Should I quickly buy tickets through UT?

Those that bought their tix recently. How long did it take to get the e-tickets to your email? I just tried and ordered tickets for my sister. We already have hotel reservations as we have annual passes we were waiting to buy her tickets.

About 2 mins (on UT). Had to link the tix thereafter on MDE on a desktop, couldn't do it on the app.

Ugh, trying to decide if I should buy a UT pass for DS's friend. We're AP holders and have a July 18-26 trip planned and are thinking about bringing along this friend if we're still a go. We've traveled with him many times before and I would love to bring him along, but if we're not going to be able to get him the same reserved access to the parks for whatever reason, it wouldn't be worth it to invite him along. I guess if the value doesn't expire we could always just let the ticket sit there until the next time we take him along. I wish we knew more about the reserved park access system! Argh!

Where I live, I can purchase tickets from the local military base. I called just a few minutes ago to inquire, and was told that they had received a "stop sale" notice this afternoon. Wonder if UT will get the same direction?

I bought mine this morning via UT, and linked them. This afternoon, I got an email from Disney stating that sense I had a resort stay and tickets linked, I would have priority when it came time to make a park reservation.

I bought tickets this morning from UT and the transaction went through (see the charge on my credit card account), but haven't as much as received a confirmation email about the tickets let alone received the electronic ticket numbers. Tried calling their phone number and got a voicemail, then was directed to a mailbox that is full so couldn't even leave a message.

I just got a call from a Daytona number confirming my order. I booked it under my sister's name but my card. Tickets were sent right away and I linked them.

Did you happen to receive an email asking you to input a small amount that had been charged to your card? That was my first email and I had to put that in as an extra security measure in order to get the tickets.

On the topic of tickets and UT....anyone know about MNSSHP tickets from UT?

I'm looking at either Tues Sep 1 or Fri Sep 4 and they are available on UT. But will they link and be valid if Disney moves ahead with the event?

If there are going to be any parties while we are there, I'd really like to go! Even knowing it will be different, I want to go :)

when is your reservation?

Hopefully this tactic works out for you that try this. But I assume Disney can tell when the tickets were “linked”... it’s not clear to me if they can necessarily tell when the ticket was sold by the third party. I assume they’d have some way to track the confirmation number. But since Disney’s message right now is about “sold” tickets rather than “linked” tickets, if they have no way to track when a third party sold the ticket, it doesn’t seem like this method would be an issue.

I also got the email stating that since I already had tickets I was good to go on making reservations and had priority.

Yes- I have had to do that a few times over the years.

I also bought etickets through UT yesterday afternoon. I received the email immediately and was able to link them in MDE. I would love to get an email from Disney but haven’t as of yet.

So for those of you who have purchased date specific tickets through UT what do think will happen to those tickets if you do not gain a reservation to enter the parks on those dates?

I bought date specific tickets for Thanksgiving week on UT on Wed and had them added to my account. The expiration was updated to Sept 2021 from the original Nov 2020 date the next day in my account.

That is great news. I did purchase date specific tickets and have them linked to MDE. Where do you see an expiration date? I only see the valid dates for which I purchased them. I would feel much better knowing that we have until Sept. 2021 to use them if we are denied entry in July.

They retain their value if not used. You will need to pay to upgrade them if you want to use them and it is a more expensive period.

I’m not sure if this is completely accurate. I am no ticket guru, but I have tried to read up on them. Normally, even an expired 5 day Park Hopper retains value if it is not used.

With the new system, I do not think it is clear what will happen if you use the parks one day but do not get a reservation the next, since you will be using your Park ticket on one of those days. It seems that Disney is trying to ensure access to at least one park if you have a ticket, even if it is not the Park you planned. It seems to me if you use your ticket one day but not another, you might be out of luck since you would be using your ticket.

I purchased UT tickets in March for a July trip that is now cancelled. They were linked into MDE before covid and are now showing an expiration of 9-26-2021 (next year).

Thanks @Kjbbach1. Mine doesn’t show that unfortunately. Says only valid through 7/20/20 but maybe it will update at a later time. Fingers crossed we get a reservation for July and it won’t matter.

We're staying offsite at an Airbnb. I bought 4 day tickets from UT yesterday for the second week of August with the hopes that it would improve our chances in the pecking order for the new reservation system. I guess we'll see how that works out, but I decided to opt for physical tickets (sent via regular mail) so they'd be refundable. Hopefully they'll arrive and I'll be able to link them to MDE before the new system is announced. Good luck to all!
