Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Hello, it looks like I’m finally going to stay at the Poly in March 2021, after years of dreaming and 21 WDW trips staying at other resorts. I’m renting DVC deluxe studio points for our stay, and close to finishing the process.
Room location recommendations very appreciated! I’ve visited the Poly many times, but would love to accept your recommendations based on what room locations you enjoyed in this category:
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows: Standard View Deluxe Studio Villa. Many thanks! 🌺
I second Tokelau. It's in the middle of the resort so you are close to the Great Ceremonial House and right next to the Oasis Pool (I like their pool bar for a quiet lunch/snack/drink, and they have a refillable mug station right there as well). You are also close to the TTC to pickup the Epcot monorail.

Is it worth it to upgrade to a lake view villa from a standard villa? We are staying on DVC points. What is the feasibility of getting a lake view villa in Moorea and actually seeing the MK fireworks from the room?

Same here. We spend more time at the resort than we do the parks, so the resort is the most important aspect of our trips. Thinking about walking around the Poly grounds or relaxing by the pool listening to the Hawaiian music and the boat horns makes me want to be there right now :cloud9:.

How exciting! I can't help with the studio longhouses as we've never stayed in one, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip! The Poly is an amazing resort, you are going to love it :wizard:.

Sounds like an amazing trip! Enjoy all the planning :).

Hope you have a great time! The Poly is a beautiful resort as well as very relaxing, you will love it! Enjoy the planning :goodvibes.
You are all so kind, thank you very much! This forum is one place where people understand how much this place means to me and how exciting it is for me to finally stay there.
Why have I never done it before? I’m a teacher. Teacher paycheck. With everything going on in the world right now, I’ve taken a hard look at some of the things I really want to do in my life. I’m going to be more aggressively do them. This is one of the less expensive things on the list. I’ve already been fortunate to do a lot of neat things.

We officially booked! Our TA got back to us this morning, she had no problems finding availability. Maybe more people are rebooking for July 2021 than May 2021? The interesting thing she told us is that Disney has made room only reservations more flexible for next year, we only had to pay $200 for the deposit for each resort rather than 1 night at each, and also it will be easier to add on tickets etc later on than it normally is.

I just booked 2 days ago for 2 DVC studios. Used all of my 2019 and 2020 points and all but 12 of 2021. Today I got an email saying you can only borrow 50% of your 2021 points. But they would let people who already booked use their points so I'm so lucky I booked 2 days ago!

The Poly is my home resort and I've never stayed there! So excited. I always make a point of going over there for a meal or the luau but this will be my first time actually staying there!

I sure hope they have the resorts open by Feb.!

I can't give an opinion as we've never stayed DVC, but bumping your post in case others are able to help :flower3:.

You're welcome! I agree, this thread is filled with posters who are not only very helpful, but also understand the love people have for the beautiful Poly. Hope you have a great time and enjoy everything the Poly has to offer :goodvibes.

Hi everyone. Has anyone spent New Year's Eve at the Polynesian? If so, do they have pretty cool/fun things for all age groups on the 31st? Last year we were at PO-FQ and the kids had a blast. I'd love to be at the Poly to see the MK fireworks etc., but curious what there will be for the kids (ages 3 and 11). Any info is much appreciated!

Thank you! We decided to just go for it and booked Lake View, which means we will be in Moorea. We put our preference to be a top floor, so fingers crossed. :)

You're welcome! Have a great time :goodvibes.

We’ve been at Poly the last three NYEs. I will try to find my posts from the time and also answer your questions in more detail when I have a moment. If you don’t see me reply in the next few days, please bug (remind) me.

But in short, it’s a fantastic day/night at the Poly. Lots of activities and the best fireworks view of anywhere in property. (In my humble opinion )

Hopefully staying at the Poly in August! We booked standard view. Any room request advice? I read that second floor rooms don't have a balcony, but are there any other tips?

Yay! Rarotonga is my favorite Standard View longhouse on the regular non-DVC side, since you're just steps away from the Great Ceremonial House, dining and transportation as well as both pools. If you go out the back way you're right at the bus stop and the path to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail direct. It's very convenient. The landscaping is so good you can hardly tell there's a parking lot out your window, and the coolest thing is you can see the monorail zooming past.

I second that!!!

I can’t tell you from my own knowledge having only stayed in Tokelau but, most of what I have read on other people’s responses says if you are in a Lake View higher room, yes, you can see the fireworks. Some views might be obstructed by the bungalows but still probably see most of it. There is a website people actually post pictures of their views from various resorts. If you do a search of Disney resort room views, you should Be able to find it.

Touring Plans has room views. They don’t have photos from all rooms, since they rely on submissions from subscribers, and they are slow to update when room categories change, but you should be able to get a general idea. I’m not sure if you have to subscribe or not for that feature.
