Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

So because my mind is going in a ton of directions. I am considering dumping our hoppers . I have a fear scheduling your park will be required ( we often hop to Epcot at night to finish off our day).
So instead of hoppers I am thinking of renting 1/2 day cabanas three days.
We have rented in the past and enjoyed it and hopefully would ensure we get into the pool area.
I am still hoping that we can go to a park in the morning, swim in afternoon and re-enter same park later at night.
We book YC for convenience of walking and Hopping.
What does everyone think ? Do you think we will have to schedule our park? How would they even do that? By where your fastpasses are scheduled? Am I reading too far into all these different threads ?

What dates are you going? I ask because there's no point dumping anything right now. Obviously I'm sure you know you can modify everything right up until 30 (?) days before your trip. I would just leave everything alone until we hear more about protocol.

I'm literally afraid to change anything on my reservation (room level choice, tickets, etc.) because I have this strange feeling that when they decide what numbers to cap the parks, parties, etc. it will be date purchase based. Meaning, if I purchased my tickets on January 5th and you purchased your tickets on January 18th, I'll get in and you won't because the cap hit by the time my date rolled around. I don't know if that makes any sense. Obviously the easier way to handle it would be to have dated tickets, but wow that is going to be an internet crashing nightmare!

You think getting Ohana reservations are tough?! Just wait until dated tickets on sale dates!!

@natebenma can you remove our Be our Guest entry for Dec 17-23rd? We were able to book our home resort of CCV prior to our 7 month window opening - we'll stay at BCV one of these trips!!

Thanks!

We are hopefully going 7/31-8/8. I will watch and wait ....

I’m still hoping for our July 9-12 trip. If it happens, I’ll post updates here about any new/unusual procedures, etc. I did our FPs, and the threads about the lack of availability were dead on, so they’ve got to be playing with the numbers and restricting things. I couldn‘t get a single tier one of any kind at DHS for any day, and at AK I managed a Navi, but it’s in the evening. I had to switch around our park days plus plan on mostly evenings. Guess that just means spending the day at SAB, which is okay too.

Unfortunately, the way things are looking, I have this horrible feeling that the parks will be open but the US-Canada border won’t be, and we’ll get cancelled again. Or there will still be a mandatory 14 day quarantine for people returning to Canada, and DH can’t be off work that long and we definitely can’t risk the million dollar fine (literally) if he cheats and sneaks in to self-isolate in his office at work (family business, and he’s the general manager over employees who mostly escaped from the Land of Misfit Toys, so they can’t be unsupervised for more than a day or two without chaos ensuing).

But the trip is two months away, so I’ve got to stay optimistic, right? And I’m sure we’ll hear more in the next month about how things will be working. With Disney Springs starting to open, more news has got to trickle in.

I got my official email from Disney asking me to cancel or reschedule :(. My dates were June 2-3. I have not yet decided what to do. I may wait until next year. I had planned on going anyway if they were open but started thinking with wearing a mask and the likelyhood that the pools would be closed how much fun would it be to just sit there. So I'm going to see if I can get a similar rate for my anniversary this year and if not retry birthday trip next year.

Can't agree more. I think the options to enter the park will be greatly restricted, and even AP holders will likely need a virtual dated ticket to enter, at least in the early phases.

I hear you. I have ours booked for September and am concerned with what the plans are for the park and restaurants. I am holding out as long as I can but I have this odd feeling that I will have to reschedule this vacation again to next year. This was my birthday vacation too.

I have a question. I know there is a "secret"door at the part of BC closest to Epcot where you can enter and exit , and avoid walking outside. If you have a room key from the YC, can you go enter through that door, or do you have to be staying at the BC?

I tested this by trying to get into the YC secret door when we were staying at the BC. My MagicBand was not able to open the secret door at the YC. I haven't tried getting into the BC when staying at the YC, but I assume that I would have the same results. Only a guest staying at that resort will be able to open a locked exit door.

But there is really no advantage to using the BC secret door unless you are a guest of the BC. Since there are so many turns in the BC hallways, it is much shorter to take the outdoor walkway along Crescent Lake than to go into the BC building if you are coming from or going to the YC. :)

If you don't wanna say publicly, any chance you could pm me what the room rate was? Just trying to figure out some rough estimates for rooms for a trip in feb

Wish we could do it online at this time lol. Not ready to book right now since I need to know prices of rooms
I wonder what club level food options will look like. No buffet spreads for sure. They will definitely need to think outside the box.

We tried this in the fall while staying at the YC and unfortunately it did not work, so looks like you have to be staying at the BC. Normally not a big deal, but a storm was chasing us that day and we were desperate to get indoors!

Been wracking my brain if I should try to rent DVC points for a 2 bedroom villa at BC, or go with the safer option of a standard room at BC or a water view at BWI

I think they'll be 5 of us, so the 2 bedroom will allow us to feel spreadout, unlike any other room (but it'd be roughly $800 with the cons of renting points, like no cancellation, paying it all upfront)

Though you won’t be able to use a YC “room key” to open the “secret door” at the EPCOT end of the BC, the quiet pool public entrance to the BC only is about a one minute walk past the pathway leading to the BC’s “secret door.” Just open the unlocked gate at the BC’s quiet pool area, which is right next to the BC’s laundry room, when walking the path from EPCOT. The BC entrance is at the opposite end of the pool, through another unlocked gate. The pair of doors there should be open 24/7. Shortly after entering the BC, you will come across the BC’s Marketplace, which is a great place to pick up food, beverages, or any small necessities you may need.

The walk through the hallways to the YC will take about five minutes, all through interior corridors, except for a very short outdoor span, under cover, which will bring you past Beaches and Cream and the fitness room. You will enter the YC at the door just outside the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

This is a good route during rainy weather or when you have just had enough of extremely hot and humid weather conditions.

In my personal opinion, you would be nuts to rent points. DVC is a mess right now (and I say that as someone who has been a happy owner for years). DVC was designed to run a specific way. Contracts for renting points assume DVC will run a specific way. The Pandemic caused unexpected changes to all of that. There are threads about this on the DVC boards. I don't want to go into details here because I don't think this Yacht & Beach Club thread should be clogged with "DVC Issues Caused By The Pandemic" posts.

Here are some of the threads (which I have not read from beginning to end):

Note that even if you are thinking of renting directly from an owner, rather than using a middleman, the threads about using a middleman contain information which might help you understand issues related to the whole concept of renting.

I plan on calling this week to book a standard room at BC for July of 2021. Can anyone recommend any good locations to request or maybe which floor is best. It has been so many years since we stayed here, I don't remember much.

Ya, many posters on here I've been telling me not to rent points this year. It stinks because the 2 bedroom villa would be nice for us. There's gonna be most likely 5 of us, all adults. I feel like we'll feel crammed if we just go with the regular rooms at BC or BWI (doing a bigger room would be out of our price range).

Just realized though I forgot to ask for a quote for a deluxe room at BC. Ugh, don't want to call again

You can look it up on the Disney MDE App.... if there is availability, they will give you prices. If you aren't comfortable using the app, list your dates and someone here would be happy to look it up for you.

EDITED: Alternatively - there are family suites at Art of Animation and All Star Music. They are no where near the amenities of the Deluxe resorts, but if cost and room space is the issue, you might want to check them out.

I'm looking at 2021 (2/4-2/7), so thats why would have to call.

And ya, I was supposed to be staying in an AoA suite during the star wars run last month. But this trip is for my bday, with everything going on, I really want to cross a place off my bucketlist have something to look forward to again and hope. This may be my only opportunity to stay at a place like BC
