Looking at getting the BOA Card for both DH and I. Not much else out there right now and get $500 with $3000 MSR. Do we need to have a BOA bank account first to get approved for this.

can anyone direct me to that wonderful post (I don't remember by whom) about always rotating your CSR CSP and Freedom card?
@SouthFayetteFan posted a great write up, that worked prior to the current situation, not sure if anyone has tried it lately
I'm trying to find it and can't.

Any chance this is what you're talking about?

DH and I both got the Premium Rewards card earlier this year (pre-pandemic) with no prior BOA relationships. We both have excellent credit scores (>800)

Does anyone have a Delta Skymiles Debit card? We moved recently, and it is offered as an upgraded debit card option at one of the local banks we're getting a new account at. The initial bonus isn't great, but since most of our utilities now have fees for using credit cards, and Delta miles would be useful, I'm tempted to get it despite the AF. If anyone has it, do all debit card purchases count for miles, or only those in a physical store? The wording has me hesitant since we'd mostly use it to pay for bills that charge CC fees, so if those online payments won't give us any miles, then it'd be a waste for us. The terms say "1 mile for every $2 spent on PIN Point of Sale or signature-based qualifying purchases (up to 4,000 per card monthly)"

I just went for it. Auto approval for both DH and I. No prior banking relationship. Also have over 800 Credit Score. At least I have another MSR for right now - and only $3000 in 3 months. That will be easy to knock out both of those with tuition next month.

Not a requirement, but tremendously helpful. If you have few inquiries/new accounts in the last 6 and 12 months, you'll likely be fine. BOA has cracked down on approvals with a lot of inquiries.

EDIT: And... just saw you were approved!

They are also giving a $50 grocery credit for $50 grocery spend, I think good until the end of the year? We got them when we needed 2 new air conditioning units. $3000 spend = 4500 pts +$500 reward = $545 back, not bad for $95 fee.

Oh - is this just automatic then at the grocery store? Assuming a one time deal per card?

Oh but be careful, apparently not agreeing with everyone that it's fantastic or thinking knowing the history might help more than prelistening to the soundtrack, and I'm sure now this comment, will get you an angry reaction. For our opinions. I get that reaction is there, but I don't find it useful on a message board that is largely based on people's opinions. If you don't agree, great move on our explain why but don't get angry and then react with that.

I can also appreciate what Hamilton is and what's been done with it without actually liking it. So I'll go back to watching She's the Man and also add that Hamilton is better than Thoroughly Modern Millie and that has that fantastic Julie Andrews in it. That was a hard one to keep watching.
Maybe that person is new and doesn't know we don't give mad emojis for someone's opinion here. We're better than that.
I added it to my gold and just used it at Bruster’s (ice cream). I wish they had a better way to identity small businesses. The map is kind of a pain.
I have the Aspire card and am finding the dining credit (for resort credit) hit or miss. Worked at Culver's and another local place but not at the ice cream place that is listed as "Restaurant-Bar & Cafe" on the actual posted charge.

The first time I saw this, I was confused because I thought they were randomly clawing back points earned on regular grocery purchases. It turned out they were clawing back points earned from purchasing gift cards at grocery stores, which is... well, it’s Amex. We all know better. MS elsewhere.

Only thing is they don't get l3 from them so while it's probably all/mostly ms as the dps I've read def spent more on the card than they had been at the grocery store, it's kinda messed up since amex doesn't have actual proof othet than the amount the people spent. And the dps I've seen haven't all been huge amounts and really not dif than someone maxing out the csr grocery benefit last month.
