Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I'm in Santa Clara County and there is very little pushback/dissent over the stay at home orders and mask requirements.

I was there yesterday and was rather delighted that masks were required at Target, and everyone was wearing one.

Drive 90 minutes north and practically no one's wearing anything up in Solano County.

Definitely an urban/semi-rural divide even within the Bay Area.

DL reopening is going to be a very interesting cultural experiment, unfortunately.

Yes, I'm in San Mateo County and feel like for the most part, people seem fine with masks. Everyone requires, them, and I've seen very little pushback. I was in Target this morning and 9 saw 1 teen with mom, Mom had a mask on, the teen didn't. Another woman had a mask hanging off one ear. But other than that, everyone else had one on.

I am on our churches' reopening Task Force and was on a call with our local health officer. I can't even imagine how much pressure the people in that position are under. He basically said that the is allowing churches to open, not because he thinks they are safe, but because he believes in the separation of church and state, and the distribution of power. It was interesting.

I would be shocked if opening day wasn’t July 17th. Disneyland’s 65th anniversary.

Hooray! Have a trip planned for 8/7-8/9 and already have tickets. Hopefully they make the reservation system easy to use for out of town guests to reserve multiple days in a row.

I absolutely did not see the park reopening BEFORE the hotels seeing as WDW DVC resorts are opening several weeks before WDW even opens.

I just changed my Harbor hotel reservation for 7/16-7/19 to aim for rope drop on Friday 7/17. Obviously dependent on whether a) I'll get a park reservation and b) whether I'm confident in the risk mitigation processes.

But yay good news! That deleted tweet was real!

The hotels will open 6 days later pending government approval. It could be that they just are still working out the plans on how to ask them safe... or they need some time to train staff on additional cleaning procedures... or they might have an issue getting additional sanitization products... or initial capacity will be so low (this 5k people) that first week that it isn’t worth opening resorts from the get go... either way one week isn’t a huge lag... call now to move your dates! Lol

Now to wait on news on the reservation system!
I did email GAT and asked how DLR will know I have tickets if I can’t link in the app in case there is still a reservation system in place in November. I’ll let you all know what I find out

Disneyland Resort will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be subject to availability. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.

This is still the part that needs clarification. Do hotel guests automatically get a reservation? Is the “clock” going to start running on AP extensions even if reservations are difficult to get?

I really don’t want my remaining AP days to start ticking away, even if I can’t actually get a reservation. Cautiously awaiting further clarification.

Also, don’t recall seeing any word on MaxPass/FastPass. Hmm.

Now that our Wonder cruise looks to be cancelled (having the ship sail from San Diego to Florida is not a good sign lol) we are hoping to keep our October dates (since airfare into and out of LAX is already booked) so crossing my fingers we can make DLR work for October. Just need that dang Canadian border to open

The decision to limit new ticket sales and keep the hotels closed for an extra week, coupled with a reservation system, suggests that they're targeting local APs as their reopening demographic. That seems risky from an epidemiological standpoint since they're located in a coronavirus hot spot. It personally makes me a bit more hesitant to go (we're in Sacramento County and the LA County disease rate per 100,000 people is 9x our local rate, Riverside is 5x, and Orange is 3x), although we have longstanding plane and hotel reservations for 7/31-8/2 (we have Flexpasses) and my kids are dying to go (we've already missed two planned trips).

i just made hotel rsvp for labor day wknd this am (non DLR hotel)..must be kismet.
now, the Q is can i even get in w/new rsvp system..i should probably scan my tix into my app huh?
looking at WDW calendar of operations, there wont be any fireworks/parades & closing early every day (even into Sept, 9a-7pm hrs) so I assume DL will do the same.
