Universal will reopen June 5th!

When we went to Cedar Point in the 60's, along, long, time ago, it was quite different. It was pristine, not crowded, with neatly unformed cast members everywhere ready to help you. I do remember a big wooden roller coaster. It was a great place to spend the day. I can't believe that it is now so big that people actually stay there for a week?
I remember that no one wanted to go to the beach or swim because of the pollution. When you were up on a ride, you could see the sewage pipe going out into the lake. Ick. I hope it's all cleaned up now. Great memories of dating and having a fun time. KI was not around when I was younger, but it sounds fantastic.
I couldn’t stay there for a week. But 2-3 nights is nice. We do 2 and arrive midday the night before, enjoy the resort (always stay at Breakers), wake up bright and early for EE. We hit the park hard all morning until lines build then spend the rest of our day in our a/c hotel room, at the beach, pool or water park. Park stays open til midnight when we go and usually really manageable crowd wise later evening (like walk right on Top Thrill Dragster over and over again!!). The hotel has tons of free, fun evening activities so we do those too. We’re ready to go in the morning. I’m not sure we’d want or need a second park day. Might be nice, I guess. We usually tack the visit on to a longer road trip. Last year was our first time with their equivalent of Express Passes. They were really nice- especially for the marquee rides- but kind of not as much fun to have them. We missed the longer lines and time to chat and play games. Getting to ride Steel Vengeance- the ride that big wooden one just transformed into- with a 10 minute vs 2 hour line was sweet though!
It’s still a clean, well managed park. 😊

For me I usually go for 4 to 5 days and add in a day at Put-in Bay makes for a great trip.

Thanks. It's nice to hear that it has become such a big success. Sounds like a lot of fun:)

Any additional info about the reopening released in the past few days? I'm looking to travel there in a few weeks... so far you don't need a reservation, right? Wondering if I have to stay on property or not (as I'm sure those staying at Universal hotels would get priority, IF there were a reservation system).

EVERYTHING!!!!! :rotfl:
Every thing from A to Z

but if that is too much, let us know how the system works for you

That works 😀 we have 4 day park to park, and will spend more time in Citywalk than usual so I'll should be able to see a lot. If i can figure out a way to get my future DH involved, i may be able to update as we're there. He's not a fan of phones on vacay if we can help it and usually I'm all for it, but this is a special circumstance.

I just can't wait to be back! We originally said even if the parks weren't open and the resort was, we'd still go and spend a week at the pool and Citywalk.

Sounds an ideal way to spend a trip!

That’s what we do, plenty of time for chilling out and not every minute in the parks.......pool and resort time is fabulous too!

What do you guys want to know the most or just everything? We'll be at Cabana Bay.
What everyone wants to know:
How do capacity closures work (or maybe this will be n/a) - & also w/ regard to park hopping?

Resorts questions:
Pools open / pool hopping allowed?
Shuttle bus or boat changes?

And anything else relevant.

DD13 loves the pool at CB, so she's super happy. I think she's to the point now that she's been to both parks so much that she's like let's do our favs and new stuff and go back to the pool lol
