaint, as well as not enough lighter fare option... and the service is missing some steps for sure... I was really glad to read your review and see that you liked, and had some positive comments... parking is a big thing with the locals, so I guess that they drum that point into the training if nothing else... We have some friends that are coming later in the year, so maybe we will suggest this as a spot to meet up...

Oh yeah.... how was the entertainment?

We really enjoyed it and would definitely go back. My sister and i went back in December for their regular breakfast and our server was fantastic and we enjoyed it again.

The parking is a nice perk especially because they tell you that if you're going into the theme parks you can stay parked there all day.

The entertainment was nice. I think their placement of the artist could be better and it was a little loud if you were seated close by but we enjoyed it.

Well this sounds more terrifying than anything you are going to encounter at HHN

:rotfl: :rotfl: 100% accurate!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You all totally have the same humor as us. Why do I feel like a trip to Appliance Direct is going to be on your must do list for the next trip?

omg it definitely should be lol. I wonder if i can call ahead to schedule a meet and greet with the commercial man.

Ok these pose the same way every time you find a photographer pics are so cracking me up. Smile, wave, thumbs up, arms up, repeat :earboy2:

Yes the photographers all had pretty much the same routine :rotfl:. We didn't even need instructions after a while lol

Now those are friends like everyone neeeds

Yess they really saved the day.

I've never even seen the house and know this is so right. I hated season 2 but 3 redeemed itself.

Same! I don't know why they did it that way!

I work in an Emergency Department also. We had a lady with a broken leg and she spiked a temp or 102.5 and a killer headache an hour into her visit while she was waiting for surgery. Of course, we were saving the N-95's for all the respiratory cases! 😷 Keeping our fingers crossed that she tests negative! Thanks for all you are doing out there in Staten Island! :thanks: My daughter lives in Brooklyn, and she said the city is just so different now. Stay healthy!

It's so hard in the ER because you just don't know what's going on when people first come in. We are reusing our N95 masks :confused3 but I wear it constantly now. I'm thinking of you and I hope you stay safe and healthy! How are things where you are?

I live in WI and we have the third highest number of cases in the State. We are halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago, right along the main interstate, so we see lots of people from all over. The community is doing a great job letting us know that they appreciate us! So far, the staff is all healthy. We have our brown bags lined up to store our N-95's, and one of our nurses is a great caricature artist, so he has decorated a lot of our bags. It is the little things that bring some sunshine to our days that really help! :sunny: Stay healthy!

Ugh Chainsaws

Hi guys! Just a warning- this update has a lot of videos/pictures from Halloween Horror Nights so there's some gore/blood/horror.

When we were done with the Killer Klowns photo op, we were right in the Vanity Ball scare zone so, of course, we walked through it. I like to do the scare zones each in the light and then once it's dark. When it's light, you can see all the details and get better pictures or videos. But once it's dark, it seems much more scary lol.

This scare zone just felt meh to us. The storyline they tried to give it didn't really seem to come through and it seemed like a lot of stuff thrown together.

On our way to our next house, we walked through another scare zone- Vikings Undead.

I liked the costumes and props in this one.

We made our way over to the Universal Monsters house which was one I was really excited for and the wait was posted at 10 minutes.

We got in line at 6:18 and entered the house at 6:30 (the official starting time for the event!) so it was pretty accurate.

I liked this house a lot! There were so many classic monsters represented and it felt like classic Halloween to me. I get scared pretty easily but this one really caught me off guard a lot of times.

As we were walking through the Simpsons area, we found a band of chainsaws.

I actually hate these chainsaw things at Halloween events. Unless they come up behind me and I don't know they're coming, they're really just annoying not scary lol. I know they're not gonna actually cut me with the chainsaw and it's just so loud and it's inevitably where teenage girls are screaming at the top of their lungs and maybe I'm just old now lol but it's just not my favorite.

The Depths of Fear house was nearby and only posted a 5 minute wait so we went there. This was one of Universal's original houses (not based off a movie/tv show/musician), and was described as an underwater type house with parasitic creatures. I had low expectations for it since I didn't hear great reviews ahead of time.

We got in line at 6:46 and entered the house at 6:49. We were making good time so far!

The front of the house looked cool but I'm glad I went in not expecting much because I wasn't a huge fan. The storyline didn't carry out to me and I get scared by anything jumping out at me and I didn't get scared at all here. I was especially glad it was such a short wait for this!

Mike was very excited for the House of 1000 corpses house and I was not at all. :rolleyes1 It was posted at a 5 minute wait so we went there next to keep the peace.

I guess not a lot of people had made it to the back of the park yet which was working in our favor because this area was pretty empty.

I really liked the front of the house! We got in line at 6:56 and entered at 7:01 so that 5 minutes was spot on.

I ended up liking the house way more than I thought I would! I haven't seen the movie and probably never will but according to Mike, they did a good job capturing it.

It was just after 7 pm and we'd already conquered half the houses! Our feet were begging for a break so we decided to watch the Academy of Villains show since we were right near it but we still had time to kill.

We opted to ride Men in Black since it was closest.

I'm terrible at all these types of rides (it's similar to Buzz lightyear) BUT I managed to press the red button at the right time and beat Mike's score!

I still didn't win cause Steve's score was higher but I was still happy to beat Mike lol. He pouted and I gloated. 😇

I love the projections on the buildings!

Next up: Academy of Villains and the rest of HHN

Yikes please stay safe!

The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming and brought me to tears a few times. There's an insane amount of food being delivered every day and they've even formed groups to donate PPE to us. I'm glad your community is supporting you also.

We have these bags I've come to call potato sacks lol that clip onto us to hold our masks. I like the idea of decorating them!

Please feel free to reach out if you need anything- even to talk/vent!

I shall endeavor to not soil myself from fright.

Oh! Hadn't thought of that. Smart.

I would be too. Love the classics.
I liked this house a lot! There were so many classic monsters represented and it felt like classic Halloween to me.
:goodvibes I think I'd have the same reaction.
I get scared pretty easily but this one really caught me off guard a lot of times.
Lots of jump scares?
we found a band of chainsaws.
"band"
Played mostly the classics, did they?
I actually hate these chainsaw things at Halloween events. Unless they come up behind me and I don't know they're coming, they're really just annoying not scary lol.
Yeah, I could see that. Fun the first time, then... not so much.
described as an underwater type house with parasitic creatures.
Sounds interesting. Cool idea.
I ended up liking the house way more than I thought I would!
Good!

 Way to go!
I was still happy to beat Mike lol. He pouted and I gloated. 😇

That's Wakkie Nu Nu part 2

And when you have butterbeer and a castle, the only natural thing to do is have a photo shoot.

I told Mike and Steve I wanted a picture of the two of them and you would've thought I said I was gonna fling them over the railing lol.:confused3 But look- they even broke out some smiles!

Photo shoot completed, we made our way into Jurassic Park.

I wanted to do the Raptor Encounter but the wait time was already listed as 45 minutes and no one wanted to wait that long.

I did, however, convince them to stop to use the automated photo machine to take some pictures with the Jeep.

The boys also vetoed my suggestion to go on the river adventure because they didn't want to get wet before our brunch reservation.

So we continued on.

Kong had a 10 minute wait posted so we stopped.

I was looking forward to the scareactor in the queue hopefully scaring one of us (preferably the boys) but if one was there, we missed it.

After our ride, we continued making our way into Toon Lagoon.

One of the water rides was down for refurb and suggesting we ride the other elicited the same response from the boys as the river adventure did.

I wanted to take this photo cause I think it's hysterical but I think it needed to be taken from further away for the full effect.

As we entered the Marvel area, Captain America was out with no line!

He complimented my fanny pack:rotfl:.

We still had a little time before our brunch reservation so we decided to see how many rides we could get in!
I love your trip report. I am having so much fun reading it. A question though, is it just me or do Capt America's pants look funny? He looks like he only remembered the top of his costume and then threw on a pair of cargo pants.

I know they're not gonna actually cut me with the chainsaw and it's just so loud and it's inevitably where teenage girls are screaming at the top of their lungs and maybe I'm just old now lol but it's just not my favorite.

Lol, I hate when people act like they're really going to attack them and scream and run around! I almost got pushed to the ground a few years back by people who were acting like they were running for their lives.

What's supposed to be scary about Chiquita Banana?

I actually hate these chainsaw things at Halloween events.
Before I even read what you said my reaction was that looks like way to large of a gathering of chainsawers and highly annoying. Add screaming teenagers and no, thank you!

Especially when you start them like this:

10/10 ER nurses do not recommend this.

shall endeavor to not soil myself from fright.

See above.

Oh! Hadn't thought of that. Smart.

Why thank you. Every once in a while, my brain processes logic.

Lots of jump scares?

Yup, that's most of what the scares on at HHN honestly.

Played mostly the classics, did they?

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

eah, I could see that. Fun the first time, then... not so much.

Exactly!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I didn't notice that until now but you're right!

Ugh same! I feel so old saying this but when I see groups of teens near us, I cringe lol.
