Resort Change by Disney

Has anyone been given a timeframe for when they will see their price decrease? Ours is reflecting the significantly higher amount. I’m sure it will all work out but I’m an anxious person. I can’t remember how long they said it would take to reflect our previous price before the swap.
My cm this morning (not guest services) said he had to fill out a form for each reservation change for the price protection and then those got sent over to GS and then it'd would be taken care of. I got in around 1030 this morning and so far still no price change...We got a pretty awesome upgrade so I've been stalking my mde account as I'm a little nervous lol.
 
I have to vent... I've been following this thread for a couple days and have even interacted with a lot of helpful people. I am scheduled at ASMo for next month and my TA hasn't tried to call to have me moved. I've asked her about it twice. She told me her boss wants her to sit tight until next week for the phone lines/park pass reservations to die down... I would call and do it myself but since I booked with a TA, I've learned I can't. It just makes me really uneasy. I don't want Pop's availability to be maxed out. This is my first time using a TA and it has been great up until this point. Am I overthinking this?
I’m sorry to hear that. This is exactly why I will never use a TA. I like being in control. I truly hope this works out for you and doesn’t cause and damage to your trip.

I’ve decided I’m going to call my TA tomorrow and just be straight up with her about how I need this to be done ASAP. It’s causing me too much stress and anxiety to the point where I can’t even sleep. I’m hoping it goes well but I will be prepared to call the actual agency and speak to her boss if necessary. It’d be different if I had a trip booked later in the year, but my trip is next month!

I think your concerns are valid and your expectations are realistic. Hope your call goes well and you get some help with your trip!

Why are you so worried about Pop maxing out? You have "price protection." If Pop maxes out, they'll offer to move you somewhere else at no additional cost, perhaps AoA. Pop is the cheapest of the resorts currently scheduled to reopen. If price equates to quality, being moved to anywhere else would be an upgrade.

If you for some reason really want Pop, I'll add that it is the biggest of the Disney resorts in terms of number of rooms. It shouldn't max out quickly.

FWIW, I have an ASMu reservation in August. I'm waiting until things settle down before calling. In the unlikely event that Pop maxes out in the meantime, I won't complain.

Did they let you shorten your stay but keep the price protection? I was too scared to ask, but now that I know that, I might call back.
They did let me do that, but really were not suppose to let me keep the price protection. I think many in guest services are trying to get through the day and overriding things they don't normally. Never hurts to ask!
 
So I'm calling all day and at 9:30 and I FINALLY get through. Yay!

So I pop on Disboard to do some rage reading and wait it out...
And I see that magic number....
And I call the number...
And it goes right through...
And I wait on hold for 2 minutes and get a very tired CM...
We had POFQ River View and we ended up with CBR Preferred which is fine. Pretty much an even up trade.

The magic number is indeed magical, people.
I had the same experience! Moved from POFQ River View to CBR Preferred just like you. They did forget to attach my mother back to the ressie. But I called the magical internal IT HD number this morning and got through in 1 minute and was fixed within 30 seconds. Finally I can rest :-)

Yes - I tried throughout the day yesterday. I've called every number I've got many times this morning and no dice.
 
This confuses me. What exactly are you "waiting" for? POFQ will not be open your dates so it is not like you are just not happy with the resort that you booked and want a free upgrade. There is nothing wrong with wanting this to be settled, especially since your trip is less then 7 weeks away. It seems like it is better to advocate for yourself. I am sorry for those who's travel agents are not able to help. I would contact your agent again and have them insist on a resort move. If there is one in particular that you don't want to stay, I would tell them. Maybe you can be on a 3 way call with Disney and your agent. Good luck.

obviously I agree with everything you say and I’ve expressed all of it to her. I don’t know if they are just exhausted/burned out from days on end of this nonsense. It’s not her fault, it’s Disney’s. She obviously got a cast member who was less accommodating than others. She’s trying again today. I think it’s NUTS that 2021 is being dealt with right now while people leaving for a trip in a few weeks are not yet settled. For the first time ever, Disney has me wondering why any of this is worth it. All I know is I’m seeing people with POFQ dates later than mine get booked at Contemporary and the like. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t envious. CBR is never a resort I would book but I have a feeling that’s where I’ll be moved.
 
Someone mentioned a resort change button...can changes be made on My Disney Experience? I wonder if it isn't showing for me since ours was a military discount reservation and those have to be made by phone.

I don't know when I should bother calling again about getting our October All-Star reservation changed, since yesterday they said my only option was to pay to upgrade to a deluxe.
Yes, there is usually a change button. It appears to be working for some and not for others. Based on others responses, my theory is that it’s working only if you don’t have a special rate. I have the Recovery rate and it’s showing, but not working for me.

If it were me, I’d try calling again. Try the magic number! Doesn’t seem right that they’d make you pay to go deluxe and not try to give you a lateral move with price protection.
 
I have the change button in MDE but it rebooks my reservation at a new resort and price. I am calling to get it changed.

I have a rack rate room only reservation and it doesn’t work! Based on some internet sleuthing, it seems people have had the issue of the change button just refreshing their plans going back for several years, so maybe it just doesn’t work for some of us for no reason, ugh!

Well, that blows my theory out of the water. I get the refreshing of My Plans when I hit the change button. I’ve had it work for me in past trips (before the pandemic) and it’s very convenient to have access to that change feature without having to call CS. However, with that feature, it will book you at a new price. Right now, that’s not helpful to some who want the price protection.

Thank you, the “price protection” aspect does make me feel better. AoA will not be open when I’m there next month. Pop is the only value resort that will be, so it’s safe to assume that’s where they will be putting a majority of the All Star folks for now. Which like you said, anything would be an upgrade as far as price goes. I’ve stayed at Pop my last two trips, and I’m excited for the Skyliner.
 
I was on hold 2 hours before getting to a CM who would let me book just about anywhere, but couldn't guarantee the rate, so I waited 5 more hours for GS.
I have a PO-FQ for July 19-24. GS said all they could do was the Cabins at FW. I told him we would cancel if that were the case.
Saw the IT number while holding yesterday. Got through this morning only to find out about the 8:00 EST start today.
This is all so frustrating. Like others, I can't believe it is opening for 2021 today.
 
Has anyone stayed at Contemporary Garden Wing? That's where we ended up after we changed our dates and AKL Jambo was closed. Everything else DVC was $$$. I'm nervous we won't like it. I wonder if the capacity is low if they'll consider bumping us into the tower?
