I want to do this but am going to wait a bit until the rush is over. Can't wait.

There are limited tickets with reserved times, so I hope that should keep the crowds manageable.

Should be fine unless you were driving the CanyoneroView attachment 496266
At 82.5", my Super Duty is technically under 7', but based on the video linked, I don't think I'd want to try it through that one tunnel.

The concept's interesting though. Good way for the zoo to recapture at least some of their operating costs.

Edit to add: I thought you were talking about The African Lion Safari! Duh!

OMG I have amazing memories from when I was four years old doing the drive thru with your own car.

My great uncle had his old k-car with me in the middle front seat between him and my dad. Back seat was my 2nd cousin, sister and mom.

My uncle would put popcorn on the HOOD OF THE CAR and attract anything with two legs! A giraffe put its head into the car, monkeys on the antenna, giant animals blocking us moving forwards and backwards, the car had so many dents from ostriches pecking/eating the popcorn. Insanity, really. But I loved it. My mother, not so much LOL

We still all chat about it and laugh just as hard as when it was happening. Good times, good times.

If anybody is thinking of going to the Zoo they better get in the online line soon. I just signed onto their website and as of 7:45pm there are 4550 tickets for sale and I am #6242 in the online queue but it jumped really fast because in the time it took me to type this post I am now #5886 in line.. Guess it will be a sell out.

I waited in the queue last night from 7:45pm until 2:00am to finally get tickets. Well I went to bed and my brother ordered us some tickets. I just checked and the tickets for the Safari are now sold out. Wow I guess there was a lot of interest in it. I think he has us booked for next Friday so I hope for a good day.

I got into the queue at 8am yesterday, and at 11am finally got through. Tickets are for 1pm today. Very excited. (It’s something entertaining to do outside the house, and at this point even driving anywhere is exciting.) I’ll post with a review tonight or tomorrow.

Are they selling the tickets a few days at a time? We aren't local but may consider this later this summer depending on what's going on with restrictions.

They must be because last night you could only buy tickets from Sat May 23 to Sun May 31. I don't know if it is one and done thing and they are just doing it this week.

We had amazing experience today, our tickets were for 1:15 and that is when we entered. It took a little over an hour and me moved amount continually at 5 km/h. We saw almost all of the animals (the lions and giraffes were elusive). The staff were cheerful and all waving with a Disney level of enthusiasm. We witness one car stall and the staff helped them get the car onto another access path and assumedly assisted them in getting it going or towed. The audio tour was entertaining and informative. Altogether a great experience.
