Merch pass drawing for Minnie Mouse Main Attraction Peter Pan's Flight

The reviews on all the Peter Pan items on the shopDisney site are brutal. 99% are 1 star reviews all trashing the Merch Pass system and complaining that the items are now on eBay and Mercari for outrageous prices. Not a bad idea if you want to get Disney's attention...maybe.

I saw that too. I’m personally not a fan of the MerchPass, I think I’d be less frustrated (in some weird way) if I had a chance to fight for it. I know the idea is to save us the time off our computers but I personally checked my email a billion times waiting. 🤷‍♀️

Well, never mind...they are deleting the 1 star reviews as I write this. People continue to leave the bad reviews, but Disney keeps taking them down. Oh well!

I noticed that too... They left the one on the backpack that loved the merchpass. Assuming I suppose bc they got to purchase the actual item.. which is probably gonna result in a more favorable opinion. 😂

For those that got the email, what was the subject line? I was excited that I got an email from them and it basically said search no more for items that you wanted, thinking I was picked. It sucks that it was an advertisement to continue shopping with them on other products. I double checked and signed into my account and nada. I'm not going to give up hope since I also wanted the headband and pins. I didn't get merchpass on frozen and I was able to get the pin on the 2nd or 3rd restock that they had.

Yes I saw those reviews ... Disney really should have just put this series on hold until the stores opened back up, they must have known the backlash from collectors would be brutal.

This merchpass was infact the first time I was able to get anything tho, since MMMA went online I havent been able to get a thing.

It was from ShopDisney Merch Pass and subject title was : Your MerchPass Items Are Reserved to Purchase

I couldn’t wait for the Peter Pan set, I collect Peter Pan pins so I was excited to add this to my collection. Right before they were to go on sale, they Changed to Merch Pass so I signed up. I didn’t get selected. I guess if I had I was disappointed after I checked eBay selling them for 3 times as much, which I will never pay that much for pins. I think I’m going to stop collecting anything Disney puts out because it’s so difficult to purchase. I feel bad for the people who bought all the previous pins and the binder to display them.

Same. I have all the Wisdom Collection and the pins and mugs from Minnie for the first five series. I'm pretty much done with anything I can't get at a physical store. It's not worth it; Merch Pass isn't doing what Disney wants it to do. So they're lost my support. I left 1 star reviews on both the mug and pins (the items I wanted).

I'm also selling off all of my Wisdom Collection and everything I have for Minnie. I'm done with this stupidity.

I just tweeted @ShopDisney - it's really a bunch of crap. It wouldn't be that hard to stop this. For one, the items don't need to be so limited, allow people a chance to get them - this would also not make it so lucrative for the eBay jerks to find a way to get them (I'm assuming they just created hundreds of accounts and registered them all). If they really want to make them limited - give them #s, and make the terms and conditions of the sale that if they are sold on eBay (or sold for more than retail price), Disney will no longer ship to anyone at that address. There would still be ways around that, but it would at least be more difficult. It's like the people that buy up everything in the parks - they could stop it all if they wanted to, but they don't care to, and I don't get it. I know it probably helps their overall sales #s, but they could just sell those items directly to customers (put more park stuff online), and this all generates so much angst and anger from the customers.

The number thing is actually a really good idea! They do that with concert tickets. As for the selling, Disney can’t stop you from selling Merch on eBay. Once they buy it it’s their property and they can do whatever they want with it. The only deterrent they could add is more product, but then it loses the whole “exclusivity”.

I'm assuming none of us were trying to buy it because there are only so many of them - we're not interested in the long term value - we want them as a special collection, limited release (as opposed to limited edition) for ourselves. None of us care if they go up in value because there are only x number of them. In fact, before this Merch Pass, we had no idea how many they were actually selling.

I agree that Disney can't prevent anyone from selling them on eBay or anywhere else, but they can certainly say that if you do so, you're no longer allowed to purchase new items. They could also allow resale for what was paid, plus shipping, for those people who change their minds. However, if you sell them for any profit, sorry, you can't buy from us any more. It's not limiting the resale, it's limiting the purchasing.

What Nike does for some shoe releases that involve a lottery is make those that register enter their payment info and charge/ship automatically if selected. I’m sure most resellers would still register, but since you have no obligation to buy now but can take up drawing selection spots, maybe it would eliminate all but those who actually intend to buy the items from the drawings. Maybe they need to do a temp charge or refundable deposit on these or something that puts a little more skin in the game for the mass resellers but wouldn’t hurt one off buyers like most of us.

I know Disney is popular, but it is sort of amazing how quickly the inventory moves. If the stock numbers on the MerchPass register page were correct there were over 10k stock of at least one of the items (I think the plush), but only a few hundred of the MagicBands.

I’m not bothering trying to get any more from this collection. Too much of an emotional roller coaster! There’s like three pages on ebay of the backpack so obviously the ebay sellers found a way to get around the merch pass system. Jerks.

I only really want the October collection, specifically the backpack or fanny pack (whichever it turns out to be). The likelihood I'll be picked is so slim now it's painful. I don't have oodles of family members that I can convince to create accounts to also try for me, so I'm probably out of luck. So disappointed in this horrible Merch Pass to eBay debacle. It's testing my resolve for sure.

My husband got the ears, which I'm really happy for, but while I registered for the backpack I didn't get it. If it's anything like the Frozen castle fiasco (STILL SO MAD) they'll show up without announcement on the Shopdisney site and then immediately be bought by bots :(

Then it needs to be limited to one entry per ISP, not email address. I could have created a hundred new junk email addresses and had a better chance. As it is, nothing and I am actively selling the entire Wisdom Collection plus the first five months of the Minnie collection. They just guaranteed I will no longer be interested in any of their LE items I can't get in a store or a park.

And you're right: they can't stop people from buying and reselling. Absolutely 100% correct. It just burns longtime collectors who have been loyal and not selling on the secondary market.

The items in the collection are back up on shopDisney, along with some of the bad reviews... The bag and ears are still showing as Currently Unavailable though. I didn't check the other items.
