What about park hoppers?

We have rescheduled our June 2020 trip to December 2020! Thrilled to be going at Christmas time! Curious to know how you all think park hopper tickets will be affected by the new reservation system? I realize details have not been announced, but, just thinking ahead and would love your input! We generally plan our mornings and then decide on the fly how to spend our afternoons. Wondering if we will still be able to do that?

Anyone have thoughts?

If it were me, I wouldn't add hoppers until MUCH closer to the time of going. As others have said, if the closing hours remain around the 6:00-7:00 pm time frame, that really limits park time and the time it will take to hop will be precious.

Assuming Reservations to get into the gate won't be in effect in December park hopping has a strong chance of happening

While it is not December, I just got notice from Touringplans that the second half of October has changed MK park closing hours to 7PM every day. My interpretation of that is no MNSSHP. What that means for December, who knows?

Mnsshp is usually from 7-midnight if I’m remembering correctly.

I also have PH, for my August trip. Something tells me we are going to be out of luck in terms of any kind of refund or compensation under the 'advance park reservation' system. Disney T&C have always included language along the lines of "Attractions and entertainment may change or be discontinued at any time and without notice."

I've got PH +WP tickets for the first part of August. That's what, ~ $100 per ticket? That would be a lot of money for them to just pocket. Maybe a resort credit? I guess we'll see what the deal is closer to August. Maybe less restrictions than initial opening? A lot could be learned from UO and SW over the next couple of months. Maybe FL will be headed for Phase 3 by then, too. A lot could still change, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

On the website it says the park closes at 7pm and that a special ticket event begins at 7pm. I'll be going in September, and I think that with a MNSSHP ticket it may be the only way I see two different parks in one day.

I think they would have to refund the difference between PH and non-PH tickets. While the terms and conditions of a ticket do not guarantee access to attractions or even that all parks will be open on a given day, the only reason for the PH cost differential is that PH tickets allow you access to more than one park per day. If the new reservation system prohibited that the entire reason to buy PH tickets also goes out the window.

While negative thinking on my part, I am personally not treating MNSSHP happening as a ‘given’ at this point. Who knows of course, I’m just mentally preparing in case that happens.

I agree with this.

Given that day guests at MK had to leave by 6 on party nights and now they can stay until 7 I really think the parties are all cancelled. AK closing at 6 and Epcot doesn't even open until 11am!
In same boat with PH as part of free dining promo from January. Wonder if I can get it moved to 2021.

Been wondering about our package regarding hoppers as well. We have a two week bounce back booked for the first two weeks of August. It's a free dining bounce back that required the purchase of hoppers. We are probably cancelling our trip, but in the event we don't, and we can't hop, I wonder how they are going to handle that? The bounce backs are generally packages that cannot be modified. With that said, we are a party of 4 so it's costing us $400+ for the hoppers! I"m hoping either a refund, somehow, or some type of credit. Who knows. Getting frustrating though. They need to release a lot of this type of information sooner than later.

There's a big difference between changes to offerings within park hopping and not allowing park hopping at all. For instance- you hop to HS and a ride is down- that's not reason to refund your hopper. But, if you can't hop at all, it is. They cannot charge you for something they don't deliver. If you can't park hop, they have to refund. Disney is very good at work arounds so as to not have to refund, but in this case, I don't see how they would do it.

I'm interested in what will come about with my hoppers as well. 4 adult tix all with hopper option but >>> bought through UCT back in Feb. Will where they were purchased make a difference if they do issue refunds? I wouldn't mind credit in the form of DGC! That way Disney isn't actually "loosing" the refunded money, it's just being redirected. Win/Win?
