Can I give ‘fake’ flight info for departure day for DME??

Our outbound flight leaves at 10:59pm which means DME would pick us up at 7:30. I’d prefer they picked us up at 8pm to avoid so much time at the airport. Anyone ever done this?

Yes..find another legitimate flight departing slightly later and give that flight info to DME.

Did you actually confirm your pick-up time as 7:30?

If you do and miss your flight because of any type of delays it’s your problem not Disneys. You don’t know what security will be like or check in lines or traffic. Or if you are first or last hotel.

No but I thought it had to be 3 hours at least for pick up. Maybe I could call and they could make an exception?

Also if I did give them different flight info would that effect me doing airline check in for my checked bag?

ie- are DME and airline check I’m connected? I know disney ships your checked bags to the airport for you if you don’t want to bring them on DME

If I was going to be late I know it would be my fault. It’s just one minute away from getting an 8pm pick up from DME so I’m not too worried about missing the flight.

1) The pickup time is 3 hours before the flight +/- 15 minutes. So a 10:59P flight would have a pickup time between 7:44P and 8:14P
2) They will not make an exception

More than likely, the "next" bus would be 30 minutes after the bus you're assigned. So if they assign you a 7:45P pickup time for your "real" flight, and you give them a fake flight (even one a minute later), you might be assigned to the 8:15P bus.

Well, DME hasn't made this kind of exception (that we've heard, anyway) in its nearly 15 years of operation, but you could ask.

Why do you think they will pick you up at 7:30? Domestic passengers are typically scheduled 3 hours +/- 15 minutes before flight departure.

But no, DME and RAC are not connected in that way.

The 3 times we have been they assign us a time that is on the hour or on the half hour. Never had a window, unless you are counting the time they tell you to get there early.

Last time we had a 5:45pm flight and they said our DME would depart at 2:30pm. I just don't want to end up sitting at the airport for 2.5 hours. Even when security has been busy we get through pretty quickly

You misunderstood. You would be assigned a time between 7:44P and 8:14P. Departure time minus three hours +/- 15 minutes. The exact pickup time will probably be on the five minutes :-)05, :10, :15, :20, etc).

And that would be three hours and 15 minutes before the flight. You probably had a chance of being assigned the 3PM bus, but that will depend on how many other people are assigned.

You want an easy solution... get a cab, uber, or rental car. Then you can leave when you want.

ETA: If it's me, I accept it's a free service and take the time that is assigned to me. If I want it to work on my schedule, then I arrange my own transportation.

Agree with PPs - just go with your assigned DME pick up time for your actual flight. As mentioned, it will be 3 hours prior to your flight, give or take 15 minutes. This will put you on the way to the airport right around 8pm, which is what you're wanting anyhow. Its possible they may also need to stop at other resorts after yours to pick up more guests as well.

Also, anyone flying a participating airline can use Resort Airline Check-In, its not connected to DME at all. They are independent of each other.

On one of our trips sometime on our bus did that. They ended up missing their flight. We were the first ones on the bus and then we picked up at a couple of other resorts. Traffic was all backed up - looked to be from construction as we didn't see an accident, and then security was all backed up too. I would just get picked up at your assigned time.

I would go with the time they assign you. Like others have said, you don't know how many people they still have to pick up after you, how much traffic there will be, or how busy security will be. It took us at least an hour to get through security in January - I've never seen it so busy before. We don't like to be rushed at the airport and worried about whether we'll miss our boarding group (Southwest).

We have taken Uber from and to the airport several times. Quick, and on our schedule. If you want total control over your time I'd suggest the same or another car service. ME is great for what it is though - it's just moving at a different rate of speed in order to accommodate more than one persons timetable and to be outside of the usual possible delays in getting you to the airport and on your flight within the recommended time frame.

I also tend to take a car service or cab to the airport so I can determine when I leave. If my flight is later than 8 am, I tend to send my luggage via RAC still. My last flight was at 7 am, I did not want a 4 am ride back to MCO so I walked out of the resort at 5 am and waved over a cab. I got to the airport, dropped my luggage and was at my gate by 6:05 am. Granted, I was going back solo, so it was much easier.

Yes. I know many people that do this because they want to depart later. Just find another legitimate flight that fits your needs for DME.

It depends on the resort. Boardwalk is typically :15 and :45 (in my experience).

That would be great if that were the case. The only 3 times we went to WDW we were at the BWI and all 3 times were on the hour or half hour. If my time wasn’t “10:59pm” I wouldn’t give it a second thought! ETA - our stays were 9/2018, 8/2019, 11/2019

I never did it outbound but I did have an issue inbound. They asked for my flight information and I said I didn't have it. They pressed me for a flight and so I told them they're not going to like it. I finally told them I was on FedEx (whatever the flight number was). There was an awkward moment of silence. She said "What?" I repeated, "I'm on FedEx ###". She said "Um. Just show up to the bus when you're ready to go." I said "Okay, thank you."

For the future, there is a toll-free direct line to DME reservations in this forum (search for 877 in this forum only, or maybe somebody who has the number will post it). You can reserve through them, and they won't press for a flight number.
