Fort opening June 22nd

I wonder if masks are required at the Fort? Surely they don't expect people to wear them outside, when not in the parks ...

The whole mask thing is a no-go for me anyway. I'll wait it out. I understand the requirement in more crowded places, I'm just not willing to do it. I'm sure there are plenty that are willing to do it, so not like they will miss my business, but I sure will miss Disney.

If society is still like this in a couple years, hopefully I've learned a strategy to keep my glasses from fogging with a mask on.

There are several products available to put on your glasses to prevent the fogging. We have to use them in the ED to keep our eye protection from fogging. Amazon has several available and they won't damage your eye wear.

I use them during hunting season on my binoculars and hunting scopes.

Yes face masks will be required on all Disney property by guests and cast members.
@ColleenFL yes the Cabins will be open also.

Thanks for the answer.

That's just something I can't do. I completely understand in the public areas, and certainly inside any building. I'm just not willing to wear one on my own campsite. I would also never break a rule, so will have to wait this one out.

Thanks, I'm going to check on that right now! I do wear a mask in local stores, out of respect for others. Sometimes I feel like ripping it off since most people are not wearing them here, and drives me nuts to try to shop with my glasses fogging.

The blanket statement “on all Disney property” does not, IN MY OPINION ONLY, mean at your campsite. Just as you do not, I presume, need to wear one inside your hotel room. If you are going to leave your campsite to walk around the Fort... well maybe then you will be required to wear it... but at your site... I would not think so. Disney will have to make rules much more specific in certain areas, I think...

We are coming back to Fort Wilderness for our third cabin stay August 23-28. Looking forward to it :)
Those are the same dates I have reserved but I am not sure that between the masks, reduced hours, not parades or fireworks are going to be worth the cost. I wouldn't stay anywhere else on property. Love, love, love Fort Wilderness.

I also would think you do not need mask on your site unless a non-immediate family member was around such as a friendly neighbor. Just my opinion.

If you dont like masks, but need a face covering check out the fishing uv masks, go around your neck like a sock and when pulled up are not as invasive. This probably isnt a good protective measure but will keep you in line wirh a covering mandate. You can also look for masks with the breather valve. Just an idea. I did order the fishing masks for camping. While i dont plan on getting close to people, some places, beaches require them. The distancing is the key, masks only when closer. But if i have to where a mask while distancing, i will pick the least invasive one.

We have reservations for the Fort September 14th for 10 days and we also purchased the 10 day Park Hopper unlimited with water parks. With the new system starting where you have to make a reservation for each park each day, what will happen to those of us with the park hopper? Will they cancel that and have us make daily reservations? I would hate to drive our motorhomes all the way out from Arizona only to be told we can't get into the park. Anyone here get any info on that? Thanks in Advance !! Janet

I am sure when they have a plan @Corgidad will let us know. Thanks to him for the great information.

Looking forward to reports from early guests at the Fort. We have an August Fort only trip planned. It will be my brothers first Fort trip (and his kids first Disney trip!!), and my cousins first trip to the Fort. Curious to hear what activities are going on, pool situation, boat and resort hopping ability.

Trying to log onto my MY DISNEY EXPERIENCE page. Been on their "Standby... do not hit back button or try to refresh page" screen for 10 minutes. Their attempt to get me used to the social distancing wait times for Disney World? Or just incompetent IT setup. Never liked their internet interaction.

I spent two hours trying with no results. I've turned it over to the travel agent who helped book our October Dismeet. I'll let her try and get us tickets for October.
